  1. Most car shampoo if mixed a little strong will strip wax. To a certain extent all shampoo, even wax friendly, will strip a little, its just usually weak enough that it doesnt take much with it. Any of your older cheaper shampoos mixed a little strong will do the job nicely
  2. Whoops Still, would like to know whats better about it. If there is something better, its always worth adding to the detailling collection
  3. I can see the UK's GDP dropping by quite a few percent because of this
  4. The Highway Code is what is known as a "Guidance publication". It is not in itself an act of parliment (i.e. law - The Road Traffic Act), but compliance with it will ensure you keep within the law. If you ended up in court, you would be charged under the Road Traffic Act 1991. But examples of your digression from the highway code could be used in evidence. Thats my understanding also
  5. How do you define better? I've used their QD that comes with the clay kit and found it far far inferior to Red Mist. While they both are fine as a QD, Red Mist provides a nice level of protection and wet look shine that I didnt get from the Megs QD. Not sure its the same stuff though.
  6. Mine went on the bottom, dead centre of the rear window
  7. Watermarks can also appear etched into the paint. I've got something similar on my 370z. I tried to remove it with Lime Prime and it didnt budge. Need to get out the PoorBoys SSR and see if I can shift it. Bloody annoying this water based paint
  8. Chris and Mac are saying its legal. Its my understanding that the Highway Code is not law, although it can be cited in a case as an example - ie it can be used to deem someone as driving dangerously if they undertake, however the undertake itself is not illegal. /nod Although you'd have trouble arguing your case if lane 3 was available in this example. If the inside lane is clear and all outside lanes are full of slow morons then you're well within your rights to overtake on the inside.
  9. Good stuff, thanks for clearing that up. PS Is the dyno fixed yet?
  10. Yes they are different you cant have them working together. So what does tweaked give us? 100% at WOT, anything else? Not sure how that applies to 370z which I beleive only has the butterfly to provide vaccum when off the throttle?
  11. If you've cleaned it all off then yes the damage is done and wont get worse. Wouldnt hurt to get some LSP on it, be it wax or sealant.
  12. They are saying it is legal. Whether it is right or wrong by the Highway Code is another matter I guess? /nod Although you'd have trouble arguing your case if lane 3 was available in this example. If the inside lane is clear and all outside lanes are full of slow morons then you're well within your rights to overtake on the inside.
  13. OK so I'm a little confused. When you say "tweaked throttle map" that can be used with multimaps what is that doing? 1:1 throttle map does what it says on the tin, it moves the butterfly 1:1 with the movement of the pedal, but what does the normal tweaked map do? Get it closer to a 1:1 map, but not so much that it means cruise doesnt work any more?
  14. +1 - its etched into the paint. You need to remove the offending (albeit very small) layer of laquer. REMEMBER: Get rid of bird poop as soon as you see it! Water based paints are soft as ***** and are eaten into very quickly and easily by bird poop. I find the best way is to wet a paper towel and leave it over the offending mess for a few minutes to soften up. Then clean off, polish (if required) and re-apply some wax/sealant to make sure its protected again.
  15. I might have a week off between jobs Andrew, want me to pop up? Stupid vetting people didnt send me the email link, so they havent vetted me for the job, so I may not be able to start just yet. What a shame if I get an extra week off
  16. Get someone that does it right and theres no problem. The 2 main problems are either baking them too hot, or redoing them too many times. If you go to a place with a good rep, it will cost a little more but you will have no problems
  17. Very nice, thats what I had my eye on when walking into the LBS. It was only because they had the Stumpy reduced that I upgraded to that. Afan is meant to be very good for biking too, get us some pics of you out and about
  18. I'll give it a go - just because I love this place
  19. I was meant to be in on the 7th. Dyno was borked and Mark was waiting for parts
