  1. After some careful consideration and heart breaking I've now reduced the price further in the final hope of a quick sale before deciding to keep it instead... It now is the cheapest in the country for age, mileage and spec so hope this attracts some attention... thanks, Pete.
  2. I'm actually planning on downgrading for a while so have helped a mate out who wanted to sell so bought back my old Golf GTi 1.8 Turbo (2000/W) that I sold to him 2 years ago. I sold it at 55,000 miles - it's now done 105,000 miles and having got used to the Z this thing wallows around like an old boat so will probably need to tune up the suspension before doing anything else but the engine & turbo are still strong so should be good for a while... hence the reason for hopefully selling quickly as I already have the Golf and to back out now and keep the Z will mean selling the Golf instead... I even had money saved up for the Nismo exhaust & pop-charger etc but am also under pressure to make some home improvements so this seems like the "sad but sensible" option for now!! It's a great forum and like many others who don't post loads it's always a good read so thanks for all the contributions and assuming I get a sale soon I'll hope to be back again in a year or two...
  3. Thanks guys and no offence taken Sarnie - there's no such thing as bad publicity right? (don't answer that though! )... it's all drawing attention anyway and I still believe it's a great price for someone looking for a recent Z in mint condition!
  4. Many thanks Beavis - fully agree with all your comments which reassure me mine is still priced among the cheapest in the country and while I hadn't seen the other advert (which looks a bit too good to be true given the bulk of similar spec cars are still asking £20k+ and the seller clearly doesn't know too much about the car if quoting 310bhp for a 56 plate) I realize it's not great timing (even though I've been offered £18-18.5k by the trade) so will hope I can sell at the current asking price... Thanks again, Pete.
  5. Many thanks for your recommendation Trev. I'd of course prefer to sell to a forum member (did I mention the stubby aerial ) who will truly appreciate the car for all it is... I've just dropped the price further today to just £18750 in the hope of selling the car this week as I've now already got my replacement (even if it is a big step down ) It now must be the cheapest Facelift/300 bhp Z in the country ignoring the fact it's: - at least 6 months younger on a 56 plate - Full GT Pack - DVD Navigation If it doesn't shift at this price I'm genuinely re-thinking my options and will probably enjoy it for another 6 months and try again!
  6. Hi folks, Unfortunately after 10 great months of ownership I'm now forced to part ways with the Z (wife has convinced me we need more money for home improvements!) so please see below details and don't hesitate to PM me if you need any more details. I'm looking for a quick sale so believe this is the cheapest 56 plate GT by some margin (even without considering the on-board nav). For sale is my full spec UK facelift model (300bhp) 350Z GT Coupe Full additional spec is as follows: Nissan 350z GT Coupe (2006/56) Azure Blue Pearl Full black leather interior 10,750 miles 15 Months of Nissan Warranty remaining NISSAN DVD SATELLITE NAVIGATION (rare cost option) Full Service History Heated Seats Bose audio system (270W with 7 speakers) 18" RAYS Alloys Bluetooth Phone Preparation Facelift Bi-Xenon headlights with washers & Rear LED lamps I purchased the car with just 5000 miles on the clock and it's been absolutely faultless and still drives like new. The car has not been smoked in at any time and so still smells like a brand new car! The car is presented in immaculate condition and has been garaged every evening and regularly washed and polished so represents a truly exemplary example of this great Coupe. A very original example including the orginal 350Z mats and bluetooth adaptor (often removed from cars before sale) See here for full details & pictures now on Pistonheads: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/547088.htm cheers, Pete.
  7. presume you mean oversteer (i.e. back end stepping out)? If understeering you just need to ease off the throttle to bring the car back into line... oversteer is your more demanding drift action where to hold the speed you need opposite lock and then feed it back in after the apex etc. http://www.indycar.com/101/over_under.php for more details.
  8. I almost prefer the wet days! Much less tyre wear and you get to really play with the car (i.e. much easier to step it out of course)... This thread has already got me ready to book Hullavington on 23rd Nov (just checking finances as busy saving for Nismo exhaust too!) but would consider alternate date & venue if there's a group going?
  9. Hi guys, Not on commission at all but just wanted to really recommend these guys. I've tracked with them several times (although must admit it's been over a year) in my Elise and they were a great bunch (especially Ed and Natasha) with the right emphasis on safety but still letting you have all the fun you need. Plus they're typically cheaper than other track operators... All the events I've attended have been open pit so they do well not to load up the events too much and so I could come and go pretty much as I pleased (remember both you and your car will benefit from a break after 10-15 laps!) I've been to both Keevil and Hullavington - both good airfield tracks with a good surface and plenty of tarmac run-offs (hence much safer to really push it - preferable to sliding off into grass and not slowing down at all until you hit the tyre wall - ouch!) That's about all I can say but if you've any further queries please shout. cheers, Pete.
  10. Thanks all for the great feedback and good to know I'm not alone with these little woes - still all it takes is a little burn down a good road and you forgive them all! Thanks for the input MAB and yeah, will keep an eye out for you too... the "drift" roundabout is very near the ones you mention - it's by the drive-thru McDonalds joining the Mill Lane dual carriageway (good job 2 as I needed both lanes!) Re: the Bluetooth adaptor, again appreciate the input. Mine's actually a 56 plate so assume it should have definitely been provided with the car. Slight problem might be that I purchased the car from a Vauxhall dealer not Nissan - the advert for the car did quote "Bluetooth Phone Preparation" but I'm sure they're covered against mistakes - will call the dealer and see what they'll do... I actually purchased the car without seeing it with deposit conditional on the car being completely mint which is as they described it. Obviously gave the car a good going over when it arrived plus drove it before paying any money - just missed this... If the dealer won't cough up, I'll add it to the ever expanding list of mods needed for the car. Got £1000 saved so far so think I'll stick to getting the Nismo exhaust and hi-flow cats before the phone kit! Replacing the side reflectors with anything non-orange is high on the list too... For the tyres it sounds like a perfect excuse to wear them down on a track day - although I might try and stick with them for 3-4 months in the hope I can save up some more pennies for the GT4 wheels which I'd love too... One more quick question - I'm assuming any minor mods applied to the car (e.g. popcharger, exhaust) will not affect the manufacturers warranty overall? Also would adding Nismo parts make any difference here assuming they are then "Nissan Approved" modifications? Thx again folks, Pete.
  11. sorry mods - not sure why the pic link didn't work? works fine if I paste it directly into the browser?
  12. Hey folks, Well it's been just about a month in the Z so far so thought I'd take a moment to reflect on the experience so far, and incorporate a few newbie questions that I haven't heard answered elsewhere if that's ok??? The Good The whole experience from the moment you first sit in the car, smell of fresh leather through turning the key to hear the V6 rumble with so much potential! Love the centre console running upto short stubby gearstick etc. Build quality is much better than expected - all my mates comment on how non-Japanese it feels! Good to see the rest of the world catching up with Germany here... Love the little touches I still keep spotting, e.g. the Z logo inside the door (i.e. only visible when the door open), the orange side LED's on the front (06+) lights, wipers with integrated washers, Z logo from rear brace you can see reflected onto back windows etc. etc. I keep finding more hidden gems! The clutch is much lighter than I ever expected (even knowing it would be lighter on 06+ models) with high biting point so still adjusting to it to be honest (I need to do more miles!) but otherwise pedals feel great - steering very positive and lots of confidence in handling... performance is also slowly improving - not the car but my ability to drive it (more used to turbo-charged hatches!) so lovely to keep seeing hidden depths and the knowledge I won't master the machine overnight! The little drift mentioned below has also got me thinking about a track day so will hope to look into that too when funds allow... The looks! Ok so I'm preaching to the converted but I was in two minds initially but having a seeing a couple on the roads now I'm totally sold! p.s. got passed by a lovely GM 56 plate on the M3 (J4->J3) on Saturday afternoon complete with stubby aerial so must be on the forum... Modding - I love the standard car but can't wait to start modding so am busy saving to sort the essential stuff, exhaust, non-orange reflectors, pop charger plus would love the Nismo kit but all in good time! The Not So Good Early Drifting Lesson! - On the second day in the car, slightly wet roads just pulling off a roundabout at only 20mph, the back end steps out (approx 20 degrees from where the wheels were pointing anyway) - either my natural opposite lock instinct or the ESP kicking in managed to recover it - completely unexpected and still got no idea why it happened. What makes it more bizarre is my wife got home a few days later after we had to swap cars for the day and she had the exact same experience (ESP in her case of course ) in the same place. It's not been repeated elsewhere so putting it down to oil on road etc and not the car although I pushed her Boxster S round the same corner in the wet with no worries at all... I know it's born to be the perfect drift machine but stepping out that easily? Colour - I know it's been mentioned before but the colour matching from metal to non-metal (e.g. fuel filler, window surround) not exactly great - to be honest I only noticed it with the car in the garage and didn't even realize until then the window surrounds weren't metal... Bluetooth Kit - I assume my car should have come with the full bluetooth adaptor as this was supplied with all 06 GT models on right? I have the preparation of course - just don't have the adaptor itself to sit in the cradle? Please let me know as if so I'll go back to the dealer as I believe this should have been provided? Indicators - it's a small complaint but I swear they don't auto-switch off as readily as any other car I've driven - I keep finding myself having to switch off the indicators myself even after completing a 90 degree left turn - anyone else have this issue and can it be adjusted? Heated Seats - work great for a while but unlike other cars I've owned I believe from the manual that these have a thermostat so the moment they get slightly warm they cut out so they're forver heating and cooling instead of sustaining a fixed level of heat? I assume they're working correctly or am I missing a trick? CD - The usual Bose skipping issue is really bad so will need to get that replaced under warranty - have read the posts on the forum so thanks for all the input and advice... Beyond that, all the good inifinitely outweights the bad so overall I'm just loving the car and can't wait to start modding it! Thanks again all for such a great forum! cheers, Pete. p.s. standard model so far but he she is! http://byfiles.storage.live.com/y1pc7E1 ... 8JghsduPEo
  13. Hi folks, Well, having come from a Lotus the Z needs to be a good deal louder! I've had a great quote from Adam@Z1 for the Nismo exhaust and hi-flow cats for $1945 delivered to UK so just keen to understand how much difference the HFC's really make? I'm assuming the exhuast alone makes no improvement to performance - just noise whereas with the Nismo + HFC's I could expect 5 bhp gain plus even more noise above having the Nismo alone? Anyone upgraded both in separate phases that can speak to the difference each mod made? Problem I have right now is I only have budget to get the exhaust so should I get that now and the HFC's later or wait until payday and get both together?!! I'll want a popcharger soon too but figure it makes sense to go for the HFC's while I'm doing the exhaust anyway so it's all done in a single fitting (whether by myself or local garage)? Thanks again to Adam for the prompt responses and I'll no doubt get back to you soon! cheers, Pete.
  14. already on the case for when I get spotted again! trying to search on ebay now for the cheapest deal on a stubby aerial... apologies if I'm veering off topic from the original welcome but other posts in the forum suggest the IS300 JDM aerial is a closer (more OEM) fit but I can't find one anywhere so will probably go for the Honda one (approx £12 inc delivery on Ebay is the cheapest I've seen). plus I've also PM'd Adam re: the exhaust so will get his advice on Nismo vs. alternatives plus whether to get the hi-flow cats as well etc. cheers, Pete.
