    next Z - maybe

Cos they just make stuff up to sell magazines! They havent really got a clue what it is... Exactly! The truth is, the press know no more than any of you guys. Even I don't know the full details.
  2. Hmmm, I know! Things are on a bit of a back burner for the moment because we can't decide where we want to live! Besides, the market has slowed down quite a bit so there is no real rush to get on the ladder. I've always wanted to put on the Nismo kit and after snapping up some cheap genuine skirts on ebay last week, it has spurned me on to finish the job! If a nice house comes up and I have to sell it shortly after, then at least I've done it. Although by then, it will be even harder to part with her!!!!
  3. I went to Phuket for a weekend in August '05 whilst travelling around SE Asia and Australia. We stayed at the Patong Merlin Hotel (see link). I think it was about £20 per room per night. Quite a lot for Thailand, but it was a nice hotel and in a good spot! http://www.merlinphuket.com/patong/ We booked only a week in advance but I'm sure we could have booked when we got there as it wasn't that busy. Mind you, it was the first summer after the tsunami so that might have had something to do with it???
  4. Yeah, I've heard about this brinster guy before. Didn't he do the deal on the exhausts??? I had him in mind if I have no luck on the p/x or 2nd hand front but I'm just a little worried about the hidden costs with importing from the US (duty etc.). I'd like to know exactly what it's gonna cost me before I start bidding!
  5. I know that this is a long shot, but is there anyone who might be thinking about returning their car to standard and wants to part with their 19 inch Nismo alloys + tyres??? I could part ex. for a lovely set of Rays with Michelin Pilot Sports all round. Fingers crossed hey, PM me if interested! Otherwise, does anybody know where is the cheapest place I can get them new????
  6. I won them on Ebay but Zzzz.. got the last ones by dealing with him direct. I already posted what happened on another link, I think for the V2 spoiler???
  7. Been around for a while in Japan (also badged Tiida), and around a year in the US where it is badged Versa. It won't be coming to any of the major European markets (ie. UK, France, Germany etc.) Not sure of the reason, but I would have thought it was a brand image thing??? It's not a bad car actually, apart from the horendous looks!!! It's based on the Micra platform so in theory, you should get a lot of car for the money! A perfect car for the 60 - 70 somethings! By the way, I loved the rice comment. That's what I thought too when I first heard of it!!!!! haha
  8. From when I spoke to guy on the phone this morning, I got the impression that this was the last lot of Nismo bits! Did you notice that there are no side skirts this time round??? That's because Zzzz... was so jealous of the ones that I had bought, he decided to grab them before they went onto ebay! It seems these listings have caused quite a stir over on the OC because many of the guys heard that another member over there had done a back hand deal to get the complete kit and they therefore thought that the ebay items were already sold, resulting in them not bidding! Needless to say, the guy had 3 or 4 kits so I ended up getting a bargain!!!!
  9. Hmmm I bought myself a set of brand new genuine Nismo sideskirts from this guy only yesterday! Still debating whether I want these thingys too because I know I can get good quality copies of both the bumper and spoiler but not too sure about these??? Besides, I'm still not sure whether to keep the existing bumper and get a Veilside V1 lip and I'm also undecided about which spoiler to plump for. Nismo V1 or V2???? I think the guy had 3 complete kits to get rid of and they were going for silly money! I got my sideskirts for less than some cheap replicas would have cost me!
  10. - whats the point! As I said, it's for a laugh! Really, some of you do lack a sense of humour at times! That poor Scirocco has never had so many people look at it in the 20 years it's been on the road until now. The best part about it, is that you can go somewhere like Le Mans and seriously get more looks in a car that cost £50 to put together, than you would if you were in a car worth 10,000 times that!!!! If seeing a stupid looking VW dressed as a Deloreon makes someones day and they end up having a laugh with their friends about it, then it's all worth it, isn't it?! You have to remember, this car isn't someones pride and joy, it's an absolute pi$$ take brought on by most of the chavmobiles you see on our roads who are owned by people who are deadly serious about their ripspeed LEDS and primer coloured bodykits!!!! And why not do it??? Check out the ebay auction, and you'll see that they stand to make quite a bit of money out of it! Not too stupid IMO
  11. I did a French road trip over Easter....it was awesome! See my write up here: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6771&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30 Can most definately recommend the N85 "Route Napoleon" for a bit of fun driving!!!!
  12. C'mon Tony, of all people you should know it's spelt Ghosn not Gosshhhnnn!
  13. Nope, the engine in the next gen zed will definately not be any smaller than the current one! A 250Z would suggest using a 2.5 litre engine. There is a lot of speculation that a small rear wheel drive coupe could appear in the future, but I would bet money on it not wearing a Z badge as it would lower the Z brand image! I'd have though you would have some insider knowledge on this anyway Steve ??? .........I've already said too much!!!
  14. Nope, I'm sure the engine in the next gen zed will definately not be any smaller than the current one! A 250Z would suggest using a 2.5 litre engine. 15. For anyone who's interested in replacing their zed, here's the perfect replacement! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BTTF-De-Lorean-Scirocco-VW-DeLorean-Back-to-the-future_W0QQitemZ330134259139QQihZ014QQcategoryZ9873QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem My mates have built this car to take to Le Mans this year and it started as as a bit of a laugh, but given the fact that they are all automotive engineers from NTCE, Spyker F1, Red Bull F1 to name a few, they have really gone to town on it and done an awesome job! Obviously it's a bit of a pi$$ take, but that's what Le Mans is all about - a big two fingers up to all the ponses in Ferrari's and Lambo's (no offence Sarnie! )!!!
  16. Just because the dimensions are smaller, that doesn't mean that the engine will be! The Z33 is a bit of a lard ass afterall! You only have to do a bit of digging on the net to see what technology is new on other Nissan products in Japan and the US to get you thinking what engine, chassis, etc... might be used on the next gen zed.
  17. From the fouth paragraph of the article: Given that engineers appear to be using a Porsche Cayman as a comparison benchmark, it’s either the case that this remains a new, smaller 350Z (the two models are Nissan’s closest natural competitors), or that the company is setting a seriously high bar for its budget performance car. We can only hope that their choice of a Boxster companion will mean that the new car will be rear-drive as well. Well it's not a budget performance car!
  18. I could tell you exactly what it is, but then I'd have to kill you! Here's a clue though, it's not what they say it is in the first two paragraphs of the report!
  19. Many zeds in the US run with the same size wheels and tyres front and rear! Not as good as having staggered sizes in my opinion, but it has been done. It all depends on the offsets with these wheels.
  20. Spotted these on ebay, dunno about offsets and all that but they might make a good buy for someone. Nice looking rims too, copies of the Nismos! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/18-alloy-wheels-Black-Skyline-EVO-200SX-s14_W0QQitemZ230138982255QQihZ013QQcategoryZ28648QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  21. I can vouch for that, you'd be surprised by the number of changes made to increase vehicle security and meet Thatcham requirements on European Nissan models. And yes, that includes the Zed too! Just one reason why JDM's are often more expensive to insure!
  22. Hmmm, very suspect! That's definately a JDM (notice no headlamp washers and JDM spec HVAC controls). It could well be a JDM 35th anniversary model but with a UK bumper and badges. The lights are OEM and I think that they might have been an option in Japan at the time. Mind you, there is no mention in the add that it is a GT4. It is way overpriced though!
  23. Or me when you want mortgages Well that is interesting, it's like the freemasons on here! As it happens Sarnie, I went to see a mortgage advisor only yesterday and Lomoto, I've got my eye on a 125 that should tie me over until I do my direct access later in the year. I'd be grateful of a bit of advice though! Cheers fellas. I suppose we should get back to topic now hey!
  24. Sounds like a good deal mate! Was it the car from Camden Northampton? If so, I had a look at it a few weeks ago when I popped in for some brochures and it looked . I'm surprised at the deal because I've heard nothing but bad news regarding this dealer but I hope it works out for you! At least if you have any warranty troubles I guess you'll be dealing with the garage in Spon End, which is supposed to be OK according to my dad who got his NOTE from there.
