The roadster has the engine of the M3. The coupé has the 4.8 BMW X5 engine, and very recently they acquired the possibility to install the new 5L M5 engine.

Dont compare cars which you modify (or would modify) with a car coming straight from the factory. It's like saying you dont want a 911 Carrera Turbo or a Gallardo, you ll get a 350Z and Turbocharge it so it will see that and double it

Over here its quite simple. The only thing with an engine bigger than 2.0 liters that doesn't deprecate has got a Porsche badge on it.

I agree. Dont forget the original one was released on the market in 1998. Compare it with cars of the same year in the same pricebracket

I felt the biggest difference between FWD and RWD when cornering, esp. when accelerating out of a corner. And comparing highest gear acceleration is indeed a bit silly. My mate's Audi A3 2.0 Tractor Derived Ignition accelerates faster in 6th too, but thats why god (or Nissan) gave us a gearstick Anyways, lots of performance for the money, and a bit more classy look than yer average chav-mobile Practicalily/performance i guess its a good deal ( a BMW M5 touring being a bit over the budget i guess )
