  1. Ah, so these cross-dressing rumours are true then The things the admins/mods do for this site To those questioning whether you can sit on a domain name or not, you are quite right, you are not allowed to do this now. The wheels are being put into motion to take official action to get it back
  2. You do need to do your sums, but for me when the Zeds all started to depreciate so much, it would cost more to run a beater car than it would to just cut my losses and use the Zed all the time. Plus it gives me great pleasure taking it everywhere and getting looks and questions about it and the club
  3. Sod run arounds! My car does 75 miles a day, 5 days a week, and I have taken it from 26k to 72k in just over 2 years. Loving every minute of it, and its never missed a beat and always puts a smile on my face Depending on how long you want to keep it, a beater car might be worth it. But paying for a car (£1k), petrol (wont save you that much), extra insurance, tax, MOT, servicing (not a lot less than a Zed at an inderpendant), it can work out more expensive running a beater than a Zed, and you have to trash around in a shite car all the time! True they depreciate faster with more miles on them, but who cares, its all about the smile it brings you. My mate at work does the same milage as me, has a shite car, and has paid out over £2k this year for repairs. He gets just over 30MPG (about 3 more than me!) and his insurance is about £100 less. In the long run, I've spent about £1k less than him this year as even though my servicing is more expensive, I've had no major work required, even with replacing my brakes at £500! Do it properly, drive it daily
  4. Looks good bud, nice little mod, looks very swish at night with matching dome lights Glad to see you guys are catching on a year later viewtopic.php?f=53&t=12778 Didnt even have black seats back then
  5. What would a pro detailler do differently though? They'd clay it out too! Just need to polish it out afterwards! Well once he's clayed the car, it might end up getting covered in light scratches, so it would need machining, imo. I'd still give it a go and see, and if it needs a machine polish after, get a pro in. You can take out light swirls by hand with the right products, just takes a lot longer than by machine. Depending on where the OP lives, he might be able to borrow a members DA polisher, I know a few have one inc me
  6. West London Motor Group (wlmg, formerly Dan Perkins), Slough, arent far from you (about 30mins). They offer club discount and will sort you out. Mine is going in for a P3 with them tomorrow. They even knock money off for the fact I dont need by brake fluid changing nor my air filter. Give them a shout and tell them you're a member
  7. What time did you get there matey? I left for the pub with the MLR lot just after 8:30pm Glad you wasnt on your tod! Good to meet Buster and Mike
  8. Good to have you on board. We can go straight to the source for information now, like which ECUs you can have multiple maps on etc.
  9. The reason people use aftermarket EMS is purely because its known by the tuners. Its a chicken and egg situation with UpRev and the 350z over here though. They obviously have a good product, but who is willing to test it with FI? Seems RS Tuning has someone with a supercharger, so we'll see how they get on. UpRev - why not post a thread in the welcome section to introduce yourself properly
  10. What would a pro detailler do differently though? They'd clay it out too! Just need to polish it out afterwards!
  11. OK guys. We normally try and park up on the row opposite the MLR (Evos), so if you get there early enough to get a space, thats the place to be
  12. Will definately have one some day, but atm I'm looking at a P3 and wheel refurb in the next month Then the jockland hoon in Sept which will be at least 1500 miles of driving which is wicked, but gonna be expensive!
  13. See what chipsaway and a bodyshop would do. If the price isnt much more for the bodyshop to respray the whole thing, it might be easier and will get rid of any stone chips
  14. Sorry to hear of the loss ..... Sorry I had to say that.
  15. Looks like I am, unless it .... well I wont say the "r" word
  16. Not being one for being pedantic, but 40,617 visits and 6,203 unique vistors in the last month, not bad for our little old free site
  17. Well I was thinking I could sell my spacer for a hundred quid and then this would only be £150 .... uh oh ..... NOOOO I must not do it Doooooooooooo it Come to the shiny side I will resist with my ninja powers
  18. Im sure Alex has/had one on his car I beleive he welded the buggery out of it to get it to hold together though Best heed Adams advice
  19. Maybe RS Tuning will be too lazy to tune your car
  20. Well I was thinking I could sell my spacer for a hundred quid and then this would only be £150 .... uh oh ..... NOOOO I must not do it
  21. You can tuck them higher and out of sight and still get enough light down there. See my nice or rice thread from way back when I did it
  22. Wait for Alex and Adam. It makes a good shiney doorstop for NA car owners No chance you will get 30HP out of it unless FI! Even then I doubt it.
  23. It should be noted that I think everyone got on with Val at some point or other, and the one dealing I had with him was nice and he was friendly. But he also has a much unfriendlier side which (un)fortunately most people havent had to deal with, but the admin and mods on here have had first hand experience of. He left the forum and vowed never to return, which he didnt honour, and even more underhand he was here unknown to us and using the forum to sell parts. This was (and is) unacceptable in anyones books and so he was quite rightly removed.
  24. Read this thread and you will undertand why - viewtopic.php?f=16&t=25200
