  1. Ok peeps found the VIN plate, if anybody else is looking for it on theirs, mine was on the left hand side of the engine bay viewed from the front of the car, just under / behind where the strut brace is attached its attached with 2 plastic tamper proof rivets and to be honest I don't know how I missed it Many thanks all
  2. I have the chassis number off the bulk head panel in the center - at the rear of the engine below the window pane - Z33 etc etc. It is the engine number I'm after and I cant seem to find any off the stickers you refer to, only ones on the door frame seem to be in Japanese and they are just tyre pressures, no stickers at all on the rear hatch!!!???
  3. Hi all just picked up my new 350Z (import) but my paranoid insurer (AFlux) needs to know the engine number - anybody point me in the right direction?, I will post up some pics later once I give it a good going over.

    2007 / 2008 quote

When I rang admiral end of last month - I was told they have stop insuring imports, now someone says they are insuring Whats the score are they or not
  5. When a thread is moved , where does it go???????????????
  6. Ok, I'll start the ball rolling Mine was a £300 S reg Chrysler Alpine - beat that but I do have some fond memories of that piece a crap - like when the gearbox fell off it on the way to Whitby Oh and it was a nice off white colour with a black vinyl roof and wait for it - a nice brown / burnt orange interior Jesus, I must have been colour blind
  7. sorry nixy my mistake that should have been right hand drive
  8. PS All cars are not classed as PLG they are classed a PC (petrol car), imports are classed as PLG - but suposedly only if they are right hand drive!!!!!! or have no emissions data then they go on engine size 0 to 1550cc and 1550 and above , please explain that one to me?
  9. Just out of interest ming did you register the car yourself? and does / did your renewal have any emissions data on it? As I've stated previously, mines 1st registered in Japan in march 2005 and is registered over here as a PLG but they are trying to charge me band G based on the emissions - they want it all ways. thieving scumbags
  10. that should be MODS obviously
  11. what modes you got ? is it a base S / T / ST ?

    2007 / 2008 quote

Thats a bloody great price considering 3 years NCD - I just beat ya but I am ten years older and have 11NCD Who that with ?
  13. Does that mean I can register my car as a 2007 model since I'm going to pay 2007 model road tax The DVLA suck
  14. Nice one Stu who you with? put a few details up please
  15. Thanks for the imput Trev but it did say IMPORTS ONLY Trying to keep this for JDM Zeds A few more details though peeps your age (dont be shy), car model, car year, NCD, claims , convictions, wife / husband included, restricted miles. What about Bell / Admiral - I read somewhere they only do base models is that correct?
  16. Thanks, that good to hear To be honest I stopped looking after I got that but I was trying to get all import quotes in one place just to help give others a reference point when they come to insure their imports. Doesn't look like there are many willing to input though which is a shame , still its early days and I am always the optimist. Come on Fairlady owners, put your details up, because its a pain trailing through all the non import quotes out there as I am sure you've all found out in the past.
  17. UK - Freda Payne - Band Of Gold US - I'll be there - The Jackson 5 Oh dear I'm gettin on a bit, time for midlife crisis - I think I'll buy a sports car 21 - (Everything I Do) I Do It For You - Bryan Adams but then again it was a no 1 all year
  18. Alright Greg, I'm just up the road, (literally) I live in Stokton. I'm currently importing a Zed from Japan, so I'm a bit new to this as well. Im using Bonsaicars but Ive heard nothing but good report about JM imports, which would have the added benifit of landing the car at Newcastle as opposed to the other end of the country(Southampton) for Bonsai. For your budget you'll have no problem getting an almost new imported Zed (Fairlady).
  19. IMPORTED ZEDS ONLY PLEASE What the best quote anybody has got for an imported Fairladyz just got a quote for my 350z import (Fairlady) - Cat 1 alarm - full body kit This is my first time insuring the Z but looks reasonable 36 years old 11 years no claims no points no claims plus the Mrs 34 years old 3 points (SP60) 1 claim (theft from) Adrian Flux = £505 with full body kit (weren't bothered by the kit as its cosmetic) but I was already insured with them. What was really interesting was that when I rang AFlux on the normal line and I didnt mention I was already with them they quoted £1239 Post any Z import insurers below and your quotes / particulars / model / anything you think relevant really PS tried privilage and they dont do imports any more, Sky was £741
  20. Surely thats immoral and possibley illegal They are charging you/me the tax rate for a NEW July 2007 350z which ours is not, in fact has it even got the same engine or emissions as the engines were changed in 2006 (I believe). So at the very most it should be classed the same as a UK car of the same age not higher - Band F - just as UK Zeds would be if they are registered before march 2006. I'm still trying to fight this but these fraudsters (DVLA) wont back down Fancy getting a petition going for all imported Zeds moderators - this is just not right
  21. Whoever you were taking to at the DVLA is talking out of their arse. There is no mention in any literature I've read of its first UK registration, only its first registration and that would be in Japan and this of course is what plate the car is on. The date of 1st registration is the Jap registration, not its UK registration or that would mean a car could be 20-30 years old and still be charged as if it were brand new - I'd like to see them get some CO2 figures for cars over 20 years old so we need a pre March 2006 model and a post March 2006 model to sort this out - anybody out there who would like to settle this. What do you pay in VED (road tax to the rest of us)?????????? PS nixxy, you were lucky that you got away with that, I’ve got an FTO Jap import at present and that’s registered as a PLG as well – tax is due soon as well so I’ll have a look to see how much it is.
  22. So much for the beach then - the one who must be obeyed has spoken
