  1. good point Sarnie, as I having never broken the speed limit I just assumed it was done during the SVA I did think it was part and parcel with the mileage conversion - as in other imports but seem to remember something about this being a can system or simiilar so it cant be done as normal R.E. tank size always I thought it was 70 litres - will check in when next I run her dry then fill her up to the brim sound a bit pervy now I've written it down
  2. you will find all your answers and more in the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) section but you car will run on 95 fine (ignition will self adjust) the suspension is stiffer then the uk counterparts I believe (harsher ride but better handling) the fuel tank is a lot larger on the JDMs. Insurance will cost a little more than the UK versions but not much - look at Bell insurance (easy tick box quote) being an import most insurers dont like them although 99% of car indentical - infact JDM version limited to 112 mph (as are all jap cars) but this is removed when its converted to read mph during your SVA. Also look out for when the car was registered (imported) into the UK - needs to be before 2006 to get cheaper road fund licence (dont know exact date )
  3. Merry xmas everyone hope youve had a good un so far just checking in with the status of my replacement "small battery" - we have a really bad cold spell for the last 7 to 10 days (dont have to tell you that) somedays when going to work early doors it was -7'C but its started every time, never skipped a beat - so if you need a battery dont worry about getting a small low power battery for an import
  4. at £150 a tad expensive and it wont fit the 350z jap model , infact couldnt find it listed for the 350z at all
  5. Well I had to get one so went and got a replacement today as mine was a jap import the terminals were smaller so the only one that would fit was one for a 2.0 hyundai amongst other cars, it was that or replace the terminal leads and connections CCA is only 330 and 45Amps but it fits the tiny little battery tray and it does the trick - its a Moterquip Powercharge from the local Motor factors cost about £50 and has a 3 year warrenty
  6. I know thanks , already found his post but no info in there and PM'd him he cant remember as got shot of the car the neg terminal is crimped so would have to be cut off leaving it too short ,so thats a no-no he said get the biggest one you can fit in just thought one of you could have a look at your battery to see if there is any info on it
  7. Hi, does anybody have to hand the battery figures Ie Ah / Cold crank start / LxWxH of the battery as Ive got a jap import and need to get a replacement as close to it as possible as mine has died
  8. Does this mean there is an outside chance of me getting my car serviced by you at the end of Feb? How do you mean a better responce - beter service , cheaper service ? and fletch how better off by £85 - are you in the N/east - do you know anybody who does servicing
  9. Sorry if Im being stupid but which pads did you get - type 01R / M/ Z ?
  10. only changed the fronts on mine - but again some slight pad brakedown with about 28K on them (jdm brembos)
  11. do them yourself mate they are easy - if you dont mind getting your hands dirty and have a spare hour . That reminds me I must get that "how to" guide posted on here
  12. Or increase the interest I dont have a loan and i am not in debt You must have put in a lot of overtime stacking those shelves
  13. wow a student that can afford a 350z - I think its about time we reduced those interest free loans
  14. Hi any tips on doing this as its out of warranty (it a JDM) and I will have a go myself if its not to difficult. I presume the interior door card has to be removed to get at it - does anybody have any instructions how to do this, havent checked the guides yet it may be in there
  15. Oh and JDM's with Brembo's use exactly the same pads as UK models
  16. I had Nanking NSII's on my FTO, In the wet I might as well have been on an ice rink covered in oil - to use these on this car with this much power and RWD your committing suicide really dont get them if your after a cheap tyre go for khumo or falken
  17. My door is really clever its learned how to whistle at 70mph and above (not that I ever do that on public roads officer). coming from the window rubber contact but I'll be buggered if I can narrow it down, if I press on the window the gap widens and it stops whistling but lets more air in. Going to take the door seal off over weekend and refit see if it helps anybody else got any ideas
  18. some really clever shots in there , third one my fav looks like its sat on black ice
  19. some really clever shots in there , third one my fav looks like its sat on black ice
  20. To be fair the worst pad was about 75% worn but they did the usual garage thing saying the discs are marked and could do with changing but today wasnt a bad day, dry at least so I thought I get some pads and fit them. I just went to the local motor factors as he had some mintex replacement pads in stock, fitted them in about 1.5hr and that with taking photos for a "how to guide", having a sticky guide pin, cleaning the calipers down and going to pick them up from the shop and two cups of tea Absolute doddle really, dont pay anybody to do this for you if you have a spare hour one day.
  21. no Im not doing big mileage , I know the FPs are for over 18K a year but they are just the same as p services and they are cheaper - go figure also mines an import so no warranty to consider (fp1 doesnt have all the inspect parts but fp2 and fp3 same as P equiv) Looking at my service check sheet they did a P1 on it anyway but stamped book with FP1 The girl on the service desk got confused as it was an import and has a mix of km and miles 40k on clock but 31K is km - so its only done 27K miles and its a march 05 so about average do know about L services got any info
  22. very unhappy 05 march owner here Ive got an import and the winkers at the DVLA class its reg date as 07 when it was imported into UK so just got a £400 road tax bill , strange though they wouldnt left me put an 07 plate on it
  23. Alright guys - I've also got a JDM import - 35th anniversary model fitted with brembos (same as GT4) do these take the same pads as all uk spec Zeds, just had a service done and they estimate 80% wear so also on the look out for front pads, how much for a set of ferodo ds performance then
  24. Ok here are the prices for service intervals for Evans Halshaw in Middlesbrough, cargo fleet lane. I've had a word with the customer service manager and he will reduce these prices by 15% for members they just need a copy of the confirmation Email he sent me - message me for a copy and tell him John told you about it on the owners forum P1 = £178 - 15% = 151.30 P2 = £245 - 15% = 208.75 P3 = £298 - 15% = 253.30 FP1 = £148 - 15% = 125.80 FP2 = £215 - 15% = 182.75 FP3 = £268 - 15% = 227.80 good prices with the discount me thinks and they will drop you off home, work or in Middlesbrough town centre and pick you up when its done
