  4. Abbey have experience with the Vortech kit. Try searching for posts by StephenG who is running one. Stillen comes with a hideous bonnet bulge for clearance IIRC but Middlehursts in St Helens will install for you.
  5. They look spot on. Agree with the others re spacers though.
  6. One of my favourite cars and exhaust notes!
  7. No changer and tend to listen to my ipod but I've got Kingdom of Rust by Doves in the CD player.
  8. Just resurrecting an old thread in case anyone has any more views on this. Just picked up my first points in 20 years driving after being zapped by an unmarked car. Completely my fault so no moaning from me. I'm not expecting that a detector would have saved me on this occasion but as I'm now quarter of the way to a ban I thought I'd better get something to warn me of potential "cash machines". Any further recommendations? Not really bothered about laser for the reasons above.
  9. Putting that aside, that GT-R is in some rarefied company at the top. I still struggle to get my head around the performance from that thing given its power to weight ratio. Has anyone ever seen a dyno on one? Oh and the Stig must have been Helen Mirren on the day they did that Gallardo! (or it could have been raining )
  10. I think perhaps as technology moves on, cars perhaps more about the visuality and less about the driving experience. For those of you that have been in or driven a 240/260/280z/x will understand what I mean. I think you're bang on with this, Immy. I've driven a few so called Zed rivals over the last month or so and what struck me is that they were very fast, very refined but lacked character. The lack of refinement in a 350Z - the tingle through the gearshift, the noise, the firm ride - meant that even when I wasn't pressing on I felt I was in a sports car and that was a big part of what made every trip, however mundane, an event. The meaty control weights which were lightened up on MY06/07 cars also added to the impression - not so heavy as to be a problem but clearly not designed for town driving. Ultimately sports cars will become faster, grippier, better built and more refined but more characterful? Perhaps not.
  11. I have some 15mm Eibachs. PM me if interested.
  12. Good to see it taking shape.
  13. Whilst the intention appears laudable, with respect you are only one person on the committee. I would like to see this suggestion backed by Giles et al before I took it as genuine. You will forgive my cynicism but 2 years ago, before I was a mod and when I was a regular poster on the OC, I put myself in the frame to try and organise a joint meet. I has some discussions with my opposite number at the OC and was told that it would only happen if we agreed it was an OC meet, there was no mention made of this site, no banners etc - effectively an OC meet with us being kindly allowed to attend as long as we kept quiet. Our URL has been banned on the OC for almost 4 years, open threads such as this discussing both clubs have been heavily censored to try and deny our existence and members of our team have been banned for spurious reasons. We have thrown our non-show meets open to OC members (our meets have always been open to all) but have had to be careful not to mention this place - see Stew's Hoon thread. I accept that you are a relative newcomer and do not want to get involved in the politics but until I hear some concilatory noises from the NS committee as a whole, maybe a lifing of the ban on our URL and team members, I can't accept that you are anything but a lone voice. I would stress that these are my views based upon personal experience of trying to bring the clubs closer together and not the views of the team.
  14. I think we would have been accused of back-door censorship if we had. We prefer things to be open on this site.
  15. Can't go wrong with the NISMO!
  16. Thanks Steve. Oh and Dan, are you going to invite us to your rolling road day?
