Gimicky IMO. Overall, I wouldn't say I dislike it, but they've tried to be quirky and got it a little bit wrong on the styling front. The bling looks a bit cheap too I think. I'm sure you could make one look quite nice. Agree on the old technology of them though.

25, living in the M4 corrider, 4 cars in the house (that I own), yes it's a bite out of my income, but wouldn't change it at all. Ultimately the fuel cost would be same in any other car with the same fuel consumption, so not Zed specific I don't think!

Let me know how you get on get12? I've got exactly the same, kerbed by previous oowner (not badly) but definitely corroding....

Don't forget that this time of year it's when the roads aren't properly wet that they're at their most slippery. After a dry summer the roads get caked in tree sap, dust etc that as soon as it rains a little becomes more of a slippery mixture rather than just water. Check out the colour of the flecks on your windscreen when they hit it..... When it's proper wet the tyres are dispersing water, they're not so good on a coating on the road. So just be careful. Oh, and be careful of roundabouts anywhere near petrol stations, after deliveries as the trucks corner there's often minor spillages which don't help! Sorry you stuffed it, hope it's not too bad. We all live and learn, as long as no one was hurt.

Found a place that will do the wheel bolts, jack, glove box and boot lining for £50 delivered! www.partsgateway.co.uk Great site!

Likewise Ming, I wouldn't have accepted this otherwise!! It's all good fun! Now, off to the chromers......

I agree. My fitness has improved no end since getting the Zed, walking from the far end of every car park!! I can just see that 'popping in for a pint of milk' results in a swift run in and returning with a ding and the protectors still in the boot!
-
Fit a sensitive proximity sensor to it, that'll scare anyone who gets close, either personally or with their door!! It's a nice idea Mike, but do think it would attract attention. And would you really take the time to use them EVERY time you parked?
-
use elephant.co.uk then they let you use your no claims Yep, just call them first. Brokers normally do too. I bit the bullet a while ago and insured all three separately. Have built up nice pile of no claims though!

lol - I had someone do that to me in my last car. I feigned shock and smiled and asked him politely 'Does your mother know you use such language?' He shut up.

Yeah, thanks guys. Hope you're not feeling the pressure Ming with all this money going on you!! That's where my garage comes in to it's own. It's even carpeted for comfort!! lol Good luck with the powder coaters. To be honest I still haven't decided on a colour! Others around are getting it moving though. Had to take my foot off the pedal for the last week as I've been arguing with insurance companies non-stop! Sure the strut brace removal will be fine.

Given the age of these cars I wouldn't expect massive changes to be experienced from the claying. It'll iron out those minor imperfections and give a good base. AG Resin is a good polish. But I've ditched it at the moment for Extra Deep Shine. Now that is awesome, much less resin (so far anyway) and you can certainly tell the difference. Try it. Apologies for the thread hi-jack! How are you doing with the interior marks?

Depends what you're using and what you want to achieve. Meguiars does have a good following but then concourse winners tend to have Glym in their repertoire somewhere along the lines. I don't believe you can get a super smooth finish without the effort, so while Meguiars might have the chemical effect, not sure it actually results in a better quality finish....... Either way, any cleaning effort is good in my book!!! I defer to your better knowledge H5 (I have been following the "bling off" ) I'm not knocking Autoglym as a whole though, far from it, I am a fan of the combined layered protection of their "super resin polish" and "extra gloss protetction" products, but whilst these do seem to give a good protective seal the finish did not have the lustre I wanted (but I'm probably doing it wrong!) so I feel it needs a wax over the top and I have found Megs to be easier for this frequent post wash wax shine. I totally agree that the effort is required and pays dividends but the Autoglym job above (resin polish and gloss) takes a looooong time and the gloss dries so hard (which I guess is the desired result) that its a $od of a job to buff off.... and it leaves a white residue in some of the hard to reach cracks (like the seal between the roof and top of door frame on the Zed). But its only a 6 monthly job so maybe I should get over it. Any tips for an amateur scrubber? Do you know af any other products that offer this same tough paint seal but are easier to apply? Do I need a buffer??? Will it cause swirl marks? (dont say only if you use it wrong because I promise I will! ) All that follows is my view, I'm no professional! I'd agree with the white bits on the resin polish. But if you think about the way it works it will help explain. It's being rubbed in and then drying to remove some of those imperfections and 'cutting' the paintwork. Therefore in that residue are those bits of 'stuff'. Really, it's the steps before that that determine the quality of the finish. The paint has to be clean, free from debris you're only going to actually swirl around the car (hence swirl effects - one cause of). As for the shine, ask is the paint shining, or the product.......?? If you spray your car with glitter, it's the glitter shimmering, not the paint. So you need to work the paint, then shine the surface, then seal it. I always use Ultra Gloss as it protects the paint over the winter and gives a hardened cover, and does help reduce stone chips. I'll do a test with Megs and see what happens, results on here. Tips really are to try out different products I'd say. Oh, and try and get the car inside. Easier said than done, but wash your car outside, dry it and then after 3-4mins wipe a piece of tissue lightly over the roof or bonnet, there'll be tiny amounts of dust and dirt settling immediately, This reduces vastly inside. Final tip - cloths - plenty of, and wash them. If what you're using to rub the car is wrong, how do you expect the product to work? I'll try any of these new products to see what they do. Glym has heritage though! As for protections, not so sure, will check it out. Ultra Gloss is my preferred. Buffer. No. Don't do it. One tiny speck of dirt, spinning at X hundred rpm = pain. One instruction on every product I've ever bought - turn cloth regularly. There for a reason. Hope this helps.

Nothing wrong with that, hadn't seen a roadster in the flesh, let alone sat in or driven a 350Z before buying!! Nothing 'wrong' at all, especially when it concerns a Zed! Just handing over £28k based on a picture is one brave move. You'll love the car though, enjoy! And get the playlist sorted. Then forget about it and listen to that noise!

What's his username and I'll try it. Thanks.

One man on a mission to ruin a perfectly good car I see.....! High end stereo install my ass! This did intrigue me though.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... mot_widget

That is on the list, but the only one I know of is up the A1 (Volvo one that is!) and since I'm daaaan saaaff it's a bit of a trek. Was hoping there'd be a nice easy route elsewhere. Found one place that sells all sorts but they work out to almost £3 each starting price!

Are you saying you've just ordered one, without driving one???
-
Both have the pads, cheers. It's the wheel bolts I'm struggling to find.......!
-
Had a look on eBay for these parts for my Volvo - brakes have 6+ days left and no wheel bolts. Googled it too and nothing useful that I could see. Any ideas where I could get cheap examples of the above?? Cheers, Rob.

H5 replied to Removed's topic in Spotted or Flyered
I saw 6 on my trip to Manc and back in a day - must be something around that area that they all drive in the middle of the day and don't have any work to do!!!! -
Coating, pah, it's all about the materials Ming!!
-
Wwe must miss each other all the time down here!! I've spotted every non-member in the country now though!!

Rob The strut is filled with a sort of polystyrene hard foam. They said it was for strength but htat is bollox. I think that there must have been a vibration problem so they damped it out. I gotta work out a way to get it out - easy - get it powder coated - easy - and then re fill it - not quite so easy. But I have ideas. I am sure before long its gonna be Purppplllleeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ming the Mind bender Are you referring ot the front or rear??
