  1. I had my wheels done recently in black chrome, its a black base coat and a chrome top coat, changes colour in the light, under bright light it can look grey to silver, chromey, in other lights black, or anthracite in lower light.

where are you located? I had them done at Aerocoat

    http://www.aerocoat.co.uk/

great service and very pleased, but they may not be local

  2. I'd buy into that argument if I believed savings will go on the NHS (amongst other things) rather than a cut in corporation tax.

Also, politicians in Brussels are elected. That's just a flat out lie.

I agree, i might vote out, but i still don't believe they'll spend the money wisely. governments are past masters at wasting cash

our biggest issue politically is no one has a long term view that extends beyond 5 years and an election. they only plan on what will get short term goals and a election.

for things like the NHS and Education it needs serious overhauling and plans agreed across parties that can then be implemented over 10-20 years. becuase inevitably any major change will see things worsen before they improve.

But as they are all out for themselves it won't happen.

  3. Needs to be heavily modded to have a chance of pulling that off. Doesn't work on a standard car

I don't know a bolt on carbon front splitter; carbon spats and carbon rear diffuser with a big wing and it would pull it together more

  4. Mark Ng (bulletmagnet) had rays on his zed they looked very good and he had it setup well without lowering etc.

from memory he went 9.5 front 10.5 rear for the decent look from the rear (nice wide meaty tyres) don't know what offsets he ran but he didn't need spacers or alterations; I think he also ran them in 19" format not 18"

  5. why join the TTIP at all?

if its not a positive manoeuvre stay as we are on our current UK US trade setup.

we wouldn't spend any money on negotiation and we wouldn't have to suffer the TTIP. even the french and germans are starting to distance themselves form it.

with regards to obama's back of the queue crock of crap; he leaves soon anyway no one knows whosa next or what their plan is. and currently the queue is only one contract and thats the TTIP and thats about to fall through, so we would then go straight to the front of the queue.

  6. But if you didn't get the Toureg and got something cheaper, like a Focus estate or whatever, you'd then have the money to get something nice for yourself ;)

I'd have a busted back, only reason for the 4x4 is the height and the boot space, double buggy and all stuff for twins took up a lot of space. the added height has stopped me completely busting my back putting them in and taking out ( I do most of the nursery pickups and drop offs). worth every penny in my books.

for the price of the touareg i'd have ended up with 2 cheap cars that were less reliable than the 1 good car thats been faultless.

  7. i'd have both, something nice to drive to work, and something fun for the weekend.

Currently can't afford the weekend toy so i just have to live with practical and nice.

Jonty already has the zed for the weekend, so i suppose it depends on what he prioritises first in the company car. if its MPG then buy cheap and cheerful diesel muncher, if its comfort and cockpit then the germans are possibly going to be the front runners. if its fun and engaging, probably going down the leon route. if boot space and passenger space is key, then saloon and estate will be higher than hatch and supermini.

  8. I disagree you can have sensible and fun, or fun and economical

or practical, but a nice place to be.

If i have to spend a lot of time in a vehicle i wouldn't want to be sat in the cheapest interior going just because it does an extra 5mpg, i'd rather sacrifice a little MPG for a nice cockpit.

  9. Just had a phone call from my insurer, the lorry's insurer has accepted liability so I have zero excess to cough up for. More than that, I feel vindicated in knowing that it 100% wasn't my fault in the slightest :D

So yeah, bit of a win/win now. Stupid sodding lorry driver!

least your lorry driver has a conscience; the guy who hit me is a monumental tool!

  10. Golf R is on deals again, you're looking at approx £180pcm right now.

If its a business car isn't it meant to be sensible? like diesel? or do i misinterpret the situation? why have to hot cars?

i do love the golf R though

  11. The way the whole thing is being sold i'm not really sure either way; its like deciding between a kick to the nuts by one person or a kick to the shins by another. both are going to hurt, its just choosing whats going to hurt less and who you'd rather have do it to you.

I don't for a minute think our government have a clue how to do it properly, but i think i'm less convinced by the eurocrats who are all unelected.

  12. In all honesty i couldn't say,

but anything that has a 30 year secrecy clause on it has to be dodgy.

We don't have a trade agreement with the US now, would we be any worse off if we didn't bother? keep the status quo as it is?

I'm not sure the tories would sign over legal powers that give american corporations the upper hand. They are pro privatization, but they are also pro themselves and if they are linked with big business are they likely to screw themselves or their mates over?
