  1. just came back from a day trip to france with the school. as we were coming into calais the cutoms guys were working big time, anything bigger than a moped was being searched, and not for dodgy stuff, but dodgy people. i could have brought back 3 tons of weed, and i doubt immigration would have worried. (the school might have). apparently coaches were a new target for immigrants as they had found that they could crawl under the rear wheels and there was a small space to stand on the rear axle. every coach was getting the full treatment. apparently our coach drivers had found 1 earlier in the day on another coach. what annoys me is that they are claiming for asylum, but they don't stop in the first country they get to a claim it. some travel through 4 or 5 countries to get here. and each one of those countries does nothing to stop them. the french are the worst. they don't bother arresting them while they are there and sending them back. we watched loads of them crossing the motor way heading towards the terminal after being to the soup kitchen. if our welfare sate was less attractive we wouldn't be a target. as the title explains our welfare state is "well fair" i may not be the biggest earner on this site which means i haven't paid as much tax as them and don't envy them being shafted with the 40% stick. but i see about £700 of my money goes to Gordon, yet i don't see a valid return on my investment. (thats what we do we invest in our country and support it) we have a road network which is in poor repair and over loaded, we have a public transport network which is in bad repair, doesn't run on time and costs more than owning a car in some circumstances (price up a ticket on the train from london to edinburgh) we have a health care service which is crippled. ... my £700 is possibly paying for 7 people to stay at home that month while i work my 50 60 hour week. my brother has not payed tax properly yet, he's still a student... and when i griped about it before he tells me we should be grateful that we have the system we have. places like third world countries don't have any of it. but as far as i concerned they're not paying for not having it either. is that a bad view to have. ming for PM - get the scrotes back to work, earn their £100 a week and remember imigration is not a bad thing, its our countries life blood always has been, half the stuff we have is down to immigration, a large majority of our population is made up of immigrants. i'm one (mother is australian) the irish who built a large porttion of our road network, the Caribbean's who came over in the 50's but it has to be by the book. people who are legitimatly working here who contribute to society, pay their taxes are great. if they don't then send them home.
  2. Cheers R35LEE, i think it all started after the grounding kit went in, so my first test is going to be to take off a couple of the leads near the headlights and the retest to see if they come on and stay on. as for the arch liners, they are in perfect nick. the back of the HIDS when i cahnged the buls had a bit of dirt on them but i don't think they are leaking. me and BM checked out the wiring a while back and couldn't find any damage. i might need to source a good auto electrician, but i don't know any in the suffolk area R35LEE whats your location. and thanks fo rthe offer, i might take you up on it if i strike a dead end.
  3. The saga continues. 3 months ago: my horn would go off when i turned my lights on to dipped beam. as soo as it was turned off it was fine. 2 months ago: drivers side stopped working completely 1 week ago: replaced all bulbs, passenger side still not working, think it mught be the ballast and ignitor. today: got back tonight from a french trip. turned on head lights passenger light comes on for about 1.5 sec - 2 sec and then turns its self off. if you turn the lights fully back off and then on it repeats the process. so ihad to drive home with no headlights. am stumped as to whats causing it. think that all isusues are all linked. don't want to go and spend £100 for new ballast qnd ignitors if its omething else.
  4. for the money your better off getting a custom exhaust built to your own standard, tip design, sound, volume, noise, tone etc. and still have money left over to by 4 new tyres. they are great exhausts, but with current exchange rate and prices i'm not 100% sure they are worth the price tag, especially as i've read on here of several flexi joints going on them. not what i'd expect of a £1300 exhaust.
  5. for around £515 you could have Vredestein ultrac Ssanta. meant to be a far better tyre is a proper UHP tyre where as the 452's are just a midrange tyre.
  6. if you push where the hole is it should pop the black disk out and on the back of there should be your locating pins for the zed. i am hypothosising as i've never done it.
  7. i bet if you have a look at the badge you should be able to see that the Zed is possibly on 2 pins with a bit of glue on the back, you should be able to scrape it away and take the zed off. then lay your vinyl and then glue the zed back on. i don't know for certain if the zed comes off, but most of the other badges come in sections.
  8. post on the other thread, keeps all the info in one place when others search for it
  9. it may be on stocks but it doesn't mean that the last person put the right tyres on. if you have the 18 inch rays you should be on 245 45 18 rear and 225 45 18 front. also what tyres you running, if they're cheap crap it might be the problem. if everything is stock make sure tyre pressure is at 35 psi all round, as that might be the issue.
  10. search for smelly vents
  11. i might well do that, at the moment it looks like its just me and muddy. tent for 2 anyone?
  12. i'm guessing there is no 350z-uk.com club stand. are there others to join, my guess is that most nissans and datsuns won't be there because of zedfest not just this club?
  13. whats happening with this, i know it clashes with zedfest or something, but was wondering if anyone was going to this from our club, i have friends in other clubs, but haven't heard hair nor hide from here about it. i'm guessing that the club with no name will be flying the zed flag for us. i may end up going i don't know yet. but i might be on the mr2 club stand.
  14. i can see why he's done it, but i don't like it. he wants ot be different. but he has created a fugly car.
  15. my wife said there is a sunset convertible for sale near me apparently (according to my Wife) don't know price as i haven't seen it and the wife said it was written to small to see when she went past. will try and find out for you.
  16. Bullshit.........an eye for an eye............you hit me, I hit you.........simples And if they pull a knife which is highly possible???? I never react to people when I'm driving as I feel it won't get me anywhere. They cut you up, ok, it pisses you off but everyone makes mistakes and what do you gain from shouting and searing at them? If people are being dangerous then I usually stay well away as they are unpredictable. If you really don't like it then call the police and report them. Chances are it will be added to their file. They might get a word in their ear..... agreed, i would never go looking for or instigate it, i'll happily drive on and ignore it. if i've been sworn at while driving, my usual trick when over taking them later is to wave at them with areally big smile on my face, which can be really funny as you can watch them bouncing around in the drivers seat going mental. i don't tend to swear at anybody. i don't provoke another stupid driver by driving aggressivly. but as said before assault is done at your own risk. same as if it was my own home.
  17. close but no cigar this is me most people can't believe my weight, when i was going into the navy the bloke in recruitment weighed me 4 times and he didn't beleive his own machine, was only till he looked at me and i said "their not lying i do weigh that much" i hide it well. although i think its my big rugby prop legs and arms that carry alot of it. and no not my fat head.
  18. i'm 17 stone but only 5'9" i look like a chunky jason stratham with a short cut beard
  19. i do a similar thing, but i also keep a breaking bar down the side of the drivers seat. i'd never hit anyone in the head with it, but i'd sure as hell make sure they wouldn't be running off before the police get there (and yes i know about reasonable force, thats why i won't be repeatedly kicking them or hitting them once they've gone down.) i used to be a door man in coventry and my size tends to be a big enough deterant as does the shaved head and beard. i am very placid by the way,it takes a lot to get me wrlyed and i learnt a long time ago to be defenseive not offensive.
  20. am not bothered about mpg, i just can't work out how they seem to sell this stuff, all of them mention that if you don't see a difference then they'll refund the difference. i can't see how they make any money.
  21. have just provisionally booked on as well 14 places left
  22. it got me thinking last night as i was browsing for other random crap. there is also a metal fan thing called a tornado that you fit in your air intake which is supposed to create a vortex in the air and improve fuel consumption. i was wondering if you fitted all of these random crap inventions to your car, with each one claiming to improve it by 5%-10% fuel. with just these 3 items fitted we could improve our fuel consuption by 30% does that mean we could have the first 350z able to do 45 mpg.
  23. will have to watch this at lunch, got full timetable this morning
  24. I'm sure the SEAT lads used these on SEATcupra.net and said they did have some effect. Not sure it was where the designers intended you to use them, but they used them as a breather somewhere and it did improve the engine response apparently. The only reason I didnt fit one was because you had to chop up a breather pipe. Someone like Ian might remember more than me thats exactly where you put them in the breather to the crank case if i remember rightly, am going back a few years now.
