Using the Bose speakers and Sub with new head unit
un1eash replied to Uberdread's topic in I.C.E & Electronics
Bringing in the rears ruins the sound stage in my car so i fade them out, i believe Ikarus does also who has a very big JL install. -
My cars coming upto 4 years old now and due a service, only issue is the service history hant quite followed the proper schedule, so far its.... Registered 15-09-2006 P2 Service 26-06-2008 4140 Miles (so basically skipped the first service or has no record of it in the book) P3 Service 14-09-2009 7886 Miles Current Milage 11600 Being 4 years old it should be P3 now but that was done last year so i'm assuming if i just continue with a P1 next then P2-P1-P3 it'll be fine.

Using the Bose speakers and Sub with new head unit
un1eash replied to Uberdread's topic in I.C.E & Electronics
The alpine 303 should be fine with the volume, its pretty much the same headunit i have but more focused towards ipod uses. I like others fade mainly to the front, about 80% as the rears just are not needed so its not really worth spending alot upgrading them. I was going to get some JL coaxs but the cheapest they do is about £70. The sub is 10" but its an open air subwoofer, its not in an enclosure so i'm not sure how an aftermarket subwoofer would sound in its location. There is alot of space to build a box but squeezing a 10" in there would be tricky due to the shape. -
Using the Bose speakers and Sub with new head unit

Honestly i wouldnt bother replacing the rears and spend money on the fronts and amping them. The Alpine IDA-X303 is Imprint ready and although a little expensive i'd highly recommend the PXA-H100 IMPRINT processor. Theres a tiny amp in the rear that runs the bose speakers, this then sends a signal to the tiny amp that runs the bose sub, i'm not sure if the signal has been filtered at the speaker amp stage or if the sub amp does it itself. -

The standard speakers and sub are not that bad if you run them of a decent aftermarket headunit. I have an alpine 9886R and with the imprint processor doing its thing the bose speakers and sub sounded very good with plenty of bass coming from the bose sub. Although very good I like others wasnt happy as i like my music so i started all over and went JL Audio throughout. Having the sub behind the drivers seat can be annoying as it punches you in the back. -
I knew that, just wasnt sure why someone would think its a faff. Ps. Alpine are easily the best headunits, i mean who wants swimming dolphins

Just got my brand new Japspeed K1 exhaust delivered this morning, was from Ebay and including shipping cost me £180. Will be getting it fitted tonight, i'm expecting to have to do some tweeking once fitted but a few of my mates own garages so wont cost me anything.
-
I'm with elephant and my insurance went up by about £40 by declaring an exhaust, one good thing is its an exhaust/manifold mod so think i'll be getting some sport cats to go with my K1 now aswell as its classed as one mod.
-
As mentioned before you will struggle to find a double din with sat nav for £600 or less, they usually come in at around £1000 for a decent one. I would go alpine but thats just me, if you dont plan on upgrading the speakers and sub the Imprint processor for the alpine headunits does wonders with the bose setup. ps. not to sure what the comment about handbrake cables refers too.

The adaptor you need is.... http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/adaptor_ ... 0-134.html Halfords have limited stock so its hard to say if your local store stock it.

Ive been looking at these exhausts, think i might give one a go if i can get it under £200.

I brought the 2 satin badges from here... viewtopic.php?f=32&t=39368 Fitted the front ok and removed the stock rear to find the new one slightly larger and it doesnt sit flush to the boot, theres too much of a curve. Has anyone else had this problem, i assumed the Z badges were the same front and rear.

It assumes your driving style never changes from the current average. My dad does alot of town driving in his Octavia diesel, when he fills it to go on a long journey it reads 400+ miles, 50 miles of motorway and it starts reading 500+ Ive noticed low down the needle moves around alot depending on how much you throw the car around.

The avh-3200bt has a 4v pre-out so you shouldnt need a line driver.

How many Z's did you see before you found the one?
un1eash replied to jollyranchers's topic in 350Z General
When i say facelift i mean Rev-up 300ps with the "facelift" interior, lights and front bumper. 2007+ difference was the engine and bonnet bulge. -

un1eash replied to jollyranchers's topic in 350Z General
Ive always wanted a 350Z, the other car i always wanted was a Z4 which i had and traded in. I looked at 2 and brought the second one as it ticked all the boxes, i wasnt fussed on colour i just wanted a facelift GT Coupe. With only 10.5k on the clock for a 56 plate with all the extras i couldnt walk away. -
My 350 came fitted with aftermarket black sensors that were fitted by the dealer. One of them didnt work so i looked into replacing them with colour coded ones. Theres a few decent kits available but i went the cheap option and brought a Cisbo kit of ebay for £17 delivered. There grey and not a perfect match but much better then black. I removed the rear bumper as in the guide above which was very easy and fitted the new sensors and control unit. The Cisbo kit works in the exactly same way as the more expensive dealer fit kit so i'm happy. There really is nothing to the kit, just a control unit, a buzzer, 4 sensors and its 2 wires to power the unit of the reverse light.

I found my method of cutting up the old speaker the easiest option but you are limited on mounting depth. The JL's i used are 61.9mm deep and clear the window by about 8-10mm.
