  1. From memory the ones that went pop, had issues with the system not self lubricating. It could be bad choice of system or system failure. But they do require more maintenance and tweaking than you think. The units need servicing by a specialist, on top of your usual car service. Once fitted they sometimes need tweaking a few times till try run sweet. Best to go for something like a prinz system and one that has built in self lubrication. But even then you need to check the oil regularly on the system to make sure its working. Works best on big engines as they rev less and are built to stronger. Lots do it to V8 s as they seem to take it well.

Cars on LPG lose about 10-20% of their performance and their mpg drops about the same amount. If your drive to work is less than 10 miles then the system is ineffective as the engine has to reach a certain temperature before it starts using the gas. And its even longer on winter mornings. So if your daily drive is short it will still only burn petrol and then switch over for the last part to gas.

Cost of fitting means that you need to be driving around 20k a year for 2 years to make back the cost of fitting. So if you drive only 10k a year its more like 4 years before you start saving money.

LPG is good, but only for the right mind of person, generally high mileage drivers

  2. I recently bought one of these to replace two cheapo HP (half the price and half as good) printers which died.

    http://www.printerland.co.uk/Canon-Pixma-MG7150-P132832.aspx

Does AirPrint, can plug into Ethernet to network printing, edge to edge printing for photos, quality is good and print speed is too, piano black finish is sexy :)

Negatives, it's a noisey little thing. Takes a while to warm up from cold (best to leave it on if you print a lot).

Best domestic printer I've owned, and I've owned over three

we have the exact same printer, have tried several, last one was Kodak. Ink was cheap but used 5 times as much. Epson used to clog and smear. Hp had wireless connection issues.

The canon mg7150 has to date been our best printer.

  3. a very easy and cheap mod is to lighten the car before you go on track. some strip things like the spare wheel and some trim. others are more extreme and remove anything non essential.

zeds biggest issue as a track car is she is a fat girl. she's a great GT car, but a fat track car.

  4. any place with 4 wheel laser alignment can reset your car back to original settings. worth riging round some body shops as they sometimes use them to reset cars after accidents.

search yell.com in your area for 4 wheel laser wheel alignment should produce some results.

  5. You could spend £3k on stuff to make it go faster and then remap it and make 20bhp if you're lucky, or spend £1.5k more and SC the car.

But as ekona has pointed out, the mods you really need to do are not power but handling.

  6. Not a lot in it really, surprised bobody has mentioned how butt ugly the xBone is, a real black plastic breezeblock!

Anyway the cool kids have PS4 :teeth:

the PS4 isn't going to win any beauty competitions either.

I quiet like the way my Xbox looks on my TV stand, its very low profile, almost invisible,

  7. Interested in this too... something that has been concerning me for a while.

same here, been waiting for them to come down in price a bit. My car isn't fast but having been at the front of a 6 car pile up, even though I was faultless it still took nearly a year to settle. The video footage would have speeded the whole process up hugely
  8. Whenever I attended accidents involving Saxo's there was always a good chance of a fatality or serious injury. I've also seen a Volvo crash through a wooded area and all occupants x5 walk away from it.

I've just bought an XC90, Mainly for the boot space and ease of access for putting 2 babies in when on your own. But the sameness of the vehicle for the kid is an added bonus. Downside is pedestrians are screwed with only 1 star in NCAP for pedestrians tests.
  9. 4 stars isn't that bad, I'd get in it. Considering my mum had 1 metro, which is what the rover 100 was and a rover 100 which I wrote off at 18 and that got 1 star, and I drove it like a Nutter and I'm still walking.

4 or 5 star is adequate for me.

  10. From memory it cost me £120

Edit: Just to clarify that's a pretty expensive gear knob. :scare::lol: Very nice though. ;)

back in the day there were very few cheap parts, if you nodded you only bought post brands as they were the only ones around.
