  1. R35LEE sorted me out a couple of years ago with a similar incident. Drop him a PM
  2. I took it to Nissan to have a look while I got my P3 service. They kept the car for 3 days after diagnosing it with a similar description to Michael's above. Throttle body was cleaned and a re-learn procedure carried out. Seemed to have worked... for a week. Been on the phone to them again to get the car in again. I'm beginning to lose my patience now. They're nice people, but they seem to have a knack for not calling you back! I'm going to chase again next week and will update. There is a video on youtube on how to clean a throttle body and relearn for a G35 which I assume is the same engine.
  3. No bad... Might hunt me down a set.
  4. Haha... I had a similar incident of Sunday. Met a girl for a drink for the first time. I'd parked behind her Merc CLC (which she was really proud of btw so couldn't really comment!). Once in the bar she asked me what car I drove. It took me a flash of my keys to convince her it was a Nissan. Oh the look of disappointment on her face... priceless!
  5. The reason you don't see them in London and the South East is because people (are bankers people?) would rather spend their bonuses on something more prestigious. Since I've moved back to the Midlands I do see them more often. There's a black one down the road from me in Perton. Milesh - you can add me to your Z-spotting. I travel through Wolves daily now!
  6. DBA discs with DS pads seems to be a popular combo on here doesn't it? Is it the most effective? CS is your website offline?
  7. Wow I really thought it was more sophisticated than that!
  8. Why at a consistent idle would the rate of petrol being consumed increase? Not really that self explanatory methinks...
  9. You know what the green TMC logo wasn't coming on when I first bought the car. I got Nissan to take a look and it's worked ever since. If there are major incidents, the roads turn red and if there is slow traffic you get a yellow line.
  10. At lunch time yesterday I went into the car park for a snooze. Felt a bit nippy. Turned on the engine to keep toasty. 25 minutes later I had noticed my mpg had gone from 22.2 to 21.9 by just idling away!
  11. I was pretty miffed that they didn't change much from the 296bhp to the 313bhp versions. Yes it's old and archaic but at the same time I have found it to be one of the most accurate sat nav's out there. The TMC function is a god send and has saved me on countless occassions travelling to and from inner London. Even when there's a pile up on the M40, it has quickly registered it and diverted. I know some sat nav have failed to warn me of such occassion and sometimes are overly cautious by redirecting you when there is nothing there in the first place! I questioned the joystick also but think about it... the way the Z rides on British roads, imagine the frustration of having to tap in an address while trying to reign in your hands involuntary movements! I think the joystick is the perfect compromise. The OS makes it easier by only highlighting the letters available when you're entering an address so that does compensate for lack of post code entry. Most post code entry systems require you to enter the street anyway so again that defeats the purpose. I'm looking forward to Cookbot's project.
  12. Interesting... I always assumed 35psi would be the norm for all tyres but I guess the compound will make a difference. Hadn't thought of that!
  13. Can someone explain what the benfits are to adding a spacer to the throttle body? I have looked around but I can't seem to find why people are doing it.
  14. Oh and another thing. If you've invested in brakes and discs to help you stop better, putting on a mid range tyre kind of defeats the object doesn't it? I would save and go premium. You can't afford to scrimp on the only point of contact with the road.
  15. Just to throw another one in the mix here. I had the original Bridgestone RE050A's which were very skittish in the wet. I changed to Falken 452's just to see what the fuss was about. Let's just say you get what you pay for. I then discovered ContiSport 3's. These bad boys are a god send. And the only reason I went for these was because the PS2's were not available in the size at the time. They won EVO's trye test last year.
