  1. Right I've had a look. They are NOT locking wheel nuts but very strange nuts that a normal wheel brace won't fit on. They are hollow with groves on the inner edge. I've taken a pic and will post it in a min when I've hosted it on photobucket.
  2. yep, posting again on behalf of my flippin' son! Puncture on Astra and he's lost the 'tool' that gets his aftermarket alloys off. He says it's not a locking wheel nut it's some sort of tool. I haven't got a clue what he's talking about but as he's lost it how can he get the wheel off? Phoned our local tyre firm and they were no use at all - just said "we need the tool". I should just leave him to it but as you can guess I am going to become his work taxi until he sorts it out. I am already having to drop him off at work for 7am tomorrow as he's on an early shift at the prison! I'll be at my job for 7.30!
  3. Ah thanks for that - I thought I was going mad! I never had a clock on my type R so it's not that uncommon as they are sometimes just in the head unit. If you then change the head unit to one with no clock you're stuffed! I have got a clock in the head unit but I just wanted to know why I was different!
  4. One side of the bike looks immaculate and the other side has deep scrapes and scuffs on every single panel, one headlight, one indicator, and oil is leaking out but it still goes ok. I don't know what else is damaged as that's just me looking at it. Luckily summer's nearly over and we've moving to a house with a garage so it can be his winter project but typically he wants it sorted immediately and doesn't have the money!
  5. cheers guys. Yes at the end of the day it's just a hunk of metal compared to what could have happened to him but he still loves it!

    Focus st

Been out in an ST today - very nice actually - quite similar feel to my old Civic Type R.
  7. Ashtray! Shame on you! If you have to smoke then please step away from the 350Z! Or flick it out the window so your car doesn't stink.
  8. While I was at Trax today I got the dreaded call that my son had come off his Yamaha R6. He was riding it to work and was only using it because someone ran his car off the road and into a pothole on friday and it caused a puncture - otherwise he would have been in the car! He hit a patch of diesel and came off over the handlebars. He spent the morning in hospital after a kind person picked him up off the road and took him but apart from bumps and bruises he is fine. His bike is a mess and his brand new michael rutter replica helmet it knackered as well. I'm not too sure of the damage to the bike yet but it looks fixable so if anyone knows a place where we can get any R6 bits cheap I would be grateful. I am relieved he is ok but he is obviously very upset about his bike which is his pride and joy!
  9. Just a few quick camera phone pics from Trax today. Had a great weekend and would definitely go again. A close relative of the 350z - the Nissan Skyline 350GT - I had a chat with the guy who's car it was. and this one, just for the wierd paint job! Watching the people who took their cars on the track was amazing - they must be bonkers! There were a few near misses and spins. There was a drifting display and the gumball cars did a few laps.
  10. bloody hell Jay, I thought you lived in Buckingham Palace!
  11. If he insists on a bankers draft ask him for the serial number and the branch where he withdrew it. Call the bank, explain the situation and ask for confirmation that the serial number you have been given is legit. Spot on - if they are legit they will not mind calling the bank for you and letting you speak to them.
  12. yes I hold my hands up I knew exactly what I was doing - it's a fair cop! Doesn't stop me wanting to bend the rules though.
  13. I forgot to mention - he took a photo of my car - what's that for then? I forgot to ask. Would a photo of my car be subject to any data protection? I might have to find out what that's for.
  14. I wish I could be that brazen! What I could do with knowing is whether it is logged anywhere. I have to send the ticket off to the vehicle defect administrator at humberside police but if say I got pulled again and played dumb would they know they'd already told me once? It was quite funny really - I said my husband got me them as a gift and I made him show me on each plate how it should be while I stood looking confused. If it's not logged anywhere I could do the same next time. What really annoyed me was that I could tell everyone who drove past thought I'd been speeding just because of my car and also someone I know for a fact is banned for drink driving drove past while I was stood there! He would have caught him with his number plate recognition camera if he'd let me go! (I am of course not condoning any of the above)
  15. Front plate won't look too bad but the back one being an import will be totally meaningless.
  16. Haha, this is true, Sarah asks me all the time why most of my friends on there are women, i just know a lot thats all. Nixy is on there, however she is a bit old, lol. How dare you say that about your mother!

    The Gallardo

Lovely pics. And orange is so much nicer than banana!
  18. Remember a while ago when we were talking about how long it would take before I got pulled for my number plate? Well yep you guessed it - it happened last night on the way home. going through a tiny village there was the very rare sight of a traffic car in a side street doing speed checks. Sure enough he pulled out and came after me with his blue lights on. No fine but i've got a vehicle defect notice so have 2 weeks to present car at MOT station. The policeman spent the next 15 minutes or so telling me how he was part of an elite police club called the black rats and he has a number plate that his wife bought for him with a rats head picture on it and a logo on the bottom saying "I feel the need the need for speed"!!!! But of course he can't use it because he would be a hypocrite. I think basically he was a bit bored sat there until I went past! Not sure what to do now. Hubbie says get it sorted then change it straight back but I'm a bit soft to do anything like that.........
  19. yeah don't worry, I realised that - it may need a supporting beam. Think one big door would be miles better though. Guess it will be last on the list of things to spend money on though unfortunately. I'll just have to perfect my reversing through a small space skills!

    Oil (again)

Not sure actually. I have a receipt somewhere that says what's in it but I think it's only semi - synthetic whatever it was.
  21. I have some Mobil 1 Supersyn - fully synthetic 0w-30 Will this be ok to top up with? I've done a search but can't find anyone using this one.
  22. yeah how said is that - I cannot wait to have a garage so I can go out and play in it when it's raining. The only downside is that it's one of those ones with 2 small doors into one big garage which is a pain as I would have liked to put my car nicely in the middle when I'm tinkering with it. Wonder if it would be much of a job to change it?
  23. anyone feel free to add me then I can throw bombs at you when I'm playing pirates! If you do though, can you let me know who you are in terms of your forum name as I'm easily confused by people's real names.
