  1. maybe i need to give it some time to settle down. just fancy a little more burble. just wonder if the Cats will do it, what are peoples thoughts on the kinetix cats. i'm tempted by the joint over on cats and plenum as i fancy the plenum at some point.
  2. kinetix are doing an offer at the moment for their sports cats and plenum for about $599 which works out to about £366. wondering if its worth going down that route? i must admit i thought that the true dual would have been louder as it allows better flow.
  3. Here are the pics of the system fitted Must admit its a lot quieter than i was expecting. sounds similar to stock just a little deeper, what i find a tad confusing is that i remember watching youtube vids of them, and on the vids they popple and backfire when you lift off from high revs, but this doesn't seem to. is it something that will come with time as it beds in more. or am i missing something that these others had. on my old car i had an H&S twin exit, and by its self it was ok, but when i had a TRD header fitted it brought the system to life. a the moment i have this exhaust and a typhoon air intake. do i need to add something like sports cats for more noise? i don't want decats as they always seem raspy to me.
  4. its ready now, was at 2.20, but my last lesson had started and i can't get out till 3.45. damn those 100 minute lessons. still got them here doing design ideas. i'll be the first out the door.
  5. i bought OEM aftermarket parts before, but i normally buy 2nd hand crash damamge stuff cheap and rebuild it, so i know exactly how much work is involved in it. i currently have a nismo copy in the garage which needs work, but it was previously fitted so all the work has been done. all i have to do is repair all the damamge and flush the badge, and change a few bits.
  6. its being fitted today, will post up pics when its on. maybe a video as well if i get round to it. they gave me a courtesy car so i could go to work while they did it the fitting, i have the pleasure of driving a Cherolet .............. matiz. its quite a funny car, the pedals are so close together that with my big shoe son i can heel and toe without even trying. changing gear is like making the throws with a broom handle as the stick is so long. i hadn't realised how used to my own car i had got. will be glad to give it back this afternoon. but at the end of the day it does the job and means i can go to work, so i can't complain. especially as they seem to be one of the few places in the area who have the facilities not only to TIG weld but to do the fitting at the same time. have found several places who can weld, but not fit it and weld it as they are all engineering companies. today is going so slowly, hope they finish by lunch so i can go pick it up early.
  7. good body shops are worth their weight in gold. and generally i find they don't tend to advertise that well either. most go on word of mouth. is it worth us building a thread page of bodyshops around the country that do a good job with contact details and a pic of their work. make it a sticky or something so that 9i nthe future we have a directory of good places to go. could always make a matching one with places to avoid as well with pics of the devastation.
  8. i have some in the garage. was wondering if i could just seal it in a bag when i fit it or something?
  9. .........News Flash Update............... drivers side has gone out again, but i've found the problem, ............. water when they last stopped working it had rain then as well. looks like i'll have to replace both. does anyone know if its possible to but some kind of water barrier or seal around the ballast to stop water getting at it?
  10. i've got the invidia g200 which is being fitted on wednesday, from what i've been told it gives a nice deep growl. will let you know how i get on with it. its a true dual system as well.
  11. should be repaired easily, they'll rebuild up the lip and spray it in to match.
  12. just been on the phone to the dealership i bought from, they have been really good, but only sell cars with what ever warranty is left by the original manufacturer. looks like i'm left to fix this myself. will have to save up and go visit ZmanAlex for the right part. and then go see my friend with the pit to see if he'll help me fit it all.
  13. just had my final answer from nissan GB they are flatly refusing to do the work or even meet half way with this and that i have to take the issue up with the dealership i bought from. i'm not a loyal customer therefore i don't get any good will work. i told them i'm due my first service since owning the car and whats the incentive to become a loyal nissan customer, and they didn't seem to give a toss. i am going to write to there monitoring body as i believe its an issue from factory manufacture, not from wear and tear. other cars have had recalls for less. yet nissan are happy to let people pay for it themselves.
  14. fell out of warranty in april. hence the arse ache i'm going through with nissan GB to sort the clicking rear axle. as for fitting the typhoon system, all wiring was intact.
  15. i've moved the points they mount on to at the front of the engine bay. there were 2 points that that i used which already had earthing cables from other areas connected to. i've moved off them and it seems to be better. i'm going to leave it a week and see if the porblem re appears. either way i'll still need one ballast and igniter as the passenger side is still dead.
  16. the chillis can help you out but they about £60 or have a search in the group buys as i have some one making up a likwid art version but there is a time delay. should be between £25-£35
  17. interesting twist tonight, went out for a drive and the drivers side dipped is working again. maybe the moving of grounding kit points and time to mull it over has corrected the problem, which should mean i need just one ballast and igniter now. i'll still order 2 i think but i know stew wanted the other so we'll go halfs. have contacted a breakers database online and asked for quotes on the parts so will hopefully get them in the UK. there are loads on ebay but they're all in the USA. so it makes it expensive once you add on postage.
  18. i'm generally quite good at not getting het up about things, and am used to dealing with negative thoughts, have been told many a time i'll never pass, or you'll never get on that course, and each time its been my sole aim to prove them wrong. it kind of motivates me to stick 2 fingers up at people who tell me i can't. must admit i hadn't seen my last post as bigotted, but then thats my perseption i suppose. i have lots of friends, who are from all over the place, i've nearly been married to a carribean girl, and have never seen myself as racist or bigotted. lived in coventry for a while and had some good jobs, some of them where i was the minority, but i always had a laugh and had respect for my colleagues. i don't care who i work with as long as their here legally. and paying their way like me. we need a real shake up at parlimentary level one of our biggest problems is that governments in the UK are only motivated by short term goals. they only put forweard policys which win elections, or last for 4-5 years. no one has the guts to put some long term things in place and say, "hey this is going to be rough for a while but in 15 years time we're going to have the best imiggration/trnasport network/health care system/ education system in europe. what we have at the moment is a load of areas which get meddled and tweaked in by each new party who come to power. as an example there was a report done (can't remember the name off hand) on the education system and the current GCSE's it said the system was in decay and put forward a radical scheme to basically restart the education system. it had the backing of the majority of head teachers and unions, but tony blair chickened out as it was to close to an election and didn't want to rock the boat. so instead brought in this half arsed approach which is the new 14-19 curriculum. and its a bloody joke. i won't even bother going into the details of why its so crap (unless people want me to) but basically its creating a load of work, which in porbably 10 years time it will get scrapped and all the stupid hours i am putting in now as are alot of other teachers will be for nothing. education needs to be run by the teachers, decisions should only be made by people who still work in the classroom so you can only do a 2 year stint in whitehall before you go back to the classroom to keep current. we need to remove the large quantites of quangos/think tanks and beauracracy. apparantly in hospitals there is a 3:1 ratio thats 3 managers/consultants to every 1 doctor/nurse. is it me or should it not be the other way round. in every facet of the UK there seems to be too many chiefs and not enough indians.
  19. looks really good mate. if you want any other Tommy K stuff from the likwid art stuff let me know.
  20. just checked all the grounding kit earthing points, and have moved any which shared an original earthing point and it has made no difference. looks like i'm going to have to source some new ballasts and ignitors.
  21. Thanks Ming. Sorry if my reply was a little angry last night but I was a tad miffed. I couldn't work out what spelling and gramma had to do with the validity of my post. It made me feel second class; that because I struggle to write things makes my point less valid. I know that's not what prescience was trying to do and everyone is entitled to a view. Prescience sorry I went off the deep end. Hope I have 't put you off posting again. Special as your a fairly new member.
  22. i wouldn't go back there then if i was you unless you bring your own consumables
  23. what about " MEEP MEEP" like the road runner
  24. If you put it that way, we are all "biggots" in one way or the other. All shapes and sizes my friend... I'm just shocked and not only by the illiteracy of a university lecturer. Still, if it's just me... firstly i'm not a university lecturer, i'm a secondary school teacher, my subject background is technology specifically resistant materials, i teach kids carpentry, metal work, electronics, graphics, CAD and CAM. i have 10 years experience in industry and can rebuild you anything from a house to a car, i used to make furniture and fit aicon systems. i have 10 gcse's 4 B's 3 C's and 3 D's i got 3 a levels and a 2:1 BSc in engineering Design and Technology if it helps at my previous school my GCSE pass rate was 95%, i've just changed schools and in my first year i look to change the current pass rate from 55% to 70% and predictions for next year are 87%. you may ask why i'm telling you this well i'm dsylexic, reading and writing are a real struggle for me, yes my writing spelling and grammer are poor i know that, even my students know that. if i was an english teacher i'd be crap but i'm not and even with my difficulties i still get higher a-c grades than most compulsory subjects. and its not because i get all the good kids, on the contrary i tend to get all the weak students as people think its an easy subject and they just have to bang nails into wood, but few people know i have to get them to complete a 30 page A3 document to supplement their practical. and i've done all this through hard work, deternmination and sheer stubbornness (with out that i would have fallen by the wayside years ago) i may have written a slightly biggoted view, but its what i've seen, i have no problem with people who have legitimate reasons to be here, or who have the paper work to come here, you can be black, white, pink yellow, purple or have ornage spots i dno't give a monkeys. but i expect them to; like me; to pull their weight, and pay their taxes, then like me they are free to claim benefits if they need to, have medical care, vote and even complain about the government. but if your only reason to come here is to spounge off me well bog off home i don't want you here. but you have sterotyped me, judged me and condemned me just on what you thought (wrongly or rightly) a university lecturer should and could do. does that not make you a prejudice. I'm not bothered what you think of me, i've taught prbably 10,000 kids now some of whom possibly owe me the only C grade they ever got at school who probably have a better opinion of me than you do (and to be honest they're the ones i'm bothered about) if it helps i'll alter my signiture for you to give people a warning. VVVVV
