    My Zeds famous!

Nice one Jay! Is your avatar one of these too Stew??
  3. Nice pic Mark. The current state would make a very different picture though!!
  4. Especially when I've got a copy of the invoice Nissan sent to my dealer when mine were done, and it was about a 20th of that!
  5. Welcome back, long time no hear! The 296 has had reports of being more thristy on oil I agree.

    Bleeding Brakes

Now this is a thread that will become very useful....!
  7. Looking great Wayne. That Blackfire certainly seems to do the job!
  8. Cheers for that - it's actually £200 fitted, the £120 is just the labour to fit them....
  9. Thanks for the quick replies...... It looks like a 10W 40 oil from a quick search (it's normal'ish driving really). Looks like Opie can sort the oil and brake fluid. Anyone got any views on these Denso Iridium plugs? Opie seem to have them for £9 each..... The brakes are Performance Friction discs and pads. Is RBF 600 still the right stuff? As you can tell, I'm not the hottest on this sort of stuff!
  10. I agree the P21 or R222 doesn't last as long, but as a last touch and for a wet look, for the money I think it's great. I tend to have jetSEAL and maybe a coat of Collinite under it anyway, so it all helps!
  11. Right, last time I did this I had those fellows at ESR to help me through..... Car needs a P2, coming up for 45k on the clock. Few questions:- 1. What oil do I need? Last time I think I used Millers 15W 30 or 10W 40. 2. Price to fit spark plugs is £120 - is this reasonable? 3. Price for the platinum OEM plugs is £87.01 - is this reasonable? Are there 'better' ones out there? 4. To do the service (excl. oil) is £230 - any views?? 5. Anyone know of a trader that supplies Motul RBF 600 brake fluid? (so I can fit my new brakes! ) Thanks!

    Changing Rear Pads

Just follow the guide and be impressed with some half decent brake caliper design from Brembo. All you need to do is take the cap off the brake fluid and pad the surrounding area with rag to absorb any fluid you might push up when pushing the calipers back to get the new pads in....
  13. For mods, there's all the other traders on here..... CS, Envy, Advanced ME, Z1 Auto etc..... For servicing, there's a good / bad dealer list been started too.....
  14. Welcome to the club We need you to bring your car to shows and drive outs, then we have a chance of getting all the colours together!
  15. Hi there. Apart from the pictures you've seen on my350z, is there a real desire for 7 x 8" subs? If it's been done and budget is open ended, I would say do something completely new.... If you're going with that many subs, all it is likely to do is play one small range of frequencies very loudly. And 8" subs (with maybe the exception of the JL W7) don't shift enough air to give you the lower reaches of bass at the required volume / accuracy. I would invest the money in doing something trick up front, and get it sounding good. Then once you have chosen that, the making it bling is a lot easier. Considering you sit at the front, why put 80% of your budget in the furthest part of the car from you?? My install is a stealth one this time round, and I think it sounds good. It's picked up a trophy in year one and a few members on here seem to like the sound too (which is nice!) and only uses one 10" sub and a pair of front speakers. And it can smash your head to bits if it needs to! Seriously look at the budget and remember the car needs a lot more than equipment. You will need soundproofing and decent cabling. This WILL make a HUGE difference. You can spend £50 on a pair of speakers and install them well and they will embarrass a pair of £200 speakers badly installed. Hope this helps

    My Mum's MX5

The new one is annoyingly good as I've said a few times on here. But they are cramped. Why still put the battery in the passenger footwell?!
  17. Welcome to the club Get those pics up when you've got your new toy!
  18. not many people will pay 25% of the value of their car on wheels Come on mate, we all know there are plenty of people who will spend AS MUCH as the car on wheels!!
  19. Would there be anyone talking to someone in a bar who is talking about how much the wax cost on their car?! Great work, it looks good. But is the wax 100 times better than an R222 or 50 times better than a Dodo Juice.....? Not sure I can see it.
