  1. Chassis of the s2k isn't a patch on the 986. It has a depth of feel to the steering that the Honda could never match. No slight to the Stook, it's a brilliant car and still very much on my list, it's just the Boxster was (still is) the best car of its generation. S2k is better looking though, no arguments here.
  2. 1. Clean wheel 2. Clean wheel again 3. Make sure wheel is clean 4. Clean rim with supplied alcohol wipe 5. Stick Rimblade on. Easy as that
  3. Trouble with the S2K is that he already has two front engined RWD cars: Great if that's all you like, but the drives are a bit samey. That's why I'd go for the Boxster or Elise/VX, get something MR and enjoy a different experience.
  4. Combe was fun, more fun than I expected given the short round layout. I'd like to go back there again, deffo.
  5. Croft is on the list, looks a lovely place. I just found Rockingham to be devoid of anything interesting, the layout was so flat and the banking just dull. Not been there for many years though, not since the VXR220 went.
  6. Rubbish, I live further from Anglesey than you do and I still make the effort go there Donny is good fun though, prob my second fav UK circuit. I hate Rockingham though, dull as ditchwater.
  7. Anglesey > anything else. /thread Only circuit that betters it is Spa, but that's not UK so doesn't count. Closer to me than Anglesey is mind you!
  8. Not really, the M96 engine is the same design as the M97, so you still have bore scoring on the larger capacity 3.2L compared with the 2.5L or 2.7L, and you still have the IMS issue. IMS not a lot you can do really apart from buy a car having done 80k or more as generally if the bearing is going to go then it goes before then. Bore scoring is just a simple boroscope check, so easy done but definitely don't buy one without it. So you really want a high mileage 2.7L car for maximum security against problems, but a high mileage 3.2L is just as fine as long as you've had it checked out Aside from that, there's precious little to go wrong and it's the finest sports car of it's class.
  9. Actually that thread was more S2K-specific, and barely touched on the others. Still, it's here if you fancy a read. I still say an Elise is something everyone has to own once. You could run it for a year then sell it for what you paid for it, and a man of your helmsmanship will definitely appreciate the delicacies of the chassis.
  10. Boxster, no question. Just don't forget the all-important inspection. I did a thread on basically the same thing the other month, let me go find it.
  11. I dunno, I'm not sure I trust him. I mean, blue Subaru *without* gold wheels? Heresy!
  12. They're not directional, but they do (or should) have 'OUTSIDE' stamped on them to indicate which side goes on the outside edge of the wheel. Check that. Correct, they have ~90% At the moment, it sounds like they have 10%.
  13. It's only a wasted vote if you believe it is. If people bothered to read policies rather than vote for soundbites and/or like their grandparents did, we wouldn't have such a two party system.
  14. Far too simplistic view IMHO. I'm not wealthy, but I've done okay under a Tory government. Then again, I also did well under a Labour government, so make of that what you will.
  15. Pirellis don't have half the grip the MPSS do, so you're always going to have a more slippery rear (!) until you change the fronts to match. That said, this is much more likely to be a case of you not having worn the release agent off yet, so it will get better the more miles you do. Pump the pressures up in the rear by a couple of PSI too, see if that helps.
  16. But as I probably said in the first place, idiots all round. Four people on a quad at night with no lights, and street racing. Four people dead, two people likely to see serious jail time (interesting how they charged the 350Z passenger with causing DBDD, rather than encouraging causing DBDD) and five people praying that the jury finds in their favour.
  17. New article, old news story. The crash happened in 2015, but the court case is taking place now. This is most definitely relevant news, seeing as how people are still on trial.
  18. So what happened when the bulk of the country voted Labour and Blair came to power? What happened then?
  19. They're right on both accounts though
  20. I guess he'd be arguing against the LD, SNP, UKIP, PC and the Greens. He knows that to go up alone against the others there could simply split the Left vote between him and TF, which is the last thing he needs right now. Tbh it's a very sensible decision for him not to appear either.
  21. Scrubbing is used where a tyre is being dragged along the ground sideways, rather than rolling along as you would expect. That's an extreme explanation, as it's likely your tyres are only pointing off by a few degrees which is nothing in the real world, but over many miles it can make a big difference to the tyre. Tracking/alignment/geo should be done annually at least, if not every 6mths if you drive over some really poor roads regularly. In MK though, annually will be just fine.
  22. Def a better guitar, but just not as iconic as the Warlock. Plus I doubt I'd pick one up for £30!
