The car is a 2008 S2000 in silver with black leather, 36k and full Honda history. It has a couple of extras like the hardtop and heated seats. It just feels soo right to be sat back in a S2000, even when the wife was following me home and the 350z does look good. Photos stolen from the advert as its too dark at the moment

Well a 2008 S2000 with 36k was advertised yesterday at 3pm, it's now sat outside my house. The 350z is a good car but it's just not for me, so I will get it cleaned up and advertised soon. .

I took a 2005 boxster 3.2s out for a test drive last night, it suits my driving style soo much more than the 350z. A mate owns it so was happy for me to drive it normally. The feel on turn in was great, you could place the car where you want it, nice power delivery top end, great noise, similar economy to the 350z in my use, stereo was better in standard form. I will be doing a little more research about the engines before looking at any more as I know the 3.2s can have some issues and the 3.4s is a touch over budget at the moment

Without a few mods the 350z feels big and heavy compared to an S2000. I went from a 2004 S2k to 2007 350z HR in October and I'm still missing the S2k. It's a tough act to follow.

Before you change the engine have you worked out the cause of the failure? I don't know the full spec of your car but if your now focusing on more handling then i would be seeing what the previous failure was and if there is a potential fix before it could happen again

Just something to point out, there are a lot of dogs around they got cheap and people just used and abused them, so finding a good car is hard work without spending good money. I think the ACR has the older vtec system, not an issue, just more for information. If they made them till around 2005 I would probably have one. I've had a 2005 ep3 for 2 years, I didn't want to get rid when I got my S2000 so gave it to the Mrs. It's about to click over 100k now and I had the clutch done at 96k, bought it on 72k. It uses a bit of oil but keep an eye on it and topped up and it's no issue. Again if your considering a cheap ep3, it will end up costing you

I managed to get a deal for an AEM induction kit, it took a while but it's now on the car. Yeah I may ultimately lose a few hp but on an otherwise standard car does it really matter for that noise I prefer induction over exhaust for 2 reasons, induction noise is great and when you lift off its not obvious you were driving spiritedly also there is no chance of it droning. Fitting was fairly easy, apart from the pipes are that close to the front strut, I should have removed it bit didn't so I scratched it, oh well, more to worry about in life Since fitting the kit I am enjoying the car alot more, not sure if that's me driving a bit quicker or me growing in confidence with it. Fast flowing A-roads are a pleasure to drive so I am looking forward to changing these horrible uniroyals for my preferred Goodyears early next year. That will be the same time I fit the brake I have sat here. It is staying for a little while at least

i took an E46 M3 SMG for a test drive as i was unsure between that or the 350z. When i drove the car i didn't like the SMG at all and to me it seems like it should be the ultimate of what i want, can be used as auto for my daily driving and work journeys, paddles when i am on track or driving through the lake district. I didn't like the noise, feeling or the gearbox. That gear change can be brutal. I have previously owned an E39 M5, which alot of people will say i am mad for this but i found it a little too boring, it could do almost everything with ease apart from very tight twisties. Overtaking just involved pushing the pedal down more, you could throw it round for a big old barge and it did very well. i just felt like it wasn't me driving it, the car took it all in its stride so easily. to me a fun drivers car is about keeping it in the power, using the power available, good handling etc etc ultimate pace is not what i want from a car, if it was i would get a turbo something. Definitely have a drive as on paper it was the best car for me/my type of use, but i never plan on owning one. The E92 M3 on the other hand, i had a go in my mates and i will own one of those at some point in my life.

I'm fairly sure that was in Wokingham, it turns right at the roundabout by the Peugeot garage and he floors it, it's quite a few years old so I doubt it's still the same owner

There is a proper bedding in procedure which comes in the box. Conveniently I have a box sat here. Perform 25-30 trial brake application, each for approx 4 seconds using around 50% of normal race pedal pressure, check them afterwards to make sure they have a flat contact patch is the basics I would follow that if you can, they will have tested different methods. In reality it will probably be fine whatever you do

Congrats for Tuesday :-) I got married in May and it was my best man's wedding yesterday. As for the car, it will be half hers on Tuesday anyway ;-) if she likes it and wants it then go for it, but keep your name on the logbook to save a pointless additional keepers

Can it be welded over? It would do as a temp fix until you get a replacement, just thinking about other cars which have a welded in baffle. I may start looking at prices so I know how much it's going to hurt when it needs replacing as it's a common thing

Not as a straight swap according to one car audio place I spoke to, the Nissan kit was made for them, so different connections and system. Also there is no guarantee the mic will work either so you may have to run a new one in even if you get another kit working

I know of an e46 328i that had the issue, it's a design fault so can happen on them all. Redish motorsport have a load of info and a kit should the worst happen. They are a good car for the money if you like the inside of them

Some places will do a free alignment check so worth doing that first. Mine had falkens on the front and they were awful, same as your description, felt twitchy, no real grip and felt like the front was wondering over the road. I have changed them to match the rears and now have Uniroyal rain sport 3, it's much more stable and feels alot better. My falkens still had about 3.5-4mm of tread but I just wanted them gone. I have never been a fan of mixed tyres, unless it's cheap tyres on the rear for messing around.

I calculate mine from fill ups, I can't stand only chucking £10-20 of petrol in a car so makes it quite easy. My trip computer under reads by 1.5mpg, which I reset when I fill up

I keep a record of my mileage for my expenses and HMRC forms. So far it's around 22-24 for my short journeys in traffic, 29-30 on a longer run including motorways. One thing I am really enjoying is not having to fill up so frequently, it felt like I was always at the pumps with the S2k as it had a smaller tank, that would typically get 2 more than the 350z has so far.

Do the facelifts have the same boot floor issue? If so if it's under 10 years old get to BMW quickly for it to be inspected. I was tempted by an e46 but I can't standard the interior, that said I love that colour

I have found these take a little while to get used to. I've had mine a month now, done about 1200miles. I find the traction control does cut in very early so find myself turning it off quite alot. When I bought my e39 M5 the rear wheel speed sensor went and I had to drive home from Fife to Hampshire, steep learning curve but I have always treated any rwd like it wants to throw you off the road at any time. My personal opinion is you can't always rely on the safety systems so it's good to have an understanding of what it does, but practise in a safe place.

Ultimately it comes down to time and money. In reality how many people would actually update it. Its always the first test model which is most costly, but I cant imagine it would be that complicated for someone intelligent to find another bluetooth module and wire it into the connections of the existing kit

Boring update I received my V5 today so my numberplate is now all sorted. I haven't received the retention certificate yet for the other plate but it should be here soon. I managed a little run today. Farnborough to central London at peak times, then up to Silverstone where 2 people decided today was a good day to have an accident on the M40 and M1 so not the greatest of journeys. Then back home. It managed a respectable 29mpg average which is about what I was expecting/hoping for as my expenses covers that nicely

I only learned about him on Friday when I was talking to someone at work about his impreza and who were good mappers. RIP
