  1. It's been spotted a million times but not for sale! So do you dare me to buy it????
  2. seen this loads of times - but I maybe tempted to sell all my stocks and shares to buy it - just cos I can
  3. Met a mate for lunch today - he's got a BMW 330 turbo - very nice, very fast and HUGE amounts of torque. Anyway, we both pulled away from the pub car park at the same time and both floored it for a bit of fun and I red-lined in in 1st, 2nd and 3rd (its was very nice to see him way behind me in my rear view mirror ) - however in the first 3 gears the slip light was flashing; no real surprise there, but about 30 seconds later as I slowed down to take a corner (no brakes, just backed off the throttle in 4th gear) the slip light started flashing again - I wasn't going too fast for the corner, in fact it was a long corner which I could have normally gone a hell of a lot faster around - but for some reason the slip light came on again and I lost power and it screwed up my approach - my heart skipped a few beats as I thought I was going to spin. After work this evening something similar happened - I had to stop for fuel and its a bit of a pig to pull out of the garage onto a very busy main road - so once again it was red-line in 1st, 2nd and 3rd - once I knew I wasn't pissing off the car I pulled out in front of I throttled back, slowed down as I hit a bend, and the bloody slip light flashed and once again broke my line and I thought I was going to spin the car. I have had my Zed for 3 years now, and have never experienced this before - it seems as though the ECU has a 'lag' issue, and is reacting very slowly. I haven't had a chance to really floor it recently cos of the weather - and the only thing I have had done recently is 20mm Eibach spacers fitted and 4 wheel laser alignment. My wheels are stock and tyres are Pirelli PZeros on all corners. Any ideas??? EDIT: I replaced the rear off-side shock last week (thanks Mark) - could this be the issue - swapping JDM shock for UK?? (Mark, was the one you gave me JDM or UK??)
  4. See it nearly every day, but today we were side by side at the traffic lights so I gave him a flyer - he asked about meets etc - pretty sure he will sign up now
  5. Thats because you drive Noddy's car with tiny wheels I know Its on my mod list.....Coilovers first, wheels next (in time for the summer)
  6. I run Rosso on rear and Assymetric on front - great tyres and I can get them for £75each on a 17"
  7. send to (moderator note - personal details removed to protect you from spam bots etc. ) I should be able to have a play later on today...
  8. TBH - the Autosol metal polish I use brings it up really nice, but there is no protection in it - gonna try the Megs next
  9. Nice one Chris - I will get some today
  10. is it not stainless? Its supposed to be!! When I say rust - its only surface and can be wiped off with my finger etc (maybe Mark or Dan can describe better as they saw it Saturday)
  11. I'm loving my new K1 exhaust - but what with the salt on the roads and wet weather it discolours very quickly, and needs polishing at least once a week. So, my question is - is there anything I can put on it after its been polished (Autosol) to prevent the orange 'rusty' discolouration? cheers, David
  12. So many people have made plans for the Wales run I think its very unfair to change dates now - just my opinion...
  13. I think I am going to GAME tomorrow and buy every current release game and stick them in a safety deposit box and leave in my will for my kids - you never know!
  14. but its far far more efficient and can run clean i believe via photo-detonation, also it can run on a much larger range of fuels as it can achieve a higher pressure which allows less volatile mixtures to burn. correct me if im wrong as thats from memory. what do you mean by move away from internal combustion? you mean electric? we are so hung up on the internal combustion engine because theres so much industry supported by the demand for oil to run it. I think the big oil companies are preventing/blocking development of other technologies because they will lose money. There are lots of other technologies that could filter down to the humble car owner such as cold fusion etc. Apparently there is enough energy in a tea-spoon of water to meet the energy requirement of a small city for a week using fusion/fision technology.
  15. from what I can see - it is still internal combustion though? http://www.howstuffworks.com/quasiturbine.htm I really thought that will our current technology, we would have moved away from that after 100 years
  16. It makes me sick that people have so much money to waste on something so useless. Antiques I can understand, buying a piece of history - I used to buy and sell antique furniture as a hobby many years ago, a lot of pieces I kept - owning something 400 odd years old means something to me. I actually bought my ex-wife an amulet in Egypt from a dodgy dealer for £75 - when we got home the British Museum dated it to be 100BC - RESULT!!!! This would never be sold though - its a REAL piece of history. Anyway, I digress - spending all that money on a 20 year old crappy computer game is totally mad!
  17. Good find and a great insight for us non-engineer types! I knew how a standard engine worked, but always wondered about the rotary engine (Wankel), as I nearly bought an RX8, but decided in the 350 instead. It amazes me that the internal combustion engine is 100 odd years old, and we are still using it!
  18. Bout 46 beers isnt it!! Good to meet you Dave and glad we could have been of assistance! How was the drive back with the ECU reset? Heard you giving it a little test The car definitely felt as if it had a bit more 'poke' and the cornering was soooo much better after replacing that shock. I went back the way you said, got to the Shell garage but couldn't find the tracking place - so I will get it done locally soon. Thanks again matey

  20. All sorted now - it was the shock - big thanks to Mark for donating a shock, and to Mark and Dan for fitting it for me It was good to meet you both today - top chaps and I owe you both a beer
  21. I have also reviewed coilovers recently - initially looked at BC racing, then others like KW etc - but I think I have decided to just go for Eibach 30mm drop springs - £200 vs £1000+ Short term solution due to budget - coilovers will come soon when I can afford
  22. Just watched this - absolutely brilliant! This wont be everyone's cup of tea - but I found it very intense and gripping, and also very emotional. Considering this was a low budget film, I am not surprised it beat Avatar (Very high budget film!) at recent awards Basically, its about a team of American Bomb Disposal chaps in Iraq. The film has a similar feel as 'Black Hawk Down' but has different plot - in fact there is no plot - its more like a 3rd person documentary. It's how I would imagine real life in Iraq - very scary. For a low budget film, the cinematography was superb. There was no really known actors in it - apart from Guy Pearce from Neighbours (many years ago) and he died in the first 10 mins! and Kate from LOST - who we saw at the end for 30 seconds! All in all, a great film, and highly recommended David
  23. Top job Chris edit: did mine turn up today?
  24. Also interested in this - I want to tint my rear lens but was advised against this as its dangerous with normal bulbs in (not enough light) - I would hope the LEDS are a lot brighter making this feasible?
  25. James -is it the super bright one here http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/501-W5W-LED-Bulbs/ ? If not where did you get yours? Cheers, David
