I think with imports its more to do with whether or not the local DVLA office know what they are doing and if they know what the hell a fairlady is! In some cases the emmissions are listed as zero (in other words they don't know), the car is classified PLG and the tax is therefore ***cough*** £185 If you go to the DVLA tax your vehicle on line page you can do a vehicle check to see the tax liability. (and you can do that on anybody's car if you know the reg and make)

I fly back from France the day before and am heading to silverstone before going home so won't have my car - i'm travelling with some friends.

I'm already going with another club but I believe it's the same weekend as the scotland thingy as well.

My previous insurer made me send them the certificate but the current one never. As said above - if it's stated in the Z literature see if that's good enough. Is it a big price difference?

what a nightmare! I presume the main problem is that you have effectively bought the car yourself and they are simply an agent. In which case you already own the car? Trading standards are just not equipped to deal with this sort of thing as you have found out! Its gonna be hard to find someone with experience of this sort of thing - have you thought of trying to contact another importer and see if they can give you any advice? Not sure they would but it's worth a try. I feel for you - you must be so pi**ed off!

really? I haven't found another microfibre to come close to the e-cloth. I've just had a new kitchen put in (shiny work tops) and i have spent ages every time I clean it buffing it back up to a shine. Got some new e-cloths and it just glides over it and instantly it's shiny! But if you promise these are good I could be tempted?

Have to agree about the nxt - i found it a nightmare to get off! I've got einzett glanz wax at the moment. You can't beat an e-cloth for polishing. I have tried various microfibres but these are brilliant - just slide over the surface like nothing else I've used. They are on offer at B&Q at the moment for under a fiver for a microfibre and a glass polishing cloth in a pack - both work brilliantly on the paintwork.

you're all sick! Good colour choice there - much nicer to have something a bit rarer.

just be careful you don't polish right through the paint! Most professionals that use these would do so in conjunction with a paint depth gauge. Unless of course your cars already GM then it won't make any difference!
