  1. but then the TV it self will have an upscaler in it. There is no way to make a non-HD signal into HD. You can scale it up but you only have so much data to start with. How good the upscaled image all depends on the scaler be it in the TV, DVD player, an AMP etc. Agreed. Drives me mad when people tell me their £20 DVD player from Tesco upscales and is amazing! My f'in TV upscales just fine thanks! Unless you have a good processor doing the upscaling (i.e. a good Amp or a PC) then an upscaller is next to pointless. Another potential pitfall is that SD DVDs can only be upscalled using certain connections to different extents. I think that XB360 for example wont deliver fully upscalled DVDs over component (goes to something like 720p from memory). However the TV then upscales the half upscalled picture to full HD, which can lead to degredation of image quality. Main thing is to remember is that you prob wont be able to tell the difference between a good upscalled image and a poorer one as the TV will do a fine job. So just enjoy the telly and dont get hung up on if it is HD or not
  2. Ok mate cheers. How much am i looking at for fitting? There was a chap on here that got em all done for £70. Dont get stung like me and pay £300! Or do as most do on here (and I will next time) and do it yourself
  3. I was going to get an Equibs 1 piece, until I found out what the shipping was like Would be interested to see it on a car.
  4. They do a 14 day no quibble money back guarentee, why not try it? Recons it gives you 2.5PSI of boost
  5. You need to go give them a prod, see what it can do
  6. yep, on something like this it will be free fitting, how much better can it get. Being 300 miles further south! Might as well make it 400 while you are there, in between the two of us.
  7. Cabon one for me, how much Phil? You're gonna be getting even newer bigger premises at this rate
  8. Threadjack - how much for the Nismo ones Phil? Might be up at xmas after some stocking fillers
  9. Looks like a lovely motor For insurance try Admiral/Elephant. Not sure if its the import factor, but I do a simialr mileage, similar age, simlar NCB but been driving a bit longer, and I get it all for £535/yr. Give em a shout
  10. I win for the shortest list: Cars: 55 SEAT Leon Curpra FR 53 350z Bikes 52 Yamaha R6
  11. Not as expensive as my petrol bill if I make the 600 mile round trip to come to it!
  12. Then spin round 3 times clockwise, 2 times anti-clockwise and throw a pinch of salt over your shoulder Then when throughly dizzy, get a replacement to the crappy BOSE (something like Pioneer, Alpine etc), a PAC-ROEM, a fascia adapter and be ever more happy with much better sound and no lost CDs!
  13. Slap in a turbo, a set of discs and pads, some suspension tweaks and you'll have a track monster
  14. Thats what my mate thinks I should get next, but I couldnt do my 120mile daily round trip in that I dont think, not in traffic anyway!
  15. Interesting.... Not too bad then all in as mine came to a little over £800 for uprated discs, pads and fitting, so could be worse. Still I can save £300 next time by going to an inderpendant or fitting them myself. I have also emailed NMGB to ask for an official pricing for the work, with and without parts and if they differ a lot from B'stoke Nissan I will be paying them a visit Cant make the Wales run unfortunately, just got a new house so lots of decorating etc to be done.
  16. You can when you get silent operation and perfect clean wipes from the PIAAs and they dont judder or squeal or streak like the cheap ones. You'll get PIAAs when that happens. My misses even bought a pair and thought they were excellebt value for the price

    p3

Get that in writing - it should be framed! I may well do. When I get time at work I'm going to phone NMGB and ask how much it should be B'stoke Nissan really do shoot themselves in the foot, the people are really nice and good but they keep finding something to feck up!
  18. Give BigPhil a should about the pads and discs. He just did me a cracking deal on some for mine and got them delivered super quick. He does a few different arrangements, but my quotes ranged from £500-600 for front and rear (with a ceiling set by me of £600). Dont get them fitted at a Nissan stealer or they'll take your eyes out to fit them like they did to me
  19. Just to reiterate what some of the others have said from my own experience - I never knew you stocked such an extensive array of stuff. As you dont have a website (or atleast one I know of), I havent ever really thought of you as a first point of call for bits other than when I see others getting them from you on here. But now I will Lack of hassle of import means I can get away with getting more goodies delivered without the missus knowing. Service I have always had from Phil has been first class and even that is an understatement. Got my first set of PIAA wipers from Phil and were delivered fast and in perfect condition. The second set unfortunately fell foul of the postie and were damaged slightly, but Phil had no delay in sending me out another wiper to replace it ASAP. He has also very recently managed to to get me DS2500 pads, front and rear discs from 3 different locations all to my work in under 3 days when even EBC were out of stock! I dont think I've had better customer service from anywhere before. Keep up the good work mate, hope it all goes well and the new premesis are a hit. Where abouts in Sunderland/North East are you? My family comes from up that way and I still have an Aunty that lives on the coast at Roker, so will pop in next time I'm up there at xmas, maybe get myself some xmas pressies
  20. Dont be put of by the yocals their bark is worse than their bite, and Sarnie has been known to bite
  21. I saw that on a US forum. IIRC some guy got a service, went to work afterwards and when he parked up noticed a massive puddle of oil and a trail down the road Seem to remember they said that you'd be ok for a few miles until the oil had chance to heat up and drain away fully. Could have happened here I guess.
  22. A plank of wood at the far end of the garage can also be used as a bump stop for the tyres to tell you when you are far enough in
  23. No worries Digsy, I didnt read it like that at all. These threads are all good cos it means people like me that did get fleeced have some ammo to go back to the dealers and complain. How much do NMGB quote for a disc and pad change all round? They havent actually quoted a time on the invoice just a price for labour, but I assume that NMGB will have a set labour charge and time for brake changes being that this is a Nissan main dealer? Might give NMGB a ring from work and see what they say. Cheers Chris
  24. Good stuff. Saw someone fleeced 4 hours labour by their stealer to do this! Yeah that was me! Stealer was doing a free P3 service as their salesman was rubbish when I got my car. Stealer principal did me a deal to do my next service free. So when they called to book it in I said could they do the pads and discs if I supply and thought it would be all inc. Ohhh how I was wrong! They charged me £300 for the pleasure! Still I will be calling the dealer principal once again after reading this thread! I wont be going back there in a hurry
