    Winter Cars!

Brings back memories mate, at about age 4 or 5 I remember riding perched on the back of a TR7 with my uncle in the passenger seat & his girlfriend of the time driving, we didn't go very far but it was a blast! I remember loving that car and its look. I saw one in a garage about 5 years ago, it didn't quite look like I remembered it tho!!!!!
  2. Sylvester you made a decision yet? Ok its not my choice but seems to fit the bill of everything you're looking for: my mate has been checking out a Mazda 6 MPS. 2.3 turbo, 0-60 6.6 secs which isn't slow in anyones book. Fully kitted out, 18" wheels, the only option you pay for is sat nav (hey, its even got memory elec seats as standard!), from a dealer with 4 miles on it (yes 4 miles) - a shade under £20k. Don't know what it drives like, he hasn't been out in it yet, may be worth a look though?????
  3. No resolutions as such this year, I always break em anyway (apart from last year when I didn't drink any alcohol whatsoever in January, I'm quite proud of that!). A few personal things I'm looking to change, eg try to be a bit less grumpy in the mornings etc but nothing I'm putting down as a resolution.
  4. Sounds like a challenge to Sarnie to me. Im up for that challenge +1
  5. Nah, can't be a typo mate cos it goes on to say price is per wheel. They are nasty tho
  6. I hated the Bridgestones and got rid as soon as poss. Reasonably decent on a track cos you're able to generate far more heat into them. Definately a summer tyre, completely useless in damp/wet/icy/mud/overcast/dew/snail mess etc etc etc - basically anything that isn't nice & hot. I've been running Falken FK452 for about the last 9-10k and they're still wearing well. Very grippy in the dry and much, much better than the 'stones on anything else. I also considered the Toyo T1R at the time I got the Falks, the reason I didn't plump for Toyo was that I reckoned overall they were very similar but the wear rate SHOULD be slightly better on the Falkens as they are a slightly harder compound iirc. Guess it depends what you want to spend, I didn't really want to go over about £450 which meant I was limited. If you've got a bigger budget I would suggest you spend it. Also I'd steer clear of any recommendations of tyres from other cars (no disrespect whatsoever to anyone thats posted those comments) as tyres perform very differently on different cars.
  7. Don't know if you've gone yet or not mate, just catching up on this thread. On the assumption you haven't then, have you ever ice skated? If you have and you were any good then go on blades (the very short skis) - its exactly the same apart from you squat a bit more. Turning, stopping and where you put your weight are EXACTLY the same as ice skating and if anyone tells you any different they are wrong.
  8. I've had mine to 150 (not in this country) indicated on the trip computer (have checked its accuracy with GPS and its only 2mph out) more than once and there was absolutely no problem getting to that speed, tbh I didn't notice much difference in how she was pulling either. Still felt like there was plenty to go but backed off cos of approaching traffic. On a straight road, not going up a huge hill & without a shedload of wind against you theres no way it should be struggling to get over 130 mate sounds like you've got a problem to me. Btw mines a 54plate, UK car, totally standard.
  9. Not my taste tbh but a fantastic achievement none the less, nice moves
  10. Happy Christmas & a great New Year to you all!!! Sarnie especially, what a great present thats gonna be for ya mate
  11. Yeah, nice one Kuro. I'm looking to do the same thing for next year so thats saved me a load of hassle Out of interest where are your dealers??
  12. I went for the satin too, reckon they match the door handles better too.......
  13. Yeah no probs mate. I'll be at some of the meets next year no doubt. Wish I knew how fast it was on full boost, havent been able to use it at full whack yet, have to wait for spring for that. Can I book a ride too please?????????
  14. !! I've got a bit of experience now of this, if the dealers who are trying to sort my system out are right then the docking thingy would be around £120+ VAT but as Mike has pointed out you also need the control unit - that'll be the really expensive bit! Looking at your pics its definately missing, it would be attached to the false floor you pulled up in the box and its a pretty large unit so you wouldn't have missed it and theres nowhere else in there to hide it. As suggested a breaker is most probably the best bet. And if you do source all the bits you'll also need to buy a bluetooth adaptor which will set you back another £100.
  15. Disagree mate, big story, BIG ending!!!!
  16. Arrggghhh Toy Story, yeah, how'd I forget that too????
  17. Done yourself out of a couple of slots there Mike!! Plus no Incredibles????
  18. In no order, and at least I've kept to 10 (and yes, putting trilogy is cheating!!) Star Wars (IV) Shawshank Redemption Goodfellas Happy Gilmore High Fidelity Gone in 60 Seconds Minority Report The Shining Ferris Bueller's Day Off Pulp Fiction A list of 20 would be easier, but then were do you stop? So many to leave out............thought long & hard how to squeeze Matrix in there too EDIT: hell! And Leon, this aint easy!!!
  19. Crouch is 6' 7", come on Sarnie...........
  20. On Sat night she said she'd become close friends with Ray, I said to my missus that I hope Ray wasn't attached cos his girlfriend will well be giving him some grief. She may as well give up now was my next comment............very nice & VERY talented.
  21. If theres any probs with the dealer disputing it mate, my dealers is Lythgoe Nissan in Bolton on 01204 360600, they sorted it without any disputes or arguments so they can always get the warranty info over the phone I'd guess. PM me if you need my reg to tie it up with. Good luck
