    New toy....

Nice one Stew! Dont think I'd ever take anything other than a Random Orbit polisher near my Zed, I wouldnt trust myself not to burn through the clear coat Wont take you long to knock out any swirls with that baby
  2. You will at Wales, if you dont I'll pull them out
  3. Kevin HUntley Z Newbie..... Maybe a mod with some nouse could do the honours! Yes I do think our Kev is worthy of a little more than newbie Nah, he just needs to post more. We kept Gaz's post count, so be happy (I'll go speak to the admin, kinda hard how to work out how many posts we should give him though )
  4. Just make sure when you have a garage do it, they use copper slip/antisieze on the thread. Then you can give it a go next time in the knowledge that it will come off easily enough Its only hard the first time when Nissan dont use it (costs extra pennies of course) so they sieze on and are an ar$e to remove! Definately something worth doing yourself once, just for the experience And no deafening me at Wales with my quiet Nismo
  5. Its alright mate, they will know a way of getting it to look repectable at least. I would have thought atleast you could flat it back and layer on some new gelcoat. Its not broken the weave completely anywhere (doesnt look to be any damage to the weave acutally), so carefully sanding back almost to the weave and layering back up with gelcoat should be possible. Carbonology should be able to send you the right stuff
  6. +1 I didnt expect that, gutted for you mate. +2 - send a pic off to Carbonology, those guys seem to know what they are doing, and will be able to give professional advise. I think thats a bit beyond glue and permenant marker
  7. YOU CAN F@*K RIGHT OFF I need 2 arm transplants asap Why do you think we all happily pay garages 50 quid to fit them Nice one though mate, it is an experience! A bit of blow torch action always helps to get things moving
  8. Got pics? Most things are repairable, just need to see how bad it is. Varis carbon is cursed. No less than a week after owning mine, a rock hit it on the motorway and put a crator in front face of it! I had to colour it in with permenant marker Looks better than it sounds!
  9. Not a test drive, but I got a Diesel Alfa Spyder (58 reg) as a courtesy car once. Saw it outside, and was like , but then realised it was a Diesel Was soo boring to drive and the turbo kicked in for a power band of about 100 RPM! Was **** poor, although did enjoy putting the roof down when it was snowing! I had to try it and it snowed for 4 days straight Very poor.
  10. Nowt wrong with linking to my350z.com, they are a wealth of information and stupidity, all in one go
  11. That is a good result too Yup, you dont want those monkeys putting scratches and swirl marks all over it. Better they dont clean it!
  12. Just leave some bits at home, less weight, more ride height. Take out the spare wheel if you have one Seriously, dont know how you adjust K&W, did they give you the special spanner to do it with? If its anything like a bike, you need a big splined spanner, and all you need do is jack up the wheel, turn the but nut thing with it and up she goes, easy. Do the same number of clicks each side and job done
  13. You should have had it a lot easier, the 5Zigen hadnt been on 5 minutes and TGM will have put copper slip on the threads

    pop charger

Doesnt take long to dry out with a hairdryer. Can have it washed, dried, re-oiled and back on the car in under an hr But if you have the dosh, its a nice luxury not to rush it

    Rim Tape!???

I start early, leave early, miss the traffic that way. So 7:30am-4pm roughly. Was trying to catch you up to hear your car and see if new bits had been fitted, but you were ready to pull off by the time I got around the stupid Pug! Glad to hear the tyres made it ok, been tracking them on CityLink and they said they werent there yet, was going to phone Tom tomorrow. Hopefully get booked in before Wales
  16. But wheres the kitchen sink?!

    Rim Tape!???

Doesnt have to be reflective, just buy non-reflective rim tape And if done right, you cant tell its tape unless you are less than a foot away from it. I could only find reflective tape & I'm crap at diy stuff I have some at the moment to try and cover up where my lips have given up, but I'm crap at doing it on car wheels. Its very hard compared to bike wheels

    Rim Tape!???

Vinyl tape that goes around the edge of the rim. Say to make it look like a Time Attack rim. Used mainly on bikes
  20. Awesome, that has a very nice list of features, including multiple maps and true WOT One for RS Tuning to answer - looking at the website, its usually a mail in system. Assuming you get a dump of each kind of ECU (the 14 different kinds according to wizard) does that mean you will be able to do everything in house or do you still need to send the dump away to UpRev for modification and you can only do the flashing? If its the latter that will be a bit of a bummer for people like me who travel miles to get there as we will need to be about long enough to get it sent over to the US or whereever and wait for it to come back before the remap can begin.
  21. Why do you think I asked if you had a long lunch break I left it to TGM Sport to do mine, the oxy-torch only came out once
  22. Dont think you can get track insurance for the Ring as its not a track, its a public toll road techincally. But many insurers state that its not covered by there insurance too I dont think most people bother with track insurance as the excess is so high. Its helpful if you write off the car though! My mate Ben (MAD7BOY on here) has some kind of insurance where they add the track portion for a little bit each time.
  23. Indeedy! Does well around the Evo triangle too
