  1. its very true, i told him not to write it, but he wouldn't listen, to be honest he's getting a bit clingy at the moment.
  2. had offers from all over the place, would love to have stopped at everyones, but will defo catch up next time i'm in the north east
  3. i liked my push button on the S2000, but i just wished it had been an insert credit card style key then press button, instead of a turn key then press button.
  4. i thought i wouldn't like the dash as well but its really grown on me. mine doesnt photo well, but its not like the full on bur wood finish like alot of the others, looks more like seal skin bit random i know but it looks really nice. i was also worried that the dash would all light up in a horrible ford green colour, but i was really chuffed when driving at night it turned out to be this lovely turquoise colour. and now im in love with the dash it really is a car to be seen in the flesh. in alot of the photos i looked at i was a bit unsure, but in the flesh its so much better. i might be coming to lakez so people can get a better look there.
  5. i love the way it looks its the only older car i like, things like the GTO's supras 300zx etc don't look as nice. i've always loved them and for me its a bit of a dream car, same as the R34 is for Ian. for me the XKR is the british version of the supra, and i fancied stepping away from the jap scene for a bit and wanted to scratch the V8 itch i had. i know its an aquired taste, but in sports mode when the supercharger kicks in you cant' help but love it.
  6. Looks like it needs roadtax first? i got there and he hadn't put it on, being it was over a sunday and a bank holiday i didn't have a lot of choice really. but yes its the first thing on my list of to do's
  7. there is a whole load of money that can be spent on the jag
  8. i must admit the one thing i;ve been really impressed with is the level of thought thats gone into the design of the car; they thought of everything, and it all makes sense, the manuals even talk about stuff that we tell people on the forum that the manuals on other manufactuers don't say. taking into account my model was built when Ford were in charge, the build quality is pretty good. i know there are niggles and things i need to fix and sort, but in some way i wanted that, i missed having a car to dismantle and problem solve. i ve got some rust to remove, and i'm going to improve my welding skills etc. i see this very much as a restoration project, there will be some modding in the performance area and in the noise area, but at the moment my primary goal is to make sure it runs its best. i've got an engine flush to look forward to; which i'm actually excited about doing and looking forward to. i'm going to check and clean all the injectors, lots of other little things that i can work though etc
  9. only really done the long cruise at the moment but i really liked the auto box, it isn't a paddle shift but there is a mod to retro fit paddle shifts to the steering column. the box is good. in normal mode its very smooth, stamp down and it automatically shifts down etc, stick it in sports mode and it holds the gears for longer and opens up the engine fully etc. with my bad knee i didn't miss the clutch pedal one bit when we got stuck in traffic. and as its an older box there is no auto button to press to swap between settings the stick just glides between settings.
  10. i did think this was going ot be my last chance at a V8 before petrol spiral s out of control, but it does mean i can also look at LPG conversion later on if i want a long term project car
  11. the survey above was a customer satisfaction survey of current owners, so no pre preppared cars used i was trying to find where ferrari came in it but all i could find were topics about them catching fire for no reason at all. http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/11071047 http://www.fquick.com/videos/Ferrari_F430_on_Fire/3153
  12. chesterfield did you know that jag was third in the best manufacturers satisfaction test. lexus were first honda 2nd
  13. husky is on his way home at the moment i'm sure pics will be up by 5
  14. whos owned by VW, as far as i am aware Jaguar land rover are owned by TATA the indian automotive company.
  15. admiral were going to charge me until i told them that they were replacement parts and made no performance gains, then they didn't charge me anything.
  16. done sports cars great fun, but this is a whole new bundle of fun, might not be as lights as the S2000 in the twisties, but when in sports mode the point and squirt on it is fantastic. managed 27 mpg on the way back and the fact that i no longer have to use 98 ron fuel its like getting 10 p a litre off, so its costing me about the same to fill up as the s2k, yet on a long cruise i get more miles. of course if i boot it every where then yes the fuel evaporates. but what else would you expect form a 4.0litre v8 with a super charger
  17. best exhaust for the money tannabe hands down speak to tarmac he can supply them
  18. its peeing down at the moment but husky took a load yesterday and when he gets home he'll upload them on to here.
  19. was good seeing your beastie as well, she is stunning, i cant wait to see it revealed properly
  20. already got a flat cap and my shotgun got sold with my grandparents farm when they retired
  21. Well as some of you maybe aware i sold my S2000 on wednesday, and have been car-less for 3 days and its not felt good. so on saturday evening i left at midnight to go and pick up husky and then head on up to bonnine scotland. i got to Husky's at 2.30 am and we left his at 3.30 am, sharing the driving we drove though the night to edinburgh only stopping just over the border for my first ever tottie scone and square sausage. and we made edinburgh garage for 9.45 am. the drive up was great we had a top spec volvo XC70 and it was like driving an armchair. so comfy and easy to sleep in, photos on facebook show proof of that. lol. checked the car out and decided it was good and drove it back yesterday after staying at husky's folks. big thanks to husky and his family for putting me up and feeding me. i'll get john to put up pictures later as he was the official road trip photographer. <<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>> well as some of you may have guessed i have bought.............................. a jag in particular an XKR its a supercharged V8 beastie its a 2000 plate and the mileage is average for its age but the engine looks in very good condition. a few bits need some TLC but i wanted a project car; bit like a steppign stone into classic cars. - its metallic black (needs a lot of attention with amachin polisher, but its something i'm looking forward to) - has the rare 2 piece 20" BBS Detroit alloys in a light champagne gold - Brembo upgrade - satnav (although 10 years old still does a good job, but is earmarked for modding ) - cream leather interior - and every gadget under the sun and some husky and i had never seen before. Gadgets we've found on our 1000 mile round trip - i knew the car would have cruise control, but this one has the later adaptive CC which senses cars infront and adjusts its speed to maintain a gap (well chuffed it has it made the trip down a doddle) - auto tinting wing mirrors that at night time tint to reduce glare form cars behind. - electric adjustable steering wheel that raises when you take the key out to let you out, - electric adjustable seats and mirrors - a memory function that sets the seats, mirrors, and steering wheel all at the smae time to your preset. - auto everything, lights wipers etc etc. - a button labelled sport ( makes the car insane ) should be labelled SHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTT!!!!!!!! to say i'm chuffed is an understatement, i have been beeming form ear to ear all the way down. i'll get john to add the proper photos from his decent camera up fro people to see.
