  1. Really looking forward to it. I'll miss having an old character property but we got 30k off the asking price of this one as it needs new kitchen, 2 new bathrooms and new windows so quite exciting. We can do all that work straight away as we got it for such a good price. However, I'm more excited about the double garage, can't wait to get in there - is that normal?
  2. I feel a bit mean as they are a nice couple with a grown up son who want to move into the country...... Mind you, I had 5 lovely quiet years here until recently so you never know.
  3. You may remember one of my earlier posts about my bratty neighbours? Well since we had a word about the damage on the BMW they kept their word and kept the kids down the other end of the drive away from our cars. That is until now! It all seems to have worn off now and they are back on full form! Kicking a football up and down the drive towards the cars, riding bikes near the cars and now to my horror throwing a home made javelin! I have just bollocked them out of the window - hopefully next time they throw it, it will stick in one of their heads! Anyway, we have sold our house - it sold within 3 days of putting it on the market! We have bought another house in the same village with a nice long private drive and a big garage!
  4. i've been looking all over for my hairdryer! Give it back.

    New Jag!

For me it just doesn't have the look of a jaguar - it could be a Mondeo.
  6. kids nowadays know the price of everything and the value of nothing - they want all the latest gear but don't think you should have to work hard to get it. They have no respect for teachers, police or even their parents. They all know their rights. My son is 20 and for the first half of his life I bought him up by myself and I was strict but not harsh. He was never allowed to drop litter, swear, leave the table without asking to be excused etc. When he got older and wanted a moped he had to get a job to pay for it and at 16 was working in a supermarket every saturday 2pm until 10pm when all his mates were out enjoying themselves. We could have afforded to buy one for him but it would have taught him nothing. He's now a hard working young man that pays his way. He is still a typical gobby youth but that's just normal. All this hassle starts at home where kids are ruined and spoiled from day one! I feel for you Digsy and if you can move to a better neighbourhood that's what I'd do but it's not always that easy.
  7. not quite sure what you mean by do they have to pull you? I would have thought it was entirely up to them what they do. Or are you saying you think it was a police car but may not have been? in which case it was probably just someone trying to keep up with you - happens all the time and it's usually the crappier cars!
  8. The DVLA don't know their arse from their elbow. We got the elbow and some of the others got the arse unfortunately!
  9. Hi there, and welcome. Sunsets are taking over the world!
  10. that's a bit different because you lost it and I presume had it re-issued to the same person? If you wanted to cancel one because you changed your mind and wanted the money back I don't think you can - well you couldn't when I worked in a bank anyway.
  11. I bet he drove off saying to himself "you wish, Volvo boy"!
  12. loving the wind up on this guy - arrange to meet him - at least he will have had his time wasted!
  13. I agree, that was too dodgy for words! We all know you will wait a long time to get the right car - what sort of person says I have to have it this weekend? He was definitely a 'wrong un'. You've had a lucky escape. It was probably either a stolen card or something to do with identity theft. Cash or bankers draft only. Remember with a bankers draft (branch cheque) the cash has already gone from the persons account, it is the bank that are paying you and as such cannot be cancelled. Any genuine person would be happy for you to talk to their bank and confirm it has gone from their account and is legit.
  14. White is becoming more popular again and is quite the 'in thing' now. However, as some of the others said - if you're doing it you may as well go for something totally unique. You can get white imports easily, I could have got a white one easier than the sunset from Japan so it's obviously really popular over there - still not seen one here though on the road. I totally love the colour of Tere's Zed - Brickyard?
  15. looks gorgeous. Love the wheels too.
  16. I'm probably way off the mark here but could it be anything to do with jap cars being restricted to 112mph? I don't know what happens when you start to hit the restricted speed - could it be anything like that?
  17. mm, good point, too late now so better make sure I always have an alibi!
  18. he joined my club and drowned it in a flood! Glad to hear things are going ok with it!
  19. amazing to think that not that long ago you could get those giant mobile phones like a massive walkie talkie that had a big car battery type thing you had to lug around with it. I think that would have been in the 80's?
  20. You rub the phone and a butler called jeeves appears with a tea tray and a toilet roll!
  21. get back! Me first! Seriously though - if its for the pose then fair play to you but if a mobile phone ever becomes a collectors item or goes up in value I will eat my aerial and buy a stubby!
  22. will she adopt me? Seriously though, just think what you could have for the money instead! Have you seen some of the reviews? http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews81668.html One of the write ups from a tech site says it's the phone for people with more money than brain cells!
  23. Is your mummy putting it in a stocking for you?
