  1. Pop up the road to martlesham near Ipswich. I use Team AFM for all my performance cars. They are very good and already deal with several 350z's and know the car well. They are also the sister company to an excellent body shop.

  2. Good luck :)

We are in a similar situation at the moment. Our house went on the market this morning.

We have already reserved a new build property so fingers crossed ours sells quickly.

we are in an identical situation, having reserved a new build, been on the market 3 weeks. Just excepted an offer this afternoon. Now I just have to stress until the exchange of contracts then its all good.

  3. If I'm honest its been a rubbish birthday, but there has been a lot of positives from it.

I managed to go and see my aunt on my birthday. She was in the final stages of terminal bowel cancer, and I managed to spend a few hours with her yesterday. She was lucid for most of it, but when I said goodbye she was just starting to struggle to keep conscious.

She spent all of today very unresponsive.

Sadly 2 hours ago she passed away.

I'm glad that I got to spend time with her one last time. And its sad to think I was the last to speak to her.

She was an amazing woman and will be greatly missed. Its sad to think my children will never get to talk to such an incredible person.

  4. Argentina use the Falklands as a way of diverting attention away from other serious political issues they have at home. What made me laugh was the sign in the first episode. Talk about a deluded nation.

They invaded first, they got their arses handed to them and they lost. So how they can claim ownership I have no idea.

And their reaction at the end of the second episode just goes to show how ridiculous they are. To get so worked up over a vague number plate.

Yes the sinking of the Belgrano was very sad, but if a country manoeuvres a warship in a time of combat into a combat position, don't expect it to get ignored.

Thats the issue though, at no point were Argentina or the UK at war during the Falklands conflict - it was a conflict not a war, so there were legal agreements in place as to the total exclusion zone around the islands which is where the conflict could only take place - the belgrano was 200km outside that zone and was attacked as it was perceived as a threat. There is evidence to show that the UK extended that zone before the attack but it was not disclosed to Argentina. The UK countered with some intel that showed the belgrano was about to attack so they took pre-emptive action. Its not a clear cut 'we took em on and beat em yeah go us' issue and is the basis for the amount of hatred that still exists in Argentina over it, to a level I am sure none of us can grasp.

I'm not a team America style fck yeah we won type person. I am aware more than most of the intricacy of the conflict. But typing on a tablet tends to lead me to paraphrase down what I want to write. My apologies if it came across that way.

As with many conflicts we fight in, (nothing changes) we went under prepared and under resourced and were very lucky things were not very different.

I don't relish the thought that lives were lost on either side

My frustration is with a political body that is again trying to deflect attention by trying to whip up a nationalist frenzy. And by the looks of that top gear episode they seem to be doing a good job.

It will only ever lead to one thing.... more loss of life

  5. My dad lost many friends in the fleet air arms after Argentinian pilots fired missiles and dropped bombs on hangar decks as they were soft targets on ships.

People mourn the loses on both sides

There was a lot of tragedy on both sides, but they all signed up to do a job and that's what the armed forces did. If the Argentinian wanted to blame someone, they should blame their own government for picking the Falklands thinking it was an easy target to help bots nationalism at a time of poor economic instability, thinking the British would just roll over. And getting the shock of their life when we bite back.

  7. Rob, we've met on several occasions and helped me put together products for a range of car marques. I've had the pleasure of meeting Christine on a couple of occasions. She was a lovely lady and the 2 of you were always so welcoming.

This is extremely sad news and I'm so sorry to see that you both had to go through this. The worst things always seem to happen to the nicest people.

Thank you for sharing with us and I hope you are keeping well in what has been a very tough time.

    My condolences

  8. Excellent choice,

    Cheers Rich :)

saw the production line for the xj in October with my engineering students. Impressive kit level

Do you know if Husky still works there ?

yes he does, but not linked with the XJ production.
  9. I made the original ones

I could make another batch up, but don't have the time to manage a thread, etc. IF some one works out numbers I'll do a short production run.

Really struggling at the moment still need to do something for 2 other people. But day job and twins has ransacked my time. Hence why I stopped trading.

If someone else doesn't mind doing the leg work I'll see what I can do to help.

  10. Thanks both, very useful information. :) I did average about 15k a year, but was trying to keep mileage down on this car (not because of costs particularly) but because I didn't want to put miles on the clock.

its not a collectors car, at the moment its only going to depreciate, better to enjoy the car than worry about mileage. If it was a Ferrari I'd say you have a case.
