  1. nice sequential gearbox too of course! Missed that...
  2. In the individuals at one stage it was 10 v's 4 to inside wins so there was definately something. They commented on this on Sky and said it was the same for the team event. We then anaylsed it to death and came up with the view that since the outside was the faster route, i.e. a fast sweeping bend, traction off the line was more important on that route, than the inside track. BTW did anyone pick up that the Solution F Cars had a 350z engine..
  3. I've been to Donnington a few times and they have neer done a static test, which is a good as they would never let me on if they did.
  4. You 350z pensioners can be so boring sometimes....
  5. You right inside was quicker ! Shue changed cars as he had the red one 1st & IMO was only fair to swop to yellow as the red one just had a big off into sand on previous race & seemed slower after. IMO though Ekstrom won, Shumacher was the best driver there, he made lap after lap look so effortless & easy, consistently beating lap record, race after race, in every type of car. Imo he was a class above all others there, & I dont even like him! (changed my mind now though!)) Apart from Senna I think he is one of the greatest drivers Admittied Schuey is a legend but: - 1. He got to the final wihtout having to race the slower outside track, whereas Ekstrom beat Praiulx in the semis running from the outside. 2. He was the only one to get overtaken, (the team event). 3. They said Ekstrom got the lap record on Sky not Schuey. IMHO he was outclassed by Ekstrom and the best man won on the night..
  6. Take no notice of the boring ones. You like it you go for it. As you say you can always remove them...
  7. Go for it... I fancy some 255 Cup style stripes..
  8. get ur ass in gear and fix the cossie we can always do another later in the year. Been on it today. How about that... Good man! Does it have a passenger seat? Of course, and a back seat... Did I also mention I have a clutch problem. Modified cars....nightmare...
  9. get ur ass in gear and fix the cossie we can always do another later in the year. Been on it today. How about that...
  10. What about March. Might be better weather. My vote with those dates would be Feb 17th
  11. You can book Donny direct at http://www.donington-park.co.uk/trakzone/ They also have 3rd Feb. I'd prefer Donny and unsilenced but can't afford the time off, so would have to be a weekend event. Also, at this stage I can only say I will do my best to get the car ready. It'll give me somethign to aim for though..
  12. Donny is OK with me. I've worked out how to get past the sound check, simplyy ease off the throtle or change up. TBH Donny is preferable as I have this diff issue and if it packs up I can tow the car back. Also, Oulton can be very dangerous when damp/wet. As for my car, I've got some work though to get the car ready first. I need 2 front wheel bearings fitting and an MOT, plus an oil change and new plugs etc. I started her up today and managd to get her running sweet. I've had a mis fire the last 2 times I started her, and managed to track it down today as a dodgy plug. Fitted some old spares and it was then as sweet as a nut..
  13. Did anyone else realise that the inside track was way quicker. I reckon at least 0.5 secs. I counted 10 v's 4 wins to an inside start at one stage and of the 4 outside wins, 2 were due to a crash and an off. Also, Schuey managed to get to the final never having raced from the outside, so shouldn't have even been in the final IMHO. Also, what was all this switching cars at the last run. Very suspicious I know they can't make it completely fair, but why didn't they ensure that drivers had to start from both sides. Ekstrom got himself in the final by winning from the outside too. Glad I didn't go now as it really wound me up. At least justice was done in the end. Even though Schuey got 2 of the 3 starts from the inside, Ekstrom out classed Schuey....
  14. Now For Sale.... http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/317044.htm
  15. That's one from the past. This was from the days of the the Lotus engines, all Toyota nowadays...
  16. Hard luck mate. We've had a similar thing happen to my daugters car. What is it with old women drivers reversing without looking. At least it wasn't some kid playing...
  17. See http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsp ... 144078.stm
  18. Oulton Park can be a bit dangerous. Not done it myself but heard of a few offs. I'd be happy to give it a go.
  19. Cool! Com-mon Kev I'm rubbish, just got a fast car... I need to to a test day to see if the diff settles in. I had it rebuilt before te last track day and it's now got a clutch judder type of thing going on whenever you turn. I'm hoping some use will bed the plates in. Also need to get it taxed and MOT'd.
  20. I'b be up for Doninton in the new year. The Cossie has some diff issues so can't risk going to far. I'm hoping some hard driving will bed the plates in. As for noise, my Cossie gives a static test of 105 Db's and Donington don't normally do static tests. The main sound sensor on te track is on the main straight and I've been black flagged on numerous occasions at 104 Db's or there abouts, so have learnt to just lifting off when going past. I can get through doing this then quite easily normall.
  21. Thickness won't necessarily affect hardness though. The water based paints are inerrently soft. What it may improve is adhesion, so each chip maybe smaller. After market 2 pack Isocyanates will always be harder than any manufacturers crap water based, even Lambo.
  22. I may do one next year in the Exige... You're probably aware of this Kev, but Lotus do their own sessions at Hethel. A mate of mine did it recently and was very impressed with the day. I didn't realise they did track days. I knew about the factory open days though. Any idea how much? I'd be up for a mixed Walshy Day. He does 4 car groups for £190. I'm thinking March time? PS: Steve go on post some BMW pictures and get some stick.... I think it was around £800 but It's a 2 day event and includes a factory tour and a full day on the test track using their cars. My mate arranged it through his local dealer. £800...wow but I guess that's not bad considering using their cars and 2 days. Think I'd prefer a Walshy Day and do want to learn the limits of my car. In fact would like to do it in the Exige and Cossie, although I'm pretty familiar with the Cossie.
