What gives you that idea? Girly wusses eat Marmite. Real men eat Bovril.

Another good reason to buy quality. Exception is for emergency top ups, then anything will do as it's better than running on air!
-
I'd rather my car smelled of sh*t tbh.
-
I dunno, given how critical the brakes are I'd rather a more sensitive system there than anywhere else.
-
Sounds like a dodgy MAF to me. Give it a clean with some carb cleaner first, see if that makes a difference, else try and swap with a known good one just to rule it out. Thicker oil is not always a good thing on modern engines as they're designed for thinner stuff because of tight tolerances. What are you running now? Personally I'd go with a 5w-30 from Fuchs GT1 or Millers Nanodrive, better a quality oil than a thicker one IMHO.

I ran the 01 on the front and the Z-rated on the rear, both with their 2-piece discs. Absolutely wonderful things for track or road, certainly no dustier than anything else comparable but with excellent feel and stopping power. Much better than the RS14s or 2500s IMHO. Many people do use the 2500s on here though and are content with them. What PF pads are you looking at? Bear in mind the Ring isn't particularly hard on brakes at all.

I'd buy the one in best condition. High mileage HR over a low mileage DE any day though. Revups are worth it for the better interior and more importantly the extra 500rpm which transforms the driving experience, however you do need to be aware that some have been known to burn oil a fair bit. I'd put it at about 20% of cars, going on here over the years. I had one, it was absolutely fine. We've seen a fair amount of DE engines go pop in the last year or so, although I don't believe there's any correlation there to be found. Ignore anyone who says that the VED cost should be an issue at all: It's the equivalent of an extra pint of beer a week, and the cost will pale into the amount you'll spend on fuel over the year. Haggle £500 off the cost of the car you buy and the extra is paid for for two years

Would it be too much to have a have that smells like it looks though?! Imagine what odour you'd need if your car was brown though...

No worse than a bottle of Redex. Won't do any harm, but also I don't expect it to work miracles either. If you're going to use anything, you want one of the aerosols you spray into the intake post-MAF whilst someone keeps the engine ticking over to 2K rpm: That stuff clears A LOT of crap out of teh system, you'll see clouds of black smoke billowing down the street! I used to use the 10K Boost stuff, but it doesn't look like you can get it any more sadly.

OIC now! Well in that case it's fine and my last sentence applies.

Nah, mine is pure white, no idea who the guy with the yellow lid was.

Go on, bugger off then, no need to make a fuss over it. Glad things are working well for you bud, just don't be a stranger eh?

You need to put the new plates on before you drive it. Not for insurance purposes, but because you'll ping the ANPR for an uninsured, untaxed and un-MOT'd vehicle by driving on 'false' plates. Should've waited until you had the plates to inform your insurer. Who says you received the paperwork, after all?

I found that corner very challenging in the BMW, as it relies on massive speeds but also very good brakes to get the front to turn in without unsettling the car, and then the last left flick onto the start/finish straight is just a nightmare with a huge car. Bet it's ace in an Elise or something. Also, lols at the MX5 comment When is the Weekender this year? Might come along again if possible.

First off, what are the codes? How many miles are you actually doing between oil changes? Not relevant to the issue I don't believe, more a case of I'd say you're changing far too early and wasting money unless you're tracking it loads or using particularly crap oil
-
I suspect they've done significantly better than if Labour had been in charge, but your point is very much valid. World circumstances dictated that things haven't been great, and in fairness that same issue didn't help Labour during the credit crunch so I don't lay masses amount of blame there either. After all, I did vote that Labour government in so I should take some of the blame!

Basically the circle continues as ever. Tories make the money, Labour spend it, and so on and so forth.

I wouldn't expect a Union to carry on unwinnable cases either, as that would be a waste of other people's money at that point.
-
I was thinking more the 30mins free, or hell you can pretty much find anything on the internet these days, but point taken.

See, I'd simply go to a solicitor instead. I guess my issue isn't with the theory of unions, it's how they're run. Like I say, the people I know who are union guys are utterly despised by co-workers and management alike, because their mindset appears to be one of "If it's not written down, then I'm not doing it", which just feels wrong to me. On a case by case level, where one person is under investigation for whatever reason then sure, the union isn't that different from a solicitor, but when you get the group mentality it just destroys things. Only 20? Seems more like 200! Other half has just left one union for another as she's been made headteacher now officially (she's only 28, I'm so massively proud of her for that achievement) and the first union doesn't cater for HTs, but even though she told them three times in writing why she's leaving she still gets these blackmail letters through saying that they have a 98% retention rate and you'll get run over without us blah blah. It's all nonsense, she's only with a union so that she gets free legal cover if a kiddy accuses her of something innapropriate!

This is why I keep my track cars road legal. I can't legally tow either, and I cba to do the test

WHAT?! The Rocket complex is amazing, nevermind the drop down from Peel through the Corkscrew! Laguna Seca or Suzuka for me too. I'm looking at maybe doing LS for my 40th in a few years.

Given that I've stated numerous times that the reason Corbyn needs to go is because the UK desperately needs a strong (and stable) Opposition for the government to function properly, I choose to ignore your not-so-subtle dig sir. We do need an Opposition. We don't need Unions. Unions used to be very important back in t' days of working down t' mill, but these days they're useless, toothless, and perfect examples of champagne socialism. The train driver thing serves as the perfect example of this. In more general answers to your questions, if an employer tries to change my contract illegally then I shall take them to court over it for breach of contract, something that has evolved in UK law over hundreds of years. If I don't like more general practices then I'll leave and work elsewhere. Would I work for Sports Direct, given a choice? I've no idea, but in theory I have nothing against them in principle. Do I think they're a stand-up example of an employer? Not at all, but no-one is forced to work there. You're quite wrong when you say that worker's rights are not enshrined in law, and I mean proper statute stuff as well as common law. Employment Right Act 1966, HASAW Act 1974, Working Time Regs 1998: They're the main ones, which are of course backed up by numerous amounts of case law precedents.

And more torque steer than you can shake a scrabbled corner at

Unions are completely useless these days, ironically because we have so much employment law that they were desperate to have. The only thing a union is good for is to protect the old boy's network they have amongst themselves, which again is ironic as that's what they hate about the current government. The union rep is always the least-liked person of any workplace. Anyone else notice that too?
