what would you replace it with? a diesel R8

+1 does sound like the fuel pump is being immobilised, the whir is the pump priming the system so it is under pressure and ready to start have you got a spare key you can use ? incase its a problem with the transponder chip

this is covered on 350z.com, not something i would attempt due to the cost if you over cook them

difficult to say if it was the thrust bearing, its very possible as they are an issue on the zed, if it does it again dip the clutch - if the noise goes it likely to be the bearing

Sign of the times. 12 months ago, the zed was the performance bargain for the price. Petrol prices plus tax increase has pushed the cost of ownership outside of some....... +1 painfully true good luck with the sale andy

the noise is the thrust bearing, a common trait on the zed, being notchy is unusual as the clutch is hydraulic and uses slave cylinder to operate

to do the footwell lighting - If you take the A-pillar cover off the passenger side, you will see a socket with 3 wires on it connect the live to the red and black and the neg to the switched earth on the pink the lights will work exactly as the interior lights do, on when unlocked via the remote and fade when locked
