  1. True, but when the driver doesn't change then power is nothing without control. "First make it stop, then make it handle, then make it go." Old, but still true. And I'm talking about road driving more than track. Agree with both points although id say the brakes on the zed are more than ample to accommodate the gains made from uprev in this case. As for tyres, you be a fool to skimp on a decent set on this car! Agreed Zippy, the brembos are well capable of stopping a 300bhp car and I will uprate the pads when they need changed, same with my Falkens, still tonnes of miles left on them so bolt on's and remap came first on my goodies list. Suspension will come before brakes and tyres also if there's still plenty of miles left on them, mpss tyres will be going on when ready
  2. Really hoping it's a member on here and they bring it back to life
  3. Your post is the reason for my post mate lol. Not same setup but close
  4. Yip there next Dan, just want to get car running sweet as possible, then do the brakes and tyres, common sense dictates do them first but I've 1000's of miles left on my tyres and brakes as theyve only done 3000 miles, so silly replacing them just now. Then it's suspension mods, I'll be broke by then end of summer lol
  5. Looks like we are too late to the party, Keyser's old Zed has sold
  6. What spark plugs do you recommend for this set up Mark ?
  7. Looks like I'll be pi**ed off then lol. Hopefully the remap will make it up to me by the way the car drives and feels then
  8. Sorry Sinnistar, sold pending payment, if it falls through I'll PM you.
  9. Gotta be better than 10 bhp Alex surely Zippypooz dyno'D at 300+ ponies. If your right I'm gona be one pi**ed off Zedder lol
  10. Lol its a healthy engine mate, with enough beans to keep on the tail lights of my son's FRS Mildly modded RS then? Just sold my 350hp mk1 RS,and much as I love my new 350Z, it's not a patch on my RS for outright speed. Sorry.....thread hijacked 400ths of a second down the 1/4 mile strip was the difference between us. His is mapped mine, bolt on bits and no map.......yet. Running 14's all day and he was 15th out of dozens fwd cars and I was 16th out of dozens of rwd cars, so not too bad.
  11. Too late they are all bought / about to be bought lol. Brakes and MPPS are next on the list when my current Falkens are due for renewal. Just looking to eek out a few more ponies with the bolt on's and remap and get her running as sweet as possible. Would love to break the 300bhp mark as Zippypoos did with his DE with bolt on's and a remap.
  12. BTW....have you got your hotels booked yet for May ??
  13. Lol its a healthy engine mate, with enough beans to keep on the tail lights of my son's FRS
  14. Can any of the more knowledgeable members give me an approximate bhp increase guide as to what I can reasonably expect from the following bolt on's and a remap please. I know it's subjective but................ Motordyne plenum spacer Flyboy's velocity stack mod Berks polished air intake pipe Decat pipes Stillen Y pipe Toyosports exhaust Uprev remap Cheers Bri
  15. Its been on ebay for a while now and no serious offers for her so was thinking.............. Serious offer for other Scottish members ( or any member for that matter)................ 5 man syndicate, £1000.00 in each and we buy it. Strip and divy up / sell the parts. There's some seriously good stuff on this car. Syndicate members would get first dibs on anything they wanted and sell on the rest. I have a 500sf garage ( just outside Edinburgh) pretty much fully tooled up except for hydraulic ramps, where it could be stored and stripped. My mates a mechanic and his garage (fully equiped) is less than 50 metres away from my unit, if we needed to purchase ramp time. I would prefer to see this beast on the road again, but this is seriously good and cheap high spec modding opportunity and the car would get to live on, albeit in other members cars. Any takers ??? PM me if interested
  16. Like that...especially because it's a Ginger one lol
  17. This would be worth buying for anyone looking to super mod their car, there's heaps of goodies on it, having said that, I'd rather see it back on the road, stunning looking Zed, total one off car.
  18. Love the RS brand and heritage, just wish they had kept the Escort name...Focus just sounds @*!#. However as my son has said above they are brilliant cars and fast even in standard form. I'd have one but not at 22k as they are selling for now. I really like the ST500'S as they are rarer and cheaply modded for power. My son had the ST before the RS and spend a few quid on bhp mods and it was stupid fast for a 2.5ltr car and handled really good.
