  1. I've been banned from speaking to Phil byt he missus until I pay for a new carpet At least once its done (sometime this month), I'm then free to spend my money on what I like! Xmas trip to Phils may be on the cards (oh and gonna sneak the odd £50 to get me a Nismo gear knob ) Tell me about it. I had a chat with Phil on Friday which resulted in an immediate purchase!
  2. Just stumbled across this thread. I think I may have to ask for my account to be removed from the site and my IP address blocked. Either that or cut up any means of spending money. I love these wheels and the NISMO kit.

    Cosworth Plenum

One other question - the picture shows a car with no strut brace one. Are there clearance issues with one of these fitted?

So are you able to confirm that the power gains (from the data sheets) are accurate? How much deposit needed?

    Bike Rack

I am ssure the local Halfords or Nissan dealer would be able to advise. I doubt you would get a bike in the car as the strut brace would get in the way. If a bike is going to sway the decision between a Zed and a TT, be prepared to be disappointed when you don't have the bike on the back.
  6. Good plan. Any people in the Brum area recommend something? I already have, in this thread Fancy organising it then?
  7. I do like that colour, think it would look awesome after some effort. Plus I guess you're unlikely to feel a huge difference with your high flow cats and plenum spacer as that would lift the standard power a tad?

    Insurance

You must be 50 soon, it'll be cheaper then ??? You're on a charm offensive this morning aren't you!!
  9. Yeah yeah You've never been north of Oxford When I was competing I was doing Sheffield and back by lunch time! But you're right, I do try and avoid it! Seriously, if it wasn't for the game, I would have been there.
  10. Doesn't that make somewhere like Nottingham broadly a pain in the basckside for everyone to get to so the most likely place?? Why not try and get a stand at Donny show next year for all to meet at, then we could make a weekend of it for those that want to, or if not it gives people two days to aim for to get there?
  11. Looks like a top day. Will be there for the next one.
  12. Now, now ,jim, that's not nice It was a bit childish, cos I'm envious. The car looks great! By the way, where do you get the Collonite? Jim, H5, Andyc, collinite 915 as Gixxer shows you also where to buy it, it is really good. H5, whats Jetseal, is it a wax? Cheers SATS Hi Sats, As GIXXER found, it is a sealant rather than a wax or polish. It seems to be a bit of a breakthrough - it bonds really wwell with the paintwork and provides a huge amount of protection for a really long time. The build up would be Jetseal - wax - glaze. Brilliant for wheels too. Was interested to see if you had used 476S or 915. I've not played with Collinite yet but have seen the results. Hi H5 Would like to try jetseal on my Nismo's, am using Poorboys wheel wax at present. SATS It's made by Chemical Guys. Clean and Shiny have some stock at the moment I think. It would do well protecting the NISMO's (lucky g!t!) Lucky git say's thank's very much, and i will give it a go . Cheers SATS

    Clean Car = rain?

You had sunshine! Looks good Ross, nice finish. Try some Jetseal for a long lasting shine (months rather than weeks)
  14. Just goes to show how far it can be taken! Am spending the time to get better at knowing what products to select, but that is clearly a pro at work. Respect! same as me, in search of the holy grail of polishes, my garage is full of half empty waxes and polishes Paint correction aside, I'm starting to think there isn't a great deal to it other than personal preference when it comes to waxes and glazes! I agree bud, although i dont think there is a "best" polish/wax as it depends on what colour/ finish the paint is that your applying it to i like to try different ones but they just last too long application and removal has a lot to do with it, i dont use a pc to polish, they seem a little too agressive for the weekly wax, although i will hold my hands up and say i have very limited knowledge of them and with the anorexic paint on the datsun they scare me Agree with that. Depending on the finish and colour there seems to be better waxes than others. Dodo wax is made for specific 'types' of colour. I want to try that too! Application is a lot to do with it, and a PC / UDM would be good for polishing. But I agree, waxing is a hand job IMO. I think you would be ok with a PC and wax, but before I went with any compound on the Zed I would want a paint depth gauge and some idea how to use both! That is why I have a detailer showing me the ropes. And a test car!

  20. http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/s ... t=hologram Here you go bud, explains the concept and there are many other threads discussing similar. I prefer to use Marmite for that particular application!
  21. Have you got any pics? It could be 'hologram' in the paint, which may need cutting back. It could need some sort of wax removal. Chemical Guys do a range, you could start with using a strong mix of their Citrus Wash and Gloss which is a good first step to remove build up of wax. I would avoid using WD40 personally as once it gets into the paint it would make any repair work in the future tougher than necessary.
  22. This takes it to yet another level! http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/s ... hp?t=47444 Am in the process of testing some products with a local detailer, and doing some PC / UDM work as well. The Volvo is being donated to polishing science!

    Clean Car = rain?

I was working from home yesterday afternoon and got onto mine. Surprise surprise, then it starts drizzling. Same as Ming, only got to wax half of it.
