Thanks for clarifying this. Personally I've always felt the Zed is a bit heavy for what it is and it's dissapointing to see the weight going up. My Bimmer is lighter than an M6 at 1715kg so only 92 kg heavier than a GT MY07, i.e. only 6% heavier and it's considerably bigger.

Just checked Nissan wedsite out of curiosity. An MY05 weighs 1534 kg unladen for a coupe and 1647 kg for a roadster.

Wrong way round mate. The M6 is lighter. Why do you think they charge £82k for one. The 6 series uses many weight saving devices such as alloy bonnet, plastic wings and boot, full alloy doors, full alloy suspnsion and sub frames plus the M6 has a carbon fibre roof which the M5 doesn't have. My car weighs only 10 % more than a Zed... And thats a MY05. Apparently an MY06 Zed is even heavier at 1600 + kg....

You know what, since my daughter bought the Cabrio Beetle it's done nothing but rain most weekends. Anyway, seats are back from the re-trim and look absolutely fantastic, so will be fitted tomorrow togther with new door cards. Let's hope we can drive it with the top down...

Not sure why, but I hate the standard wheels. I think I like bright cars with dark rims and dark cars with bright rims, I like them to contrast Me too, I had black on UY. You could have had the rims re-painted...

The youngsters will never understand that reference! My dad had one. The steering wheel was square... What a horrible car to drive. Rediculous torque steer meant a fight with the square steering wheel. The worse thing was the gear lever travelled much further than originally designed to the point that you hit your knuckles on the dash. In fact the dash was damaged from hitting it when selecting first.... Thank god for progress. The Allegro one of the reasons we have no car industry left.... Nothing wrong with Bridgestones IMHO. They are are high mileage hard tyre so not the best for grip. I expect my MPS will wear much quicker on the other hand. I do agree that it's a good idea to get an oppinion on the tires you are considering, but preferably on the car in question. My personal experience is that Toyo Proxes offer a good balance of price performance, I've got them on the Cossie and had them on a Scooby. Never experienced Falkens so can't comment.

I've gone from Bridgestones to Michelin Pilot Sport's on the Bimmer and they are in another league for grip both wet and dry..

I was going to say I saw 3 Gallardo's at Graypauls, Nottingham last night, but sounds too late. 2 blacks and a silver so too dull for you... I must say the Gallardo in the flesh looks so fresh and new compared to a 430, (Graypauls are a Maserati / Ferrari dealer so have loads. The new Maserati Gran Turismo is soo...... BTW. Can't believe you sold an R34 for a Z33. Will cost you buckets loads to get the easy power gains possible with the R34 engine. Some have even installed the R34 into a Z33, in fact I believe there's one on the Japan Drift Scene.

Signal Failure at West Hampstead would you believe. All trains out of St Pancras were cancelled. They don't have the concept of backup systems. If this was an air traffic control system planes would have crashed..

But selling more cars than Nissan and making a profit.... Frankly that's because so many people are prepared to buy any old tat as long as it has a prestige badge. In the last 2 weeks Autocar have put a new Mondeo and a Nissan Skyline G35 up against the 3 series and both times the non-prestige competitor was as good if not better than the Bee Emm. Will 3 series drivers buy them or even consider them - not likely! Prestige badges are like the emperors new clothes, particularly in their entry level ranges. I don't think my car is old tat. I've driven many £60k+ cars and mine feels, drives and is built as good as any of them. I think you lot have some kind of BMW complex....
