  1. my mates a model, and she's not bad looking if i do say so myself, but i've only been married a week and i think my missus might have something to say if she catches me taking pics of my mate with not a lot on.

and my missus won't volunteer instead, and if she did i don't think i would be allowed to share them

  2. yep its got bridgestones on, all round, think they are the original tyres from new, done nearly 14,000, got roughly 5 mm tread at the rear. need to go and measure tonight.

had them on the 2, they're ok, but i want to get a set of falken 452's.

might have to do rear first then the fronts.

i know its important not to mix tyres across the axle, i'm guessing its the same as the 2 that you probably all reccommend to have same brands all round.

if so it looks like i need to give Camskills a ring. just on the off chance anyone know how much he charges for a full set. black circles look about £97 a corner unfitted, £115 fitted.

  3. as ekona said its horses for courses, and you need to work out which pony you want.

    but a rough guideline is

turbo = boost to acceleration once pressure has built up (bigger the turbo the more the lag)

super charger = more progressive boost throughout the range but not as much as a turbo can give

NOS = can be done several ways as a sudden boost button to give a temporary kick, or a smaller progressive kick (when switched on it puts in less but over a longer period) i don't think you can run it permanently on a slow trickle, its a bit of all or nothing.

other option is to rework the engine, ECU, new internals port and polsih etc. will be completely NA but you'll need to spend alot of money to get the kind of power gains that super chargers and turbos give.

my advice is go to a couple of meets where people have cars already modded, get them to give you a passenger ride out, see what you like most. you may find that you would prefer something else.

my guess is you'll probably want to go turbo. it gives you that NOS style kick once the Turbo kicks in. you'll just need to work out how big a turbo you want? :headhurt:

  4. welcome :teeth:

    NOS is good,

i'm fairly new to the car, but like other cars, rule of thumb is that when increasing power, you should budget for a new performance clutch, never assume that the original will cope with an extra 50BHP etc.

you may find it will be fine, but it will wear out quicker.

i maqy be wrong, so if someone with more knowledge on the car wants to correct me please do

    good luck with the plans

  5. Not sure about modding yet, there might be one or two little things but nothing on the scale i was on with the MR2.

might add a pop charger, better tyres, new gear knob, not much more.

as from what people say most power mods are negligable on the Z as the ECU cancels them out. so i can't see the point in spending thousands for 1 or 2 bhp.

and to be honest its a pretty good car as standard.

  6. Thanks guys,

seems ok so far on the normal RON stuff, but then i don't know what they used to feed it and if it still has some remanents of the old fuel still in.

but from the brief milage i'v done its been ok.

and yep they brought it all the way from harrowgate and took my 2 cars away all for £50.

will hopefully get some pics up soon. seem to get home in the dark from work so will have to possibly wait till the weekend. :headhurt:

  7. Hi guys,

just joined the fold, i got mine today was delivered all the way down from horrowgate just for me.

    its a silver GT coupe.

i may have meet some of you before i went to JAE in 2007 with MR2 ROC and feel in love with several of your cars there.

since then had a brief stint with CIVINFO while i had my diesel.

and now I'm glad to be back with a performance car!
