  1. Think mine is 425 or something but the newer ones are more then of course the special editions with silly hp!
  2. Having been in the club since 2007 (man and boy!) It's quite amusing to see exactly the same conversations about the Z-P as we did when the 370 came out? Although I never owned a 370 I did look at buying a Nismo version but plumped for the Mustang for various reasons. As 350 owners we complained about various aspects of the 370 yet in reality it's supposed to be a better handling better quality car than the 350? The 350 was a decent classic shaped coupe was priced well and caused a stir with this natty door handles and the scratchy interior which we moaned about but was actually pretty robust on the whole if a little dated as far as the radio package was concerned. But a damn solid reliable car. The 370 was basically styled after a shark because the designer watched a TV programme about them ( what if he was into porn?!!) So everyone hated that grill and everyone started putting black vinyl on the lower lip to make it more GTRish but anyway people got used to it and the interior was a massive step up from the 1979 black plastic of the 350. When the 370z replacement rumours started a few years ago, will it won't it, there is talk of a turbo, what a turbo how very dare they! Anyway here we are with the new one and once again everyone is making very similar comments sadly times have changed, the world is different, greenies think we should drive milk floats now and everyone is playing catch up. I agree with the previous comments this is the swansong of the classic coupe sport/gt car as we know it. All the German stuff is just getting so expensive and full of digital tech, I think it's lost its way to accountants and market research groups. Do you really want a slick looking coupe that can park itself, has 5000 digital toys to play with and will stop / start every time you stop at lights no I want a simple honest car with traditional good fun and handling. This is why the MX5 continues to be so good, it stuck to its basic recipe and is affordable. I think the 350 is already heading to be a future classic, there are enough club members on here who did look after them, not all were modded to death? My Mustang ironically embodies what my 350 did. It's not ground breaking but it's got soul which is what I think Zeds have and TT's and others don't. The German stuff drives so well is so precise it's kind of boring. The Stang will remind me who's boss sometimes but that may be down to the crap P zeros it came with.
  3. Hmm ok in that case let's stick 'Vote for Trump' stickers on it, surely the pirates will just feel sorry for us and think ,' poor delusional sods have enough problems already' and sail on.
  4. Well it looks like someone already has made a boat from a shipping container? https://www.budgetshippingcontainers.co.uk/sales/shipping-container-pontoons/ See it can be done, we just need to buy a few link them together with cable ties, pop a zed inside each one saving a fortune in shipping costs and flying the UK Club flag! Ha stick that Nissan. Erm can anyone speak or write Japanese?
  5. I don't think the zed is that sort of car is it? Maybe a 60s Aston or Jag for the Gentleman fisherman, whilst your average Jack the lad zed owner will be more interested to see how soon they can wear the tread off the tyres on the nearest roundabout.
  6. Sadly not for me too expensive. My Stang will see me out as far as petrol sports/gt cars go. They will tax or ban us from cities eventually not least try and get us off the road because of loud exhausts (ahem) either way if you don't go down the electric route you are stuffed. Did you hear about them suggesting putting the price up for petrol cars so electric seem cheaper? Honestly that must have been a Friday night after a drinking session special that one? So sadly no new zed for me even if they do eventually ship them here, unless they do a cracking part ex on the Stang.
  7. I was one of them! haha! I loved my coupe (think its still alive on here somewhere?) but Infiniti made so many mistakes! Shame they had the potential to eat into the Lexus/BMW brigade here. Only sold my coupe because my daughter outgrew the back , with its raked window, very well made car better than the Nissan equivalent although made on the same production line as the 370 I think? Infiniti never advertised and when they did it was too little too late. They were all petrol engines which this country generally didn't like. They didn't get into the company fleet car market until the end. When they finally put in diesel engines (think they were merc ones?) VW came along and spoilt that for everyone. Because they were geared up for the American market lets say some of the cars looked very 1990's blobby to say the least. On the plus side you got treated really well at the dealers on a par with Lexus. The cars had plenty of tech and no cassette players like in Nissan!! I had a q50 hybrid top of the range to use for the day and did it fly!! Not the best looking car but full of kit made the Star ship Enterprise look like a washing machine. Anyway I digress shame to see them go but they shot themselves in their own feet eejiots! So are we getting a petition together then - Nissan don't abandon your UK zedders
  8. Ohh ohh where did that come from? See told you there would be a design already floating about! If they do the powered roof where you can drive say up to 30mph and not be sat with foot on the brake whilst its peeing down on you I will be happy! Damn I miss my 350 ragtop.
  9. Sadly I think you are right about the running out of ideas. I think all manufacturers are just killing time until they all go full electric. They have to keep the factories going so I recon all the cars that are petrol now will be parts specials and variations on themes. I am just glad the Japs take their time and companies like Mazda for example are still working on engine designs not least the Rotary. I have a bad feeling eventually electric cars will be treated just like white goods are today, unless they come up with cool looking stuff that still has soul. Yes the Honda E looks cool but it's not like the prototype which looked fantastic, yet it's no good to me with that limited range.
  10. I think they already have a roadster design as well as a Nismo type. Its taken them years to do the design. Not being a car designer by trade of course but I expect they have assorted variants based on whatever the designers came up with? Surely they must have a 'Mood Wall' with post it notes at the side? Do you think they will get into that 1970s vibe, smoking copious amounts of fags drinking Scotch swearing like troopers, wearing kipper ties and flowery polyester shirts? But enough about me...
  11. Well you have to keep those poor kids in the lithium mines in work don't you, then of course ship it around the world belching diesel fumes but it's ok because electric cars are made from fallen leaves and old celery and powered by the power from angel farts. We are saved! Then again only the rich can afford those cars and the rest of us have to make do with our petrol bangers. Sorry went off on one there. I hope Porsche gets somewhere with their fuel research in the meantime.
  12. They better get their skates on we have until 2035 for petrol then it's toast. Now there is this big fuss over hybrids being worse than just petrol, FFS get developing that synthetic fuel made from cabbage so we can save the planet before we have to endure another David Attenborough 'The end is nigh' special.
  13. I always liked the 240 best probably because being a car nut from age 3 (according to my mum) it was such a rare thing to see but I had a toy one in the 70s and always loved the shape especially the headlights. (Sad I know) the rest not really that bothered until my 350 of course. I am not usually keen on cars that have bits from previous models stuck on to emphasize the lineage but I do think they did a good job on this one. I don't even mind the Mr Bean yellow.
  14. The colour has been bugging me, either BL Primrose Yellow or they got inspiration from Mr Beans mini? https://nationalmotormuseum.org.uk/vehicle-collection/mr-beans-mini/
  15. It's only worth doing all of this IF they have kept the tape player in the stereo, won't be a proper Zed otherwise? Anyway there are still enough people on here in the shipping industry? I am sure we can duct tape some spare tyres to a few containers and power them along with a second hand outboard off fleabay? Paint a Russian logo on the side and you get a free RAF escort through the shipping channels!! I got it all planned out, just make sure you bring enough pot noodle and a kettle to keep you going.
  16. Do it!!! Me and my other half would have one? By the time we can get one in the UK maybe even my 10 year old would have passed her test, it could be her first car!! Imagine the insurance cost on that?
  17. The problem with the Alpine is the £50k + price tag yet you can get the same fun in an Mx5 for less than half the price? Renault like most manufacturers trade on past history and labels to market alternative brands to get the money in. DS for example for Citroen. The Zed was always supposed to be an honest reasonably priced fun sports car if it goes towards the £45k+ price tag it will fail here. Anyway nothing will happen until the actual first production model is out and reviewed by all those moaning YouTubers in the states Let's be thankful Nissan decided to stick with a Zed, SUVs might be king as far as sales are concerned but we cant all live on pie and chips sometimes a bit of exotic kebab is a nice change. Forgot to mention my other half has an M2 and it's ace, fun performance handling yet rear seats and a decent boot - you can have both rice and chips!
  18. I think someone mentioned earlier if they are building a RHD one for the home market, what more do they need change the number plate mount and Speedo for mph job done! Maybe we should set up a club import company and do it ourselves haha.
  19. About bleeding time, do you think they got a new advertising executive with all this drip feeding video, someone who grew up on social media? Overall I like the look of it and probably you will need to see it in the flesh to appreciate it. I really hope they get away from.black interiors, we need a splash of colour at some point? I think our 18 year old advertising executive will also have thought up the 'lets get people demanding it in Europe/UK markets' hence why America will get it before anyone else? Knock them out en masse, pay for the tooling and so on then roll it out here. It's not that uncommon otherwise Doogierev will have a nice business line. But sticking with my Stang for the foreseeable future until they tax me off the roads. Stay safe everyone.
  20. Well I think this is the 2 pronged attack to get the public into leccie cars. Go for electric classics or interesting performance cars for the petrol heads or should that be Battery heads, and the boring but practical blobs for everyone else. Sort the batteries , drop the price fix the infrastructure and generate the leccie by so called clean means and I might be tempted.
  21. I still think this was just an experiment drawn up by someone who thought The Trueman Show was a documentary!!! Dumbing down, social media and the requirement of filling 24 hour news chanels with content, helps to breed all this rubbish. Far right parties/ groups have noticed this and use it to their advantage. Feed people enough junk and they will believe it! Strangely they DID believe it and look how the country has suffered and will continue to suffer for decades. My 9 year old daughters future is affected by this cr@p! I get so angry with the politicians and the press, even the BBC have dumbed down on their news website. Have you noticed when something happens no matter what ,they feel the need to have an explanation thread for 5 year olds? News story ' Plane crashes over the sea' Thread following the article. 'Why do planes crash?' then goes into 101 things about why planes crash and what can be done about it but with a childlike simplicity! We have covered politicians already but they forget why they were elected to serve the people not themselves. I am just glad Spitting Image is coming back, sadly watching the news already covers their humourous stories which are sometimes so hard to believe you think it was just a TV show but we cant see the cameras yet?
  22. I wonder how many of those zeds are now recycled as Whirlpool driers or washers!
