Just to let you know, Sly from Kaizer fixed my car. It was some contaminants in the oil, stopping some oil getting to variable valve timing components. Sly put some engine flush and changed the oil and oil filter and problem solved. I just want to say Its great to find a technician who is so highly qualified, knowledgable, fairly priced and explain things to you properly, so thank you for the recommendation.

I couldn't actually post the whole video as it's only allowing 1MB, but with slight rev the knocking gets louder and faster, then a bit more and the noise cuts out a bit. Strangely after that the knocking noise has gone now (obviously haven't driven it) so I'm unsure whats going on?

Excellent, I'll give him a bell and let you know what it is. If it gets too expensive I'll have to resort to cards to enjoy myself! :-)

Thanks for the responses. I have changed the two belts a couple of weeks ago. Took it to a garage and he seems to think its bottom end. So I'm guessing a big end or small end bearing? Does anyone know a specialist I can take the car to in the kent area, hopefully near ashford way?

I bought a lovely 2003 350z a couple of months ago, and thought I would join the forum to gain some knowledge and see whats going on in the 350z world.
