I have just purchased an air scoop from mr mudd, but am now in a slight quandry of what to do with it. (save the funny remarks of "fit it" till later )
my car is stock at the moment and i was trying to work out what it would look like on my silver zed.
i have tried to find pictures of ones fitted on other peoples cars but not having much luck, just found one or 2.
could people who have them fitted stick a pic up for me so i can see what they did.
my options are:
do i leave it and fit as standard showing the full glory of the carbon fibre
or
should i be more suttle and spray it to match the car for a more stealth look.
either way people are going to notice a hole in the fromt of my bumper

i luaghed so much a little bit of wee came out

its best done with ale, less fizz easier to chuff, only down side is the beer sh1ts in the morning.
done it once with cider never again
and i like cider

i used to have a roadster before the coupe, and they are good fun, nothing beats dropping the top on a clear day

from what i can tell, your options are turbo, or new ecu/piggyback.
neither from what i've heard are cheap.
i've seen a rotrex supercharger kit with everything you need excluding fitting for about £5200.
i think the PE turbo system excluding fitting is about £5000
a new ECU something like haltech i'm not sure
-
might also list any mods or extras if it carries them or is it fully standard.
MOT, tax etc, last service

i do have a soft spot for Apexi filters, they are good, sounded fantastic on the 2.
i'm thinking the nismo might be best if big phil does them for £160, as it will save me having to get an aftermarket inlet pipe, and comes ready fitted with the water non return valve, and i have hopefully got a bumper air scoop.
did you say that on the nismo you have to remove a water resevoir to fit the kit in. or is it just a straight fit?
dan i have a feeling i'm going to have a nismo fetch, much like the TRD one i had with the 2.

does that mean ican have first dibs on the intake

i thought the pop charger was an oiled mesh filter?
Where would i get a carbon intake pipe from?

damn it that was fast on here.
11.21 items up, 11.23 first item gone.
i wqould have had the badge and the scoop, never mind, maybe next time

am swaying at the AEM as it has a dry filter to it.
if the nismo is a the same but rebranded and big phil does them for £160 i might have to have one, as i found an AEM for £170 and they are normally £203. or can you get them cheaper?

car looks very good,
nice filter too.

ESR have done a good job, and it does look very mean and very Phat, I'm sure you must be really pleased with it.
i like the wide wheel arches but i would look at having them blended in to give it more of a stealth OEM look to it. but thats my personal taste.
all its missing now is some rocket launchers and a couple of GPMG's and your ready for battle

i had a bit of a modding bug and did things like this
and this
the induction kit was originally a stainless apexi induction pip, but the inside had corroded, so i re painted it.
and the engine cover had bee na glass fibre copy and had been made with raised lettering saying midship runabout. so i rebuilt it, took all the lettering off repsrayed and re branded.

This was my old baby, not alot of standard parts left on her, i kind of hoped that with the 350Z i wouldn't need to do anything and to keep her faily stock, but fat chance of that, i'm already looking at new bits. will i ever learn
i sprayed all the kit parts, rebuilt the side skirts from recovered crash car, custom built the fog lights at the front with various parts. fitted the mesh in the vents. etc. time investment on that car was priceless
-
already contemplating the odd mod.
can't make my mind up on the old CAI section
toss up between
Pop charger £95
K&N Typhoon
Nismo £160
just looking prices up, think i have it right, what ever i get it will hopefully come from big phil as my mate has already recommended him to me, and everyone speaks highly of him on here.
pop charger makes most sense as its cheaper, and there is no real gain other than sound. but it needs extra bits to shield it. and i'm never sure about mesh filters
k&n is nice, but its an oiled filter, i previously used Apexi cone filter on my MR2 as its a dry filter, but no one seems to have had any problems with it.
nismo is nice but would like the bumper cut out as well, but not found prices on that yet.
also like the piper cross, but its too expensive
