  1. in the words of the most revered car journo EVER . Mr Clarkson once said, Illustrating the lack of power of a Boxster - 'It couldn't pull a greased stick out of a pig's bottom' But he likes the 350Z... so that's it, end of debate... the porker, sucks
  2. Yep, been bitten by the "ring" bug, I want MORE ... But now i realise the value of a PS2 and learning the bends on the console...I am sure the game will not show the fact that you cannot see any 90% of the bends exits, but at least it will help with knowing whats coming... SO I will be off to purchase a PS (2 or 3, not sure yet...) in Sept. So October maybe have another quick visit... specially considering it takes me less time to get there than it would to get to Edinburgh! I saw the 75 experience driving school and saw them being thrashed around the ring... might be interested in doing it again... I had to pitch the t-shirt in there, had to wear the white one... sorry for the poor modelling skills...I could not find any hottie there to do the posing...
  3. well I made it there and back in one piece... ferry crossing to calais was easy and completely hassle free. I took the Lille>Charleroy->Liege->Aachen->Koln route to get there and from Bedford to Koln including the ferry 1.5 hour crossing, and hour stop in Charleroy for lunch, we got there in 8 hours flat obeying all speed limits (in the continent 100%... oh yes...and the in UK of course...) Following day spent in Koln until 15:00 and then headed to the'ring...for 17:00 public open time... After stocking up at the fan shop and the petrol station (much cheaper...) ... we went to the starting point... only to find Sarnie's car...and a few other interesting cars... the weather was wet. and not particularly good... and after a few tries my best time in the wet was 12.5 minutes... this is only after a few runs...not great... but I was scared enough and the car needs a good rest after each couple of runs...everything "smells" too hot ( clutch brakes and the exhaust was "pinging" away nicely) The following day went driving around the Eifel Region and checked koblenz , Berg Eltz , nurburg, and adenau (good call VAL, , but should have mentioned the vertical descent and climb to get to it...) later that day we went to observe the ring for a bit...by this time we spotted sarnie slightly "paler" after being round the ring ( I guess he found it scary as well) The day was sh!t, and it started pouring and the fog got worse so in the end gave up on the idea on going on the ring and doing 50kph round it... it was crap.crap.crap weather Anyway.. i was a bit gutted of not having more time on the ring...but drove back to koln through some of the best b roads I have ever been on... very cool... After this headed towards brugge and calais for a few days etc.. and back Overall Weather The Ring Germany Belgium Beer Autobahn (derestricted) (125+mph) and finally the only 2 zeds spotted... in Koln only Thanks for all the advice... and can't wait for the next trip to the continent...
  4. I'll take them of your hands no problems...
  5. Congratulations... and as a gift to help you moderate some of the individuals in this forum please feel free to use the following...
  6. put them on ebay... 1 p no reserve and 1 pound postage, and I am sure someone will buy them...
  7. I cannot say i know much about the Novidem supercharger but as far as I understand : 1- The novidem Supercharger is the only one which has gone through the whole TUV homologations etc... probably a fundamental reasons for NMGB selecting thit unit 2. As far as I heard the unit has a much more "elegant" installation, with a compact gearbox to run the compressor and an electromagnetic clutch to disable during normal driving. I don't know but i guess the cheaper superchargers will work on very well established technology used for many years, and form this it has developed its reliability ( through experience and trial and error) , but the extra cost of this unit will be due to the development costs, the new technology and the TUV testing to validate it... And after all the NMGB car has been in the hands of "press type" people over the last year or so continuosly, and also testing in Nissan no doubt...so it would not have had a very "easy life" but it is still going strong... I wish i had the dosh to do it ..i would try the novidem unit...
  8. hey hey hey was that Mr "Kuro" I spotted today around 17:45 driving away from Bedford town Centre down the london road... Nodded in approval. I was in the GM pulling into the road you went past...

"young racing driver in a murcielago and he cannot pull away from a fat man in a 4 door sedan..." "So there we are ... this incredible 4 door family saloon really is as fast as a Lamborghini..." (family? ) nice ending... typical JC
  12. Nissan Note (cavernous inside! ) or the Honda JAZZ for that instance cheap to run, can carry 5 people and if you fold the back seats I have not seen so much space in cars bigger than these two... U N B E L I V A B L E...we are thinking exactly the same as we have the zed and a 3 door micra and it is a pain to load stuff into ( both cars) , so I am getting her a Nissan Note or a Jazz... If you have not seen them i recommend you see it to believe it... then previous generations civic (the ugly one...) again huge... IF you want a proper sized car then estates...etc all sorts out there Subaru impreza 2.0 turbo ( not the WRX etc...) ? Subaru legacy's Mitsubishi Galants estate ( the fast ones...) loads of options...
  13. I used halfrauds best and it last 1 week at best... so i am interested in what's suggested...
  14. 36 responses... this must be the regulars all done then, but it seems a very clear outcome... I hope someone with influence in Nissan can see what really matters to people... so that the next model 09 wil be even better!!!! but those that haven't voted ... keep voting, and don't be biased by the current trends...
  15. You have to remember also that the electric seats are higher than the manual adjust seats... because of all the gubbins underneath... You sit much lower on the manual seats... I checked it with LeTanks Zed and Mine... I sit ON the car and he sit IN the car, and he's taller than me....
  16. yep I had it for a while ... my missus sitting PAx side is ok but when heavier people sat on it i get a squeak... but i have noticed that it has misteriously dissappeared...!!! the noise is no more... Car had 32k when i noticed it and it has stopped doing it since around 35k i am now in the 40k region and have not heard it and have been carrying "above average weight" passengers ... ehem... have you got electric seat (GT) and leather? That's what i have got...
  17. It seems to always be a compromise power/litre ->reduces the torque (You loose low down grunt but you get higher power at high RPM) (Note Hondas... high power/litre engines but next to no torque...) Because you get more power up top, you have to rev the car slightly higher ( you do get a higher rev range...) , revving higher=more fuel consumption...also means having to rev harder from a standstill i think... For this reason I think my 280 is the best engine of them all...
  18. Sorry I found a seller on ebay who sold then to me for 5.5k all in...
  19. I am just thinking on performance side alone... The nismo exhaust i can imagine allows gas to flow quicker out of the engine... ok which then allows more clean air and fuel in... etc... so if I was to go the nismo exhaust route, I would want to guarantee the best airflow in... and at the moment I can only say that i think the box with perhaps a better panel filter will be the better set up... then of course the kinetix plenum to increase and distribute better the airflow to all cylinders... it would make the efficiencies better thoughout, but as you all mention, limited performance up due to the ECU setup...
  20. Thank you! that's what i thought... I just hope no one has any ideas that these things help engine performance... and pay money for that purpose..
  21. I live near THERE ! opposite the hangars... AKA (the sheds) shortstown... ( the nice bit... )
  22. Sorry I am looking for the numbers 2 and 3 so that i can make the say "knee" "san" in japanese... I'll give you 6k for the number 2...
