  1. @Umster I just think VAG cars, in particular, aren't particularly soulful and although they kick out some good numbers and all seem lovely on paper... To own they're not always what you'd expect. A lot of people love them and get along with them great but I would expect a 350z/370z driver would not slot into driving something which is not involving and is a bit dull and dead to drive I concluded for daily driving, build quality, modernisation and driving fun, buy something RWD and German... Potentially porsche and top of the range bmws etc
  2. Did go to look at a TTRS before buying my M3 and this is just my 2 cents... I probably had a poor experience as the RS was a bit scruffy and a bit more money than my M3 (£3.5k), but I found I preferred the naturally aspirated "purer" driving experience and the V8 sound of course. The RS does everything exceptionally well but is almost a bit dull and soulless, if that can even be a thing in such a fast car! The performance specs made me want one really bad and sure it's crazy quick, but I went down the route of a fast/tuneable turbo car before and it honestly doesn't mean you will have more FUN in it! I am definitely having much more fun in the M3 than what I ever would have in the TT and my previous modified 135i and found myself having a "connection" with it straight away, which is arguably what having a "drivers car" and being an "enthusiast" is all about... IMHO the TT, even in manual form, is not a drivers car
  3. Haha! How's the mini going for you anyways? I suppose it's kind of bmw so sort of on the right lines I had a look at a cayman s before the M3, great driving position and a nice "porsche" sound... Just in my case the cayman s I looked at was a bit of a dog or I may have ended up with one! No regrets from the M3 so far... If money was no object, I would probably look for a Z4M, if you weren't to do a lot of mileage, as they're really holding/increasing in their values... and a Z4M coupe is probably the car I've enjoyed driving the most, the chassis and engine is just meant to be it's an awesome car and appreciating modern classic
  4. It's AWESOME, seriously. Accept it's going to be costly to run and own but just enjoy it because it will make you smile and enjoy every time you start the car and drive! the fuel tanks are smaller than the 350z's and it is worse on fuel, so it seems even worse than what it is, if you know what I mean... I had a DCT gbox before and although it's a fantastic gearbox and insanely quick, it makes you feel distant from the driving experience and that's what it is all about... So no doubt for me, manual with EDC and any other extras are a bonus. PM me if you want a chat!
  5. 3rd car this year (still German tho) - 350z to 135i, and now in the car I should have bought after the 350z... E92 M3 Gorgeous car, right spec with a proper manual and edc and a few other bits of course! Got a reasonable deal on it and just feels special... Making friends with the petrol station guy even more now
  6. Damn... I thought I was in the clear for a second
  7. Lol I'm 21 with a very full set of hair and have just bought a V8 M3 Worth it for the noise it makes... Certainly a step up from a 350z, but then again it's twice the value Can see myself back in a 350z when I need the spare ££££ for sure
  8. Just went to go look at a cayman s and nearly lost my rag with the fella. Said it had full porsche/specialist service history and turn up after 2 hours drive and it hasn't been serviced in 15k miles and 4 years... Needed a major service with spark plugs, didn't was to service it or health check it, didn't want to knock any money off and it was over priced to start off with if it was clean! Bloody nightmare looking for cars
  9. Spotted this, very low mileage but with 5 owners??? Any history on here with this car? At junction 17 which I've read doesn't always have the best history either https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201908151169925?postcode=tn61ht&price-to=25000&transmission=Manual&body-type=Coupe&make=NISSAN&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New&maximum-mileage=60000&advertising-location=at_cars&model=370 Z&price-from=9000&sort=relevance&radius=200&page=3
  10. I would say so, would like to have a go back to back in both and compare Sure the Nismo will feel much more fun and engaging I did see that one for sale and the boy in me is liking it a lot! Have to see if any serious bites come of selling the bimmer
  11. Starting to fancy myself a go in a 370z Nismo, glad to have chosen the bmw but can't see myself keeping it much longer than a year or max 2
  12. May be looking the other way, getting rid of the more practical car and going back to a zed... Possibly a 370z or Nismo Mind you the more practical car I have now is faster than my old Z by a long shot
  13. Bleed on the slave cylinder the slave cylinder can also be a weak link on these cars if you search the forums, but may not be a problem for you! A good tip is to get a clear piece of tube in a bottle or something to see when the air bubbles stop when you're bleeding the system through. As zman said, to try stop your squeaking have a good spray up to lube all the clutch linkage.
  14. The clutch system is hydraulic, my 350z clutch line broke and I lost all the fluid resulting in the pedal hitting the floor... You really don't want this The hel braided line is fine for the clutch line replacement, there were problems with brake lines I have heard before, but then again some people haven't had any trouble! Easy enough to do, the line simply is a straight replacement, just might need a second person in the car on the pedal and topping the reservoir up while it's being bled through
  15. Now converted jap to German owner... I can't stand the new Z4 Where's all the Z4M's... Only real 2 seater sports car bmw has made for a while IMHO
  16. Thought I'd share a nice pretty graph The car is a torque machine now! Was expecting higher bhp figures, so was the tuner. Have been told I can go back to visit for another run in the cooler weather as ambient temps were pretty high! All in all though the car has been seriously woken up and picks up speed scarily quickly
  17. I'm sure with the small ish, twin scroll turbo giving additional bhp and torque all the way through the rev range it will increase drivability just right
  18. Dyno day Saturday, first car of mine to ever be tuned/dynoed. Little bit nervous, but hoping for some strong gains
  19. Absolutely gorgeous car, the only brand new bmw that really appeals to me! Got the 135i coupe with the older version N55 engine, going for dyno and mapping Saturday
  20. Tints look great! If you don't mind me asking, how much did it set you back? Looking to get this done too
  21. GlWTS Martin, surprised to see you selling up after lots of ££££ spent on your pride and joy!
  22. Ohh the turbo noises make me smile Still missing that V6 exhaust
  23. The 350z replacement... See where I got the bmw bug from
  24. Haha Yeah a friend of mine got a deal on a 140 too as the dealers are trying to get rid of them all now as the new 1 series is going to be fwd and a 4 cylinder!!! Think they may keep one model 4wd and 6 cylinder at least... I'm in the middle of modifying my bmw now, the modifying bug carries on
