  1. Here's a few more! I didn't realise that there was a 3 attachment limit.
  2. Sorry for the delay on getting these pics up. Enjoy! P.S I thought I was right about the surround on non-bose headunits!
  3. Not for those of you ashamed of the famous hamburger badges, but it's one that she can keep when she goes........unless I get a GT-R that is!
  4. Sorry once again , I've just read Minel's response! In that case, I'd see what you can find on ebay or send a PM to one of the guys on here who has a similar head unit. After looking through the ICE section, I'd try Nana Moon, StephenG or Blacky.
  5. Sorry, when I said surround I meant the bracket thing you were talking about. Cars with Bose do not get this as the Bose fits nicely into the facia, whereas (I believe) the non bose cars have the X-trail unit which is smaller (same as double din) and requires a factory fit adaptor bracket to fill the gaps as I had.
  6. I paid £500 (after some haggling!) from the Birmingham franchise branch of Car Audio Centre. Their online price is only £489 (the cheapest I could find by some margin as the RRP is £799) but I just had to see it in the flesh and compare it with the Alpine in order to make my mind up. Beware, I saw this head unit cheaper on ebay (approx £350) but it was for the US and Asian spec, which does not play region 2 DVD nor has the correct radio bandwidth for the UK not to mention RDS.
  7. Hi guys, After weeks of debating which headunit I should replace my stock US spec unit with, I finally went for the JVC KW-AVX700! I found it really difficult to chose between it and the Alpine IVA W200Ri that I know a few guys on here have, as both have their plus points. In the end, it was the SD card/DivX/screen quality and overall look of JVC that clinched it not to mention the fact that it was £60 cheaper! To begin with I was a bit put off that it didn't have touch screen but I believe the screen quality is noticeably better than the Alpines and who wants greasy finger prints over their pride and joy anyway! The JVC was also available in a black or silver finish. I went for the contrast of silver to match the rest of the aluminium finish in the zed and I'm well happy with the outcome! Next on the list is a couple of cameras (reverse and front bumper, which I'll try to make recordable for track days!) and I might even see what this car freeview is like for £35 on ebay! With sky sports news in my car I really could live in it!

    OEM gear knob

So I've heard, but I was mainly interested in the the gear knob thanks!

    OEM gear knob

I have just noticed that there is a brand new one listed on ebay - starting bid £49.99!!! Apparently these retail for £180!!!! Another laughable Nissan parts price! I guess lomoto was right afterall in saying that the US price was cheap at $120! To be honest I wasn't expecting to pay any more than what I've seen the aftermarket ones going for on ebay but I prefer the look of the standard one. I would probably go up to £40 if it was in A1 condition otherwise I might wait until I'm next in Japan and get one out there for a lot less I hope!

    OEM gear knob

That's ok, I expect that most people would want to do that too! There's no rush so I guess I'll hang on for one rather than pay £60+

    OEM gear knob

Cheers lomoto I didn't expect them to be so much. Who am I kidding, we're talking Nissan dealership prices now afterall! You know, I was after some tailgate struts and was quoted £120 each! Similar spec ones on the Pathfinder only cost Nissan about 4 Euros each from the supplier!!! I think I might hold out to see if anyone has one on here that they no longer want.

    OEM gear knob

Hi, Does anyone have a factory standard gear knob in black that they are willing to part with? I know that a few of you have fitted aftermarket ones, which might mean that you no longer want the old one. The leather on mine is beginning to get a bit shiny and the paint is beginning to flake off the base. If anybody has one in good condition I would be very interested. Cheers
  13. Any news on getting these made yet? I've got a massive bruise on my back where the latch striker hit me last week!!! If driving this car in winter doesn't kill me, then getting my shopping out of the boot will!!!
  14. The bumper is exactly the same as the UK one apart from the fact that the number plate cut out is a different shape. You won't need to do anything different with the fog light (I have a UK fog light fitted with no problems). You will need a new number plate though. It's up to you mate. I can understand you wanting to get a UK spec one, after paying a premium for a UK model you don't want everyone thinking you own a JDM now do you !
  15. I have a spare JDM rear bumper in gunmetal sitting in my garage if you're interested??? I replaced it with a Euro spec bumper to go with my cherished plate. There's nothing wrong with it. I was only keeping it incase I had an accident and was forced to pay main stealer prices!
  16. Try mytyres.co.uk They will deliver tyres free of charge to your home or work and they offer a 30 day no quibbles money back guarantee if you change your mind. (so long as you haven't fitted the tyres of course!) In my experience, they have always been cheaper than blackcircles but I'm not sure what effect the 5% discount would now make. It's another option at the end of the day!
  17. I went to TL Harveys (Walsall) yesterday to get some bits off the car being scrapped on ebay. [Gunmetal GT UK] He still had both door cards, nearside grab handle, roof liner and bose headunit among other parts. I got mostly trim parts from the IP and he was pretty cheap. He wanted £150 for the headunit but I reckon he'd take a oner. Shame that because I'm after a UK non bose headunit - gutted! The geezers name is Paul 01215682830 P.S They will post items too.
  18. Yeah cool P.S. I like the katakana (Gran Turismo 4)
  19. Hi guys, I wonder if any of you guys who have upgraded your ICE have a standard UK head unit (non-Bose) gathering dust that you're willing to part with??? I have a domestic car which originally had a single DIN head unit but I got a standard US unit to replace it. This is quite pants to say the least, no RDS/EON and only single CD! Please help! Cheers Steve P.S. While we're on the subject, I have a problem with the US unit where when I turn on the driving lights, the head unit backlight turns off. Seems to be working back to front with the backlight working with no lights on. Could this be due to the differences in BCM??? I don't think it is possible to fit the connectors incorrectly. Have any of you heard of this happening before?
  20. Just looks like any gunmetal GT really!
  21. Hi guys, I thought I'd post my first message after getting up to scratch with what's been going on here. I've found the US site really good for technical stuff and I'm chuffed to hear that we've teamed up with them. A bit about myself - I'm an Engineer at Nissan Technical Centre Europe in Cranfield, so I'll do my best to help out with any tech issues although unfortunately I've not been involved in any Z33 development myself! A bit about my Z - I've recently bought a domestic Gunmetal Z with Rays, boot spoiler and euro dampers from a mate at work. He imported it from new at the start of 2003, so I guess that would have made it one of the first in the UK!
