  1. Not bad?! Nope - see little point, but may give it a go.... Ross - you would say that!! Mark - most of them are a bit blurred. I need to blur number plates before posting though.....
  2. Hell yeah!! What's your budget, what do you want doing and what finish do you want? eg P21S looks great but lasts 1-2 weeks tops. jetSEAL is a good base. From what I have heard, Collinite is ultra long lasting. I will be testing this on the Volvo soon. I'm guessing there are no swirl marks on the bodywork? Budget? I dunno. I just want it to look shiny and for someone else to do it WRT swirl marks there are some present courtesy of the previous owners Which is fine. It depends how much time you are prepared to spend keeping it up to scratch. If you don't mind waxing it once a week / 2 weeks, P21S it is. If not, Collinite or jetSEAL are others to consider. Then you will need a carnuba top up to keep the shine. Any pics of the swirl marks? Depending how bad, it may need a Makita / Porter Cable with some compounds to get them out. If is is surface swirls, then it may be possible to improve them by hand. Best way to get the pics is when it is darker with a bright light reflecting in the surface. All sounds good, so when you coming to do it?? When you've sorted out your budget!
  3. Depends what the policy says. Some say that the car has to be regsitered to named drivers on the policy.

  6. As long as that doesn't apply to all areas mate....! Want the Lambo doing then??
  7. Are you saying the build up is quicker now than it was? I get this, as I think everyone does, and a regular clean keeps it looking respectable. Is the car smoking / puffing any sooty substance?
  8. + 1!! I drive into mine front first as there is enough room for me to work in the engine bay if the rear is up to the main door. The mirror acts as the guide when driving in to protect the front wing. In my 'standard' garage, I can easily walk down one side but not enough room to remove a wheel for example.
  9. Here she is in current state - list of products is as follows:- CG Maxi Suds II Filtered water via Flash system Meguiars Clay Bar system AG Ultra Deep Shine CG jetSEAL109 (wheels as well) P21S wax Brasso AG Leather Cleaner AG Leather Care Cream AG Vinyl and Rubber Care AG Glass Polish I will be trying some Collinite wax on the car for the winter, possibly on top of a jetSEAL base. New CG wash n gloss wash to try too. I also have an Aqua Gleam to filter the water down to 30 ppm to see how much better (if any) it is than the flash system. Any other suggestions??

    IM BACK WITH PICS!!!

If people drive around with their front fog lights on, I put my rear one on if they're behind me. Working on the theory that if they are struggling to see I should give them all the help they need. And main beam lights aren't going to make me switch it off, I already have blurred vision from the foglights. If a car looks good it doesn't need need fog lights to do it - if it does, it's no good. And it defeats the object by blinding everyone anyway! (And I happened to end up in a bush in a Mini a few years ago after the driver was blinded by the foglights on a Pug 406..... )
  11. That's one thing that surprises a lot of people Kev. It's better over a lot of bumps because of it's weight. So, wwhat's the decision......???
  12. I take it that means it really wasn't that hard!!
  13. now you are doing it didnt understand a word Which bit don't you get???
  14. Exactly. It is down to the dealer. Therein lies the problem..... I should clarify, my gearbox work was done immediately. It was another warranty issue around wheels that took 11 months. That have now been fitted!! Brand new wheels, finished the detailing work on the body work too, and I'm quite liking the look at the moment!
  15. If you put your nail / credit card under the washer you will find it is 'spring loaded' (not exactly, but it extends up with very little effort) and can be lifted up. With one hand or a pair of pliers you can hold the washer proud of the bumber and work at unclipping the painted cover. Other than that, it's a bolt and panel clip removal effort in the arches and along the top / bottom of the bumper. If that makes sense!!
  16. You'd think so...... That's the very reason it took me 11 months to get mine sorted. They denied it. Logging it with NMGB will prevent any chance of it happening.
  17. I which case I STRONGLY recommend ringing NMGB and let them know of your situation ASAP. That way, it is logged centrally, not on a local dealer's system. I would then formally book it in with them and another dealer (if you have time) and you are getting an instant second opinion. It doesn't hurt reminding Waltham Abbey that you are aware a TSB was issued for this problem.
  18. A TSB is a Technical Service Bulletin (IIRC) and NMGB are Nissan Motors Geat Britain (the UK importers / dealer franchise owner for Nissan in the UK) Most dealers are aware of it, and if you call one locally to discuss it you might save yourself some time. The issue with this little problem, is that changing from a high rev speed from 4th to 6th puts you north of the speed limit. If you can demonstrate it yourself, then it is normally something the dealer accepts and gets on with. Have you taken the dealer out? Is it still under warranty?
  19. Oh that one. That I already have my name down for....
  20. Welcome! I have a Lotus in the stable too, so know what you mean. Wait until you get north of 100mph (on a private road / track of course) then you'll notice the difference in the Zed. Another candidate for the Wokingham area meet??

Welcome to the site! As Mark (MAB) said we met up on Sunday (and there were a few deserters who should have been there too!) so it may be worth doing something more regularly in the Wokingham / Reading area?
