  1. A great day out was had, fine weather, a wealth and great distribution of most marques you can imagine, our own VLAD scooped a couple of cups. I spotted at least 3 350's including my own of course, met some forum members for the first time too. There was even a fly by Spitfire around lunch time. http://
  2. Watch this little gem, also it is across a crease.
  3. Another scam going on then
  4. Matty, same with the 1.8 Duratec. The noise was there at tickover then not again till about 1900 rpm. Strange. It still pulled well and no other obvious issues at the time.
  5. Deffo go for a new battery. I have gone down the route of trying to keep an ageing old friend going on and on and on. The worst possible time you can imagine, it will let you down.
  6. I had my first spin as passenger in a 09 plate Carrera S few days ago, likewise, interior didn't do much but the punch in the back when it took off was damn hefty.
  7. I would say it's picked up on a bottom end shell bearing. I had a car in last week exactly the same sound. The noise from the white metal bearing shell as it has detaxched gets transferred up the rod and through the piston crown and sounds very loud inside the rocker cover. This particular car was a ford 1.8 Duratec engine and it was big end number one but sounded like exhaust valve number one.
  8. I reckon Autel is one of the best out there at the moment for the price range and what they do out of the box. There are loads of cheap hand helds that will tell you a code for about a tenner. Mine does so much morer. There is too much to even start trying to write down here. Good luck in the minefield of diagnostics......
  9. I purchased the Autel maxidas DS705 pro scanner last year for my garage. It seems to do all the Snap on more expensive unit does. Again it all depends on exactly what you need to do with a quality scanner. I think it caos about £800 at the time. No issues with it so far.

    From the album: my Z

The day I paid for my Z.
  13. I run my own garage. Many times a new 'out of the box' sensor has failed before its been fitted. I check all sensors now using autodata test parameters before I fit them. also, I try to get OEM sensors for all makes now. They are expensive but seem to work. If you own a Zafira 1.8 and buy a cheap coil pack, it will not last the year out! You have been warned.
  14. nothing wrong with a mid life or even over the hill life crisis, just ask me about it.
  15. M/cycle mechanic for years, just got rid of my ZZR1100 but still have the old faithful, BMW K1100 RS, ex police bike. Prefer my 350 Z now though.
  16. Hey Vlad, that will look the dogs in mine as the one in there is broken. Im in Leamington saturday lunch time so can collect. Sold to Simon. Sent you PM
  17. Since I got my 350Z, I cant help but feel sorry for the Jag. Im not that young any more, BUT, behind the wheel of the Z is like being in the barrel of a gun. Now the Jag, if I feel like pushing it to the edge, I first need to call the stoker in the boiler room, tell him to put more coal in the boiler, then tell the 1st mate to give me 3 bells and only then do I start getting the feeling that something is about to happen. Then it happens BUT not in the blink of an eye. This never bothered me until that fateful day that I sat in a Z. Not just any old Z but my Z. Bit like the first time you exchange eye to eye with a girl and you just know the outcome is gonna be epic. I love the old jag. Its like the comfy armchair in the room where the cat sits by the fire to warm up. It's the thing that aquires admiring glances from older ladies. It has a boot that never gets used so why have one. I like the colour. I like the badge and it was made in good old England. It smells like a Jaguar. But at the end of the day I now prefer the balistic 4 wheeler which is about to benefit from the money I get from selling the old girl. Sorry to all out there who like their Jag's. Mine's a Z anytime.
  18. Hi all, back home now with my first 350Z. Already has lots done like suspention, Janspeed exhaust, lowered, 19" wheels, cone air filter, some huge adjustable wing. Anyway, my other car is a Jaguar XK8 with 300 horse. First off, the Z is so much quicker off the mark, I need to go to santa Pod and get it on the Dyno. Dont know if or what or if any serious engine mods have been done till I get it on the ramp on Friday. Loving my first drive from London to Coventry. More to come .
