  1. @Umster Cheers for your input mate  I am leaning towards the K-Sport kit I think. In the grand scheme of things they're not that expensive in comparison to going discs alone so they'll most likely be worth it in the long run. I'd imagine I'll go with the 6-pot 356mm version just to be on the safe side clearance wise. They'll 100% fit with my current wheels but I want to ensure that I won't have any issues if I ever go to 3 piece wheels.

  2. Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience and/or recommendations when it comes to 2-piece discs for their Akebono's?

Having had a look online I can see a few decent options but the prices seem to be through the roof in a few cases.

The Z1 kit looks to be a fairly reasonable price coming in at a little over $1000 or so for 4 discs but I can't seem to find anything in the UK that can come close to that price. More than happy to import them as I figure the total after postage and import tax will probably be around £1200. The Torqen 2-piece discs look to be pretty good as well but I can't seem to find a price for those on the website strangely. Are they still available for purchase? @Adrian@TORQEN

Realistically I don't want to be spending much over the £1100-1200 mark as anything over that and I may as well just buy a K-Sport brake kit at £2.5k as that will include the discs as well as new callipers and I can then no doubt recoup some of that cost by selling my Akebono's, pads and discs.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. And before anyone says, I know that I do not 'need' to upgrade to 2-piece discs, neither do I 'need' the K-Sport kit as the car isn't tracked. It is purely for the fact that I'm powder coating my callipers soon and would like to do something with the bells of the discs as well. Ridiculous I know  But it should look pretty interesting when complete.

  3. @Umster Cheers mate, appreciate it!

This year I'm going to really try and get to as many shows as possible as I've been slacking this past year or so. Going to submit applications for some of the indoor shows (fitted, gravity, players etc.) as well as attending the usual shows like Japfest Silverstone and Japanese Performance Show. I doubt I'll be attending any shows at Castle Combe (not with my car at least) as they've been a bit of a let down recently.  It seems everything outside of the 350zUK stand is a bit mediocre and I tend to lose interest in the show by about 11am  but that's probably just me being a but snob-ish

  4. Pic heavy post once again. Now the car is clean i quickly popped out for a few more photos of the car, just in time for it to rain as soon as i arrived :lol:

I'm also looking to get some sort of sideskirt canards to be chopped up and placed on the rear bumper so that the side profile of the car is continues lip-kit-wise. Just asking a few companies for dimensions of their products and I'll go from there!

    Preferred the old one, sorry

I am still a big fan of the old ducktail, it was just too small IMO with how aggressive i plan on making the rest of the car look. I knew this wouldn't be to everyone's taste though so that's fair enough.

  6. Collected my car from Option 1 Sports Cars in Worcestershire today after having the 326Power Wing painted and fitted as well as having the boot lid smoothed and resprayed.

Their quality of workmanship is simply unbelievable. I am completely over the moon with the work they have done and will never use any other body shop going forward. The wing has been perfectly formed to mate with the shape of the boot lid and a small rubber gasket was made and sandwiched in between the wing and boot to seal it from water ingress while allowing me to remove the wing without any issues. No silicone here!

The paintwork itself is flawless. and a perfect match with the rest of the car. To top it off as well, they even fully valeted the car prior to pick up!  All for the more than reasonable price of £500 + VAT. I couldn't be happier with the service and would more than recommend them to anyone who wants to have something painted and/or some composite work done.

I've also fitted an Inspired Race Developments Front Splitter and pair of Side Skirt Extensions. The other lip kit i had planned on fitting was simply too low unfortunately just wouldn't work with any form of practicality. No chance I'm raising the car so it had to go...

On the plus side though, i much prefer the Inspired stuff anyway so it all worked out in the end. The owner also asked me to become a brand ambassador as well which is pretty awesome so i look forward to doing things together in the future.

All in all it's been a pretty awesome month or so since i last updated this project thread! :D

Can I get 1st dibs if the sale falls through?

Sure, no problem. It is due to be collected tomorrow morning. If the guy doesn't come to collect it I'll let you know!

Out of curiosity why have you removed the duckbill if you don't mind me asking ? It looks so good on the car !

I've recently purchased a 326Power Wing which i am currently in the process of fitting. I did like the ducktail a lot, just fancied a change and something a tiny bit more aggressive to suit the new front splitter, sideskirt extensions and rear lips i have made.

  8. @daz8235 Unfortunately that's the case. I've had a sunstrip fitted to mine fore the past 2 years or so and I've had to go without auto wipers and auto lights etc.

Not having auto lights isn't a big deal imo but the auto wiper thing is kind of a pain when the rainfall isn't very heavy; wipers on constantly is a bit over the top so i tend to just flick the toggle every 15 seconds or so to clear the windscreen.

Pic of mine with the aforementioned sunstrip:

  9. @zelda Burn the old bush out and press the new one in  It's a pretty simply job assuming you have some basic tools at your disposal; more than doable at home on the drive.

In the past I've used a threaded bar and a socket that's slightly bigger than the bush to pull the bushes in.

Popping the new bushes in the freezer for a few hours before can sometimes help to shrink them a bit so they press in easier.

  10. Hi all,

Up for sale is my Fibreglass Ducktail Wing made by Piotr Grzelak and painted in Magnetic Black by Bodyworx in Bristol.

I've had the wing fitted for just over a year or so and it is in essentially perfect condition. I will be giving the wing a quick polish before the buyer collects so it'll be ready to be bolted straight on.

Very easy to fit and will bolt directly to your 370z once the stock wing has been removed.

Further details and the original group-buy thread can be found here.

The wing is for collection ONLY from Bristol. I do travel to and from Reading for work each week so i am also happy to meet someone along the M4 somewhere if needs be.

£180 on collection or £185 via Paypal (to cover the small % fee they add on goods & services transactions).

  11. Today was another one of those days where a quick 30 minute job turned out to be a 2 hour nightmare...

I received a set of Silver Project Toe Arms from my girlfriend for Christmas so I could finally delete the rear spring bucket. As I'm sure most people are aware, the rear cam bolts for adjusting toe have a tendency to seize inside the bush in the spring bucket. I managed to free off the bolt to get it rotating inside the bush with a heat gun but I couldn't for the life of me get the bolt out the bush. A good 30 minutes of swearing later and I gave up and popped to B&Q to get an angle grinder and some replacement bolts

Needless to say, the issue was soon resolved and the arms installed. Much better :D

The quality of the arms seems pretty spot on and well worth the £100 that they cost. No idea how some companies justify charging any more than that for something so basic tbh.

For anyone considering replacing your arms on the rear of a 370 and looking at the eccentric bolt delete kit that a few vendors sell for £70 ish, don't bother. A set of M12 x 85mm bolts and some M12 washers with a 35mm outer diameter is all you need  It probably cost me the grand total of £10 if that!

is that not a bit dodgie I put 25mm all round did not like 25mm at front ,put 20mm on and found that was perfect for me, so i now have a nearly new set of 25 mm spacers for sale.:teeth:

Not a single problem so far. Doesn't rub the arch or anything like that under compression

It's the equivalent of running a 62mm spacer on the rear and 79mm spacer on the front with stock wheels so it's fairly wide. It's crazy what you can fit under the stock arches on these cars!

  13. Fibreglass lip kit and the fitting of the 326Power wing is currently underway. Aiming to get it all sorted and painted ready for early 2020!

Although I previously said otherwise, I'm probably going to fit the lip kit prior to purchasing the aircups. Fingers crossed I don't break anything after all his work :headhurt::lol:

I've also went even bigger on the spacers so I'm now at the following specs:

    Front

    19 x 10.5J et12 w/ 25mm spacer

    Rear

    19 x 10.5J et12 w/ 37.5mm spacer

Fitment is pretty perfect if I do say so myself

  14. @Shunter8 You can fit almost anything on the back of these if you play about with tyre sizes and (maybe) a tiny bit of camber (2 or 3 degrees max).

Check out fitment industries gallery for an idea of what people have managed to get to fit on a 350.

    https://www.fitmentindustries.com/wheel-offset-gallery?year=2005&make=Nissan&model=350Z&wheel_diameter_from=18&wheel_width_from=11.0&sort=date

The link above has tonnes of 350's with 11J rears
