  1. And of course the rag top doesn't impact the aerodynamics or drag coefficient at all???????? No way in the world a 1.3% change in weight gives a 13% difference in performance!!!! That would mean with an adult at 150lb and a full rank of fuel at 100lb you're saying the Zed would become a 9.4 second to 60 car. I don't think so. Not really comparing like with like with a soft top with a hard top. This is purely down to a weight point, pure and simple.
  2. Another person that thinks passengers sap power?? If the weight goes up, the engine puts out the same power. If the weight goes up, the pwer to weight ratio goes down. Torque being the measure of getting something moving overcomes the 1,400kg+ of kerb weight, so what difference does another 50kg make - 3.5% - so if you're telling me you can tell a 0.19 second difference on a 0-60 that's cool. I'm saying that with leather, tonneau covers, CD's, washer fluid etc etc. I think it's a bizarre reason!
  3. LOL - I was there 8.30 - 9. They must've thought we were doing a relay!
  4. Whats all the about??? lol - I'm not even going to ask if you're serious!! Each to their own!

Just check everything out and anything you're not even slightly happy with highlight to them and reduce the cost of correction (plus a bit! ) into the calculation. Then pay what you're happy with - does that include a warranty?
  6. That's fine, I'll hold the fort guys! T'was cool, only Zed there, and she's nice and sparkly after the weekend. Some little chav had the audacity to ask why it wasn't modified........!!
  7. Have you got a close up shot of the centre, I'm confoosed!!
  8. If you've got some bad marks on the car, there will be a treatment for almost every type of problem. Tar remover is a solvent based product that removes the muck. Then you need to 'renovate' the paint (light cut) as this will dull the paint. Then polish, then wax / seal. With these things a little care now will do wonders in the medium / long term. Hope this helps.
  9. Welcome! Mate of mine had a CTR and and S2000. Both great but nothing compared to the Zed for sheer power and grin factor. Get your name down for one!
  10. Cue Sarnie...... Glad the axle is fixed though!
  11. Any of you United fans coming to sunny Berkshire on Saturday then?? I'll be waiting with the kettle on and my season ticket!
  12. Do passengers sap power from a car then??????? It normally feels faster as they're either screaming or grinning! I don't disagree with the weight fact. Purely on noticing it and the average fuel consumption being any better.
  13. About 25 years Damn, gonna have to buy a Cherry!

what model mate??? UK '06 Coupe I bought two badges in the group buy on here but thought I might leave the back one off, dont have a choice now.... (dont fancy a fill 'n' spray) OK sound worth bearin in mind for future 06 owners You saying pre MY06 they don't Liam?
  15. How old does a car have to be before it can get classic status...??
  16. If it was my only one, no I wouldn't, but then I'd take everything else out of the car. My point is in a car with as much torque and weighs as much as it does anyway, I can't believe it's noticeable......
  17. ........depending how old the car is....... Brand new, no point. Sorry but at this rate think we'll be disagreeing all nite Brand new from dealer ok then Brand new, met the elements then sorry your wrong lol Agree mate!
  18. LMFAO at the fuel!! How much does the extra 50 litres weigh....?? Much less than a passenger and you've got 363NM of torque!!!!!!!!!!! You reckon you'd pass a 'blind' test driving two Zeds one with £20 in and one full.......??
  19. It's not just Zed's Buds. Thanks to recent interest rate hikes cars are the first thing to go. Check out the depreciation in Glass' for August! Agree with most of what's written above. UK car = warranty, little more piece of mind but costs. Import = potential bargain, potential pain (only based on what I've read on here!). Either way, it'll be awesome fun, go do it!
  20. ........depending how old the car is....... Brand new, no point.
  21. Very very good advice Amazing how a full tank of juice affects performance Are you serious?? I fill mine up if I know I'm going to be using it. Just think of all the money you waste driving backwards and forwards to the station (or going past one) and keep starting the car and all the wear and tear on ignition parts. Surely you're not arguing a realisable benefit from filling up bit by bit?? Main reason for putting a little in mine at a time is if it's not being used so any pikey futher mucker stealing will only get down the road before I have to batter them!
