  1. If you want something subtle, then there are many skilled people out there that enjoy the challenge of someone saying 'I want a better sound but don't want to ruin the look of my car' Try these links to see what people can do: - http://www.soundgallery.co.uk/ Go to car, then click on the image of the Bugatti and then on the big BBG logo. Then you'll get to a gallery. http://www.sourcecars.com/gallery/galle ... index.html Direct link. Both the above know how to get an awesome sound, and are proven competition winners.
  2. H5

    crashed!

When I had mine done it transformed the car. So much nicer to drive straight away!
  3. A proper install like this? - even if I do say so myself! OK, it's about matching the sub with the right power. A 10W7 will drop way beyond many other subs. I had people in the car with their CD's and they were convinced I had at least '2 12's' or more. When they saw the 1 10" they were gobsmacked. If you got one of these with a 500/1 amplifier, you would never ever get tired of the sheer brutality it could dish out. And I had the amp on minimum gain! Unfortunately it's been uninstalled. The car was stolen and I got it back today! But if you want to hear a car with one in, I'm sure it could be arranged at a show sometime soon? Where would you want to put it in the car?
  4. Have a look here http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1857&highlight= 12's will go as well They're 10's aren't they??
  5. This is exactly my point on paying to have it installed properly. Something like a JL Audio 10W3 properly installed in a nice enclosure would give you a great sound. And in something the size of a Zed be more than capable in the volume stakes! The other thing which people generally talk a lot of is how many watts things are. With the exception of those with regulated power supplies, none of the amps ever deliver that. Why? Because they're rated at a power input of 14.4v. How much power comes from a battery.....?? And by the time it's travelled down a thick cable etc etc. And then there's the resistance of the speaker.... This might help explain it. http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_amps ... page_id=46 Speaking to a local dealer (those that have many brands and build their reputation on what they install) will mean what you buy you'll love. I've had two installs in my life time (albeit they were developed a lot over time!! ) it's because what I bought was right at the time. I put it down to good advice. If you want a good sub and listen to a lot of R and B, do you want to buy a JL Audio 10W7 at all?????
  6. I reckon my next step is some ribbon tweeters.......!!
  7. That was my concern and why I asked. Looks nice but does seem cheap.

  9. Fair enough, although there is room for a mid up on the dash..... Have you heard the Focal Beryllium tweeter.....?? Now they're expensive!
  10. Thanks! Oooh, shiny stuff. What intake is that?
  11. I'm back Still the same computer illiterate pain though.....! You can delete H5 take two if you like. Thanks guys.
  12. The guys that built my Volvo into a trophy winning sound off car could help. You prepared to travel up to sunny Berkshire??
  13. Nice kit selection, have heard the Focals running off that amp and they do sound very nice. Make sure you get those tweeters up the a-pillar tho! The one thing that should tell you if you NEED rear speakers, is how is music recorded??? In STEREO, not 4 channel or anything (unless Dolby 5.1 or DTS).
  14. lol - I'm not alone!! This happened to me on my last house. Unfortunately sanding it down and trying to bring it back up didn't work. Had to repaint. Looked good in the end though!!
  15. ......and breath....! Maybe we should invite him to a Zed meet!!
  16. 'No highs, no lows, it must be BOSE' I can understand where you're coming from regarding the compatibility, not the best. But a head unit change will result in a change in required for everything else...... As for the sound, how have you got it set up? For a vaguely decent sound, you'll need to fade it forwards a couple to get rid of the confusion from the rear mounted speakers. It also adds a slight definition to the bass. As for the 'one 10 isn't enough, I need 2 12's', I couldn't disagree more. A decent 10" sub would give you more useable bass hands down. 12" subs do not have the snappiness you'd need for general listening unless you're putting mid bass drivers in the front doors? My last competition car had one 10" sub strapped to a proper amp and that could get all the way down to sub-sonic levels and still snap like mad on dance tracks. Please don't add a person's worth of weight with 2 12" subs, buy a decent 10 and spend the rest on proper install and finishing. Plus to do the 12's justice you'd need two amps. And then you'll need to spend a lot of time listening to set it up, if music is your bag. Got plenty of test CD's if you're interested, so you can see what it should be doing. Depends how far you want to go!
  17. I wondered how long it would be. The rub over was the new Auto Glym Extra Deep Shine. Awesome polish especially for newer or darker cars. The winter jacket is Auto Glym Ultra Gloss Protection. It's a semi-permanent coating that gives a rather deep shine and protects the paintwork. I put it on at this time of year to help the car through the winter. Plus, just washing it brings it back up. I did the Zed too........ Ideally need to get the car inside to do it tho, so careful movements in the garage might be needed.
  18. Already had someone try that mate! I just love cars!
  19. It's easy. Get them on your PC then upload them to Photobucket (www.photobucket.com) - it's easy, even I can do it! Then, when writing a post click on the 'IMG' box on the photo in Photobucket, press Ctrl+c (copy) and then Ctrl+v (paste) into the body of your post. Ah la, it's done!
  20. It had been to the dealer for some lock changes after the burglary incident. They 'washed' it and this is it after a rinse: - And the OS rear wing:- Then after my wash:- And the OS rear wing after wash:- Then came a little rub over:- That OS rear wing again (scratches almost gone!):- Then the winter jacket went on and was left for an hour or two to dry:- Result being:- Now happy that it should get through the winter ready for a real shine in the new year! What do ya think??
  21. They're not checking out your warranty, they're effectively submitting a request to Nissan GB that they will underwrite the cost of the parts and labour. Remember that these people are running their own businesses independently of the manufacturer and get screwed over themselves as well. I'm not defending any poor customer service on the whole, but what they've done is try and check that the parts would be paid for, be available and get given the go ahead to do it. As I understand it, it's not a cheap job. Any of the discussions on here would tell you that they do the check first and then get it back in for the work. Still a pain, I agree, I wasn't expecting it either. As for BMW providing that service, that's great, and I believe the Reading Nissan does the same. All depends if you want a mechanic driving your pride and joy. For me, not a chance.
  22. That white one looks awesome. With a very fine glitter overspray it would look truly awesome in the sun......
