  1. Going off topic slightly but those sci fi films and TV series that predicted all sorts of stuff, some correct but they never got mobiles, social media and coffee machines with capsules.
  2. Leslie Judd where are they now. 1976 was a good year for me. But I hope they don't bring back high waist trousers!!
  3. I don't remember that one but I do remember watching Tomorrow's World for years. Yet again a leap forward and still nobody is interested? It's the same over and over. Frank Whittle and his jet engine and the RAF were not interested?!!!! 'Oh those Japanese cars and motorbikes who would ever want that rubbish'!
  4. Oh sorry should have read the rest of it - I do seem to remember it being black actually (although before even my time ) On a lighter note does anybody remember Hot Rod and Custom magazine in the 80s? I used to get it and model my scalextrix cars. I would get a Revel kit of the GTO the same scale and fit the motor and wheels to the body, customising the body! Happy days ....
  5. Whilst we are on the subject of cool Americana did you see they were selling the Lincoln Continental that JFK was shot in https://www.topgear.com/car-news/usa/jfk’s-old-lincoln-sale I am sorry as much as I love those cars its just bad taste! Should be kept in a museum or stored as part of Whitehouse history display or something. Shame.
  6. They look ace love all that stuff and yes I am old enough to know what they all are too!!
  7. They will still use the 370 door cards to save cost plus the old cassette players from the 350 as a retro feature when in reality they had a warehouse full never sold from 2008! Hopefully by then everyone else will be 3d printings their cars.
  8. More chance of them finally sorting Brexit out by then. I love all this stuff about diamond batteries that never need charging and that 'we are almost there' fusion power stations oh forgot HS2 that will be even more over budget and not completed beyond the first platform. On the plus side the new Zed -pee will finally be cheap enough for us to import.
  9. Maybe I should wear my welding mask? Too hard core? But where does my pipe go?
  10. That's a good idea. Did you have an ejector seat rigged in case they drove off with your pride and joy. I will just sit in the back with a mask I think, Driving Miss Daisy Stylie. I mean the average Rover enthusiast won't be a scroat they will be worried more if their tartan rug matches the leather seats and there is enough room to put their pipe and slippers on the parcel shelf. I can confirm there is enough room. Incidentally I spent a few days polishing it trying to get it looking it's best. Look at that panel fit almost as good as a Lexus not bad for 1965 is it.
  11. Other than the slanted badge on the boot I like it. Even the BIG GRILL! Obviously they have realised if they put plastic there its less paint to stone chip. That will be a prototype put together by ex BL employees who moved to Japan when Triumph got in cahoots with Honda. Obviously they flew the nest and went to Nissan hence the shoddy panel fit.
  12. Latest video with it in the flesh/metal as it were? https://youtu.be/P4YExT6sBMc
  13. So when politicians turn up outside Number 10 in those big Jags or Range Rovers I assume they are some prototype electric ones for special people like politicians ? Incidentally Classic cars are exempt from all this inner city foolishness,(for now) if only you knew someone with a classic car that's going for sale soon? Oops who put this picture here? If these were good enough for Maggie they will be good enough for Boris!
  14. Oh dear! The battery is too close to the petrol tank? They never thought that might be a problem? I am surprised companies still make these sorts of mistakes? https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/article-8832347/Ford-recalls-thousands-plug-hybrid-Kuga-SUVs-fire-concerns.html
  15. Sounds like you are really enjoying your Tesla ownership experience. Good luck with the upgrade and don't get those gps folding mirrors scuffed ! Maybe do a post tell us what your car is like post upgrade?
  16. Completely agree I worry about this fixation that computers and now (AI) will just fix everything. I suppose it's the same when they thought Science would solve everything in the 50s? They forget a car is a dangerous thing, it can kill easily so any sloppy tech or lazy programming with flaws rushed out to get ahead of the competition is incredibly dangerous, Boeing 737 Max a case in point. I am not keen on autonomous cars but I can see their advantages to help people with limited mobility for example but I worry more about them being hacked and taken over? Everything is hackable if you spend enough time and effort on it. I need to borrow Doogey Revs tin hat. Btw at which point in time did car manufacturers decide you shouldn't bother to close your own boot that a motorized boot is a must have? Victorian Stan steps off soap box.
  17. This is for the ultimate lazy ar#e people which lets face it there are lots of. Tesla must have a think tank somewhere and half of them must be under a certain age where they MUST have something that involves an App and a mobile phone. It'sjust to show you they can do something like this so when their cars are reviewed it grabs attention. For me if I had paid all that money for a car I wouldn't trust it or want it to do anything like that. Then again I work in the IT industry so I know how bad computer tech can be. I have this idea of sticking a USB port onto loo roll and selling them on fleabay. I expect to make millions... now what shall I call the app? Ar#e-tech
  18. Trying it on in Manchester too. Ironically my 2015 VW T5 fails emissions whilst the 5 litre V8 passes. I think the pandemic has put an end to the town centre.
  19. I am guessing its a new car to you? Ok you should have a certificate, booklet or at least sticker in the window somewhere with the name of the immobilizer brand and then you should be able to figure out the sequence. Good luck.
  20. Joe they look like they could be immobilizers? Do you have a plastic tab with your keys? You need to touch the bottom one maybe and press the top at the same time? Depends on the make?
  21. Wow!! I found someone who is a worse petrol addict than me! Both me and my other half had 350's although like you I originally got a brand new 2004 RX8 and had to wait 6 months for delivery. Black with red interior loved it, but 2 weeks before delivery was due I was made redundant! Decided to keep it and luckily found a job. If you look at my signature the cars I had since 2001 my first new car MR2. (More before then but classics). I think you have done really well with your zeds and I was considering a 370 Nismo in storm white but plumped for the Mustang which was mixture of right timing and circumstances, love it, maybe give one a try they are very zed like. (Hint ) Good luck with your car journey.
  22. Excellent hope you enjoy it. They are loveable bruisers wish I still had mine but family life meant 2 seaters don't work with 3!
  23. I suppose just get the car ready advertised and be sensible and use a mask as you say. See what happens with buyers just classic cars tend to attract the tyre kickers more so than modern tin.
  24. Being completely unbiased of course but certain models of bright colour cars seem to help after sales. Ok I got mine in British Gas Blue because it's my all time favourite colour not for resale but thinking about it they don't use that colour anymore unless it's the first edition etc. A few years down the line I am hoping it will be more saleable than the more common colours. Remember that similar blue the 370z was released in, you can't find them anymore and there was a time they sold super quick. Your viper green will probably be the same thing? Avoid the webuyanycar places though they won't pay the going rate. Other option is vinyl wrapping but that is probably as expensive as a respray?
  25. Welcome! Zed looks mint and that's low miles for the age. Hope you enjoy it.
