  1. A HR at sub 40k miles is probably worth about 12-15k if I had to guess.
  2. I came up to Halifax near you to get my gaskets sorted last August. Horsham and also Abbey will sort it for you, but I didn't want to drive that far so Tarmac Sportz recommended me a garage called AB Autoworks. You're right about the price, will cost about a grand. I got a service done at the same time because pretty sure they have to drain the oil for the job anyway but might be wrong on that. I'll link you their facebook, they've put a couple of things on there about gallery gaskets recently - https://www.facebook.com/abautoworkshalifax/
  3. Cheers mate. Managed a couple of 14.3's which was pretty disappointing, should really get in into the 13's especially with a HR but i'll blame it on being my first time and having a passenger 😅. Still great fun though. Mods are in my signature but ill just paste it in case your on your phone and can't see it - 08' HR In Night Blue, Eibach ARB's and Spacers, Tein S-Tech Springs, Tarmac Sportz Lightweight Flywheel, HFC's and Front Splitter, Milltek Y-Pipe, Custom Catback, HKS Filters, UpRev Tuned 326hp 280ftlb
  4. Couple of pictures from Japshow at Santa Pod on Sunday.
  5. Think it was 800 - 1000 I forget exactly. Yeah I suppose it could be a risk. Some will say it won't cause damage others will say it can, but who really knows? Doubt anyone's stripping engines down to check. Just a bit of a gamble if you're willing to buy one. Maybe think about giving a garage like the one i mentioned a ring or another well known specialist like Horsham Developments and get their opinion on the matter.
  6. As far as I know, oil gallery gasket issues can’t cause any engine damage, but can cause worse performance while the pressures low due to lack of advanced cam timing. I had my gallery gaskets done at a garage called AB Autoworks in Halifax who work on a lot of these cars and when I asked if any damage had been caused the answer was no.
  7. The motul 75W-85 from Tarmac is what I use with some molyslip in too. The OEM oil is hard to find these days, but they're the same grade and viscosity so should be fine.
  8. Cheers for the offer Andy, but I think I’ll just make my way down a bit later on than that.
  9. Yeah very true, wouldn't mind the stand being a bit more central too.
  10. So our area is meant to be on grass? Looks like we might be moved last minute-
  11. If anyone else is coming down the M1, me and my mate will probably make a stop at Leicester Forest East Services at about 6:45, which is about 45 mins away from Silverstone.
  12. If you look at the top comment on this post someone else had the same issue and the organisers replied and said they refreshed it. Maybe you need to contact them? My stand pass looks fine so guess just some people are affected. https://www.facebook.com/JapFestCarShow/posts/pfbid0uRsdMBNTnW57jfoCE3ioUhTQkdPu9MrT7VeSupB95fziAoqsAWYC2eSXxKZPJRdJl?locale=en_GB
  13. They just said on FB they're distributing them over the next 24 hours.
  14. Hard to pick a favorite one so I'll do the most recent-
  15. They didn't come out the factory with them but you can buy cheap ones like that off eBay and wire them in. Paints looking great 👍
  16. If you don't end up getting the other one and you're after a scanner with a built in screen here's the one I use for my car- https://www.amazon.co.uk/MOTOPOWER-MP69033-Universal-Diagnostic-Protocol/dp/B081635ZLF Good luck with sorting out the car. Here's a pic to show it works-

  18. Hello everyone, I’ve just noticed on my front left wing there is a slight chip in the paintwork exposing some bare metal. No idea how this has happened, presumably a stone was flicked up by the wheel and it struck the arch right on the lip. Is this something I need to get sorted soon and is there a risk of rust spreading throughout the arch? Can this just be touched up, or does this kind of thing mean the arch must be re-sprayed? Thanks. For some reason, pictures posted from my phone like being sideways.
  19. Think used cats on these cars can go for maybe about £500-700. Had my Tarmac HFC's fitted a month or so ago with a tune, but I'm keeping my originals in case i need to swap them on for an MOT. Quite a bit more noise with the HFC's and a nice burble at idle, glad I got them.
  20. Hello and nice Zed. As for a specialist near you, I'd recommend AB Autoworks. They sorted the oil gallery gaskets on my car and I went back to have some springs put on too. They work on loads of these cars and are a good bunch. https://www.facebook.com/abautoworkshalifax
  21. Ah right thought you meant you installed it yourself. Good luck with it.
  22. Hello, What happened to my car was that the garage that did the initial installation was somewhat lazy and decided not to do the proper job of cleaning out the bell housing with brake cleaner etc and just stuck the new parts in. I can only assume some of the muck in the bell housing - 14 years of just crap that was in there - made its way onto the clutch plate or flywheel and basically caused the juddering issue we both have. The guy at the second garage explained to me that any oil, grease, dirt etc on the clutch dust could cause this issue and just got it up in the air and blasted some of the rubbish out. Nothing was taken off, was like a 10 minute job and the guy didn't even charge me and the car was back to normal afterwards. So definitely doable without dropping the gearbox or anything. Hopefully it work the same way for you, but if it's grease or something it may not just come off with some compressed air. When you installed the clutch and flywheel did you wash or wipe it down? I'm fairly sure that most come with a protective layer of grease, sort of like a brake disc, that needs to be cleaned off. That could also cause the issue? Good luck with fixing it.
