    p3

I think there is a difference between an L3 and a P3 guys, keep an eye out. I was told at Basingstoke Nissan that an L3 they only check a whole load of stuff, but on the P3 they replace it. Hence in warrenty you get a P3 as to keep the warrent you have to change it, but in reality it may not be warn and can get away just checking it. I'm sure someone more knowledgable will pipe in with the specigfics. I just got my P3 done for free at B'stoke Nissan because of poor service when I bought the car. Fair play to the dealership they came through and the service didnt cost anything However, I got some new pads and discs done all round at the same time which they charged me ~4hrs labour for I thought it was all in the service (i.e. gonna be free), but apparently not. Bloke did knock £30 off, but was still expensive. Still he informed me Nissan want £1400 for pads and discs all round and I got uprated ones for £800, so not all bad! Thanks to BigPhil for brilliant service once again, managing to get me pads and discs from different locations within 3 days even though EBC were out of stock!
  2. Ditto what the others have said. The car itself is easy enough to fit, but long doors are a pain to get out of. Get some of that foam for around hot water pipes and tape to the walls
  3. Ooooh yes, and proper blacks and faster repsonse times too
  4. Samsung F87/M87 is the way to go. Much cheaper than the Sony (usually) and marginal difference in features/quality - you pay more for the Sony name. Black levels on these newer models are bodering in Plasma levels. I just got the 47" version and its rather impressive. Try www.beyondtelevision.co.uk/ for some of the best deals around. Dixons/Comet/Currys wont come anywhere near their prices.
  5. Its sad to see Val leave in such a way, he was such a character and was very welcoming at Silverstone. As has been said, there is no way to control the fact that these lovely cars will depreciate and then eventually anyone will be able to own one, thats just the way it is. I'm glad to see that the Mods havent been forced into going the way just a single person beleives the site should, but at the same time it is sad to loose Val, I was looking forward to his FI antics. Keep up the good work mods, I'm sure the site will continue to grow and your devotion to the cause is much apprecaited
  6. I did mine with a single layer of Second Skin and it did wonders for my daily commute. The only thing I have now noticed is that it seems to rattle a little more. I think this is prob down to getting rid of the road noise more than anything. So be warned, once you start you'll be after more to keep the thing quiet! I'm currently looking at getting so SS Sludge to put around the driver and passenger seats and also some sheet foam to put in all the rattly places. Then I'm sure I'll find more noise from somewhere else. The other option is to get a Nismo exhaust and then you'll not be able to hear anything other than that!

    Z Number 3

    Whens the moddin gonna start?
  8. I beleive they went for the 3l. Tiff admitted that the Zed had more grunt on the straights and thats why it caught up. The Zed did look like more of a handful but to me that just means more fun
  9. My Tesco has it but I aint telling you lot where that is in case you come steal it all
  10. I totally agree. Which is why I got a Zed and not a beemer Plus we whooped them on the most important aspect, drifitng! Did you see Jas' drift? Awesome
  11. Got mine from Phil too. Speedy delivery and a cracking price. Havent had need to lift my bonnet yet but they are under there
  12. I think the point they were trying to make is that although the Zed had it on all 3 counts, it wasnt by very much at all and that Tif and Jas personally perfered the other aspects of the Beemer (prob better build quality etc) so would take it over the Zed.
  13. I doubt the the telco provider lock is in Symbian, it will be embedded deeper than even the firmware itself on a chip that is unwriteable. Only way usually to get around it is to work out the unlock code. My w850i has been reflashed and that is still locked to Voda, its a much deeper "hack" than the OS. I think I did see something on The Reg that reported there is a hardware hack of cutting 2 traces and placing a switch on it, but its a pretty hardcore measure! Infact it is the exact same kid that did it (http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com/2007/08/full-hardware-unlock-of-iphone-done.html)
  14. As Sarnie says, it'll be down to the quality of the cable. I dont know which is better TBH but the kit I have from Spill says chemical and heat proof copper cables, so that sounds good to me! Want to make sure it can take the heat. On the flip side Sinbad can vouch for the eBay ones and you can get them in fancy colours. Depends if you want a little more safety (potentially) with Spills or nicer looking ones Oh and IIRC spills is a 6/7 cable kit and that is a 5 cable kit.
  15. You lucky sod! Me I get to sit here in Slough and stare at my PC all day
  16. Congrats on the new house Nix! Hope the kids dont follow you! Still waiting to get into ours, been 3 months now - not helped by the fact that the vendor went on holiday for nearly a month
  17. Cant wait to see it finished Val - keep us updated
  18. Absolute classic. I always remember the bit at the end where he shades his eyes from the sun driving it one handed - going that quick when he cant see
  19. Seen this before. Think they need road gritters
  20. i got one of those too........... mine was 280 quid new off ebay Cheers guys. I'll keep an eye out on flebay. I have a scorpion on the R6 and sounds lovely when the baffle falls out get an ackropovic for your bike......... I would, but like a Nismo for the Zed, its too expensive. Plus its declared SORN atm as I cant afford to run it
  21. Think I turned mine all the way up and then back down a little, with the same for each one and they seemed balanced as the OEM setup. Just remember to turn the front and back pairs with each other (ie RR + RL the same) so you dont get a miss balance. Just need to have a play and you should be able to solve it
  22. Have you tried fiddling with the adjusters on teh PAC-ROEM unit? There is a potometer (sp?) for each channel that you can adjust how loud they are.
  23. looks more like a Z than a fish Damn my flakey touch typing
