  1. I didn't mean to knock the Epiphones, I had a much-loved Riviera for many years Am going to pop out next week to go test some, just trying to form some kind of opinion before I go really so I don't go in totally blind
  2. Quick one for folks, does anyone have any experience with both Explorer and Les Pauls? I know they're very different guitars, but ignoring tone how different do they feel to play? For both rhythm and lead stuff, preferably Gibson spec but I'll take input from Epiphone players too Standing as well as sitting, if possible. I spent over three hours yesterday properly setting up the tones on the RP1000 too, and I'm so glad I did. I take back everything I said about it, as all it needed was some tweaks to the on-board equaliser and everything comes alive! Much fuller tones now, the Boogie DR setting is seriously impressive, and the the TR one is face melting! Some wonderful clean tones from the Vox AC30 setting too, full and bright. Best thing to do I found was to set the actual amp to midway on all the tone knobs, then just use the RP1000 via the PC to adjust settings on the fly. Fiddly but with pretty much unlimited options. I was all set to drop some serious money on a new amp, but now I really have no need to.
  3. I'm never moving house ever again. Ever. How people do it over and over again I've no idea, packing boxes is soul destroying and the stress is just off the chart, especially now mortgage companies are bellends after the new rules were brought in.
  4. No-one ever bothers swapping dials over. But yes, in theory you're right.
  5. If he's telling the truth, then I'd be looking elsewhere to buy. They sound exactly like the kind of people you don't want to be dealing with, as I'm already picturing them gazundering you right at the end. If it's only been up a week my guess is they'll reject an offer that low, I think I would too tbh. In terms of negative equity, it's only an issue if you're selling, otherwise it's irrelevant so don't worry too much. Just buy the right place, be happy there and if the market drops at least you're in a place you like.
  6. Holy sh*t dude, that looks awesome! You can cook for me any time Upbeat? Yeah, I guess. I mean it's hard going and I damn nearly cracked last night and had a lasagne, but I didn't which felt good. It'll be worth it when I go buy a snazzy suit and look amazing in it
  7. It won't damage a modern turbo, they're not ceramic blades any more. The stalling of the turbo when the wastegate shuts is insignificant in performance terms, a recirc BOV doesn't really help matters very much at all as we're talking tiny fractions of air. Where it does help is air metering over a VTA BOV. On local turbo setups (I.e. not rear mount) then you can see significant throttle response gains on some setups from removing a recirc BOV from the setup.
  8. Another 3lb off this week, although it's only been a six day week as I prefer weighing in on Saturday. Only 32lb to go...! Won't be anywhere near that in reality, that's just what the silly app says.
  9. If you absolutely positively have no intention of ever having any real fun in the car, try the Rainsports. They're comfy and will last a while too.
  10. Well, if it makes you feel any better I don't think that's too excessive, and it's still a great car you'll love
  11. A grit guard adds nothing more than simply not plunging your whole hand to the bottom of the bucket doesn't achieve for free.
  12. The fact you're coming back to the same place despite looking at others in the area suggests it is worth a premium. Either they're happy to wait and get the price they want, or they're not: Nothing you can do will change that. There's no harm at all in making an offer to them outright whilst you're there, you may well find that there's a common ground you're happy to meet in the middle at which you wouldn't get to if you make offers via agents. We did with our house, and got the deal we wanted. Also as it's a home not a BTL, you need to consider just how much you want to live there. BTLs or investments can be viewed with cold eyes, whereas homes sucker you in! I'd pay above market for somewhere I really wanted if I thought it was perfect and could afford it, I don't get the hang up about people having to drive a bargain everywhere. THIS THIS THIS. You absolutely must check this out first before getting too advanced, as otherwise you may end up stuffed. As for the increase, very possible. Looking at the market, we've 'made' approx £70K in two years on our place, which is about a 35% increase. We did get a bargain though, so the exception rather than the rule.
  13. Depends on the tyre you're planning on using: Some walls stick out further than others.
  14. Easy way to check is look at your rev limit. It's 6500 on a DE and 7000 on a Revup, and then 7500 on an HR. How much did you pay, may I ask?
  15. Bubbles != a good shampoo. The best I've ever found was a pH neutral one by Wolfs IIRC, practically zero bubbles but wonderfully smooth. Not seen it for years though sadly. Right now I'm sticking firmly with Envy's own shampoo, by far the closest I've found and does a superb job. http://www.envyvaleting.co.uk/products-info.asp?id=295
  16. Given the price he wants for it, I think I'll be taking his second offer instead and fornicating away.
  17. £1500 for a clutch fitted sounds awfully pricey to me, is it really that much? I think it would be a huge shame to break a HR where the only issue is a clutch and a squiffy gearbox, but I can see your reasoning.
  18. And probably check your pics work before posting
  19. You need to submit this in the For Sale section and abide by the rules of that section.
  20. Pop up lights are infinitely cool. Hope that NSX was a manual!
  21. Never anger the gods of Google!
  22. Shan't :p We all have off days mate, and sometimes it's hard to remember not to drag that with you when you're out with you're mates. Doesn't matter if pub or internet, same thing applies.
