  1. same stuff as before with without as much cut out of the show?
  2. Last week the wife got told that they could no longer afford her where she worked so has been made redundant. I've decided to sell the S2000 because it's worth more money so gives me a bigger safety net for now until she gets another job. I will be keeping the 350z for a little while because it's never let me down and has been reliable. With that in mind I have refitted the AEM so I can make some noise while I'm using it again
  3. Boring to one person is amazing to another

    My 911

    I like that alot
  5. The owner can't genuinely believe that looks good
  6. 350z was serviced at TGM recently, mileage is now 51,700.
  7. Did you have a private plate on the car when it was a CAT C? That may be why it has come up with 'some' details on the the HPI check. A mate bought a e39 540i years ago and it had a similar thing, but a private plate that was on the vehicle previously had been a write off on 1 car and finance repossession on another car, but the 540i was all good.
  8. Yes i still have my 350z The mileage is now up to 51k, so i will chuck it in for a service as i've done about 4000miles in it. The MOT expires on June 28th, so this morning i gave it to the garage and i now have it back in the works car park with MOT till June 2016 and no advisories. The S2k mileage is creeping up as well, its now at 42k. In May was our first wedding anniversary, so the wife and i went to Scotland for a few days, car drove faultlessly, even managed to return a very healthy 35mpg average over the 1261miles which considering the roads i was driving it surprised me a bit. It has just had a few mods done to it now. Mugen baffled sump, another oil and filter change, oil filter bracket to stop it coming lose due to vibrations, valves adjusted, K&N was fitted previously. Tyres are Continental Sport 5 all round, so hopefully they last me until July when i have a track day booked at Bedford.
  9. Looking to buy a car in 4 months time, seems optimistic searching now? As other have said what is your budget as that is the main detail that is needed on top of everything else you said
  10. Looking at the photo I was interested when it was for sale before, it looked a nice car. Sadly I bought one and have since gone back as they aren't for me. I am waiting until nicer weather to sell mine so I have a better chance of getting good money, winter is a hard time to sell a car unless people are ready to buy. Good luck with the sale and job move, but just because it has a 'few' more miles and 1 more owner doesn't mean you have to lose money if your in no rush.
  11. Just been using the car and enjoying it recently Still haven't got my numberplate swapped over but at least the paperwork has now been sent. Nearly at 39k so will book it in for a service at Honda this month. A few photos to show the colour of the car as its taken a little while to grow on me
  12. I'm fairly sure you were following me the other day, I was in the Honda S2000 going to the M3. It sounded nice as you went passed and it does look clean and tidy. Good luck with the sale
  13. Ive got to be honest, Ive never really had that problem - Ill warn the dealer that Im intending to actually test the car and that Ill be driving "rapidly" and none (other than the BMW lady) have ever had a problem with it - the GTR salesman clearly challenged me to drive as quick as I could (and in fairness to him sat there chatting away like nothing was happening at 160+ ), Porsche, Bentley, Lexus, Elms BMW and Audi were all the same, even the private sellers I bought the 350 and the 135 let me drive pretty much how I wanted to - the 135 guy wanted me to drift a roundabout no less! For me, if youre a competent driver and are looking at buying a performance car, if they keep you to 60 and 3000 rpm you arent testing the car at all. I do still give it some to make sure it pulls cleanly to the redline etc, but personally i would never drive someone else's car like i would my own.
  14. This morning a Black 55 plate pulled out behind me in the S2000, pretty much followed most of the way to the M3 Fleet junction where he pulled out and overtook as i came off at the next exit. The car looked nice and shiney, it also had an opie oil air freshener and an aftermarket exhaust The reg was --55 BVR
  15. I test drove the a couple of cars, i have always driven a car before buying it, but i have always explained to the seller that if i break it i buy it. I also asked for members close to where i live if they minded taking me out in their cars to see how they felt, test drives are great but its hard to actually drive a car as you want to it. I'm in Farnborough Hampshire and have a 2007 HR that i can take you out in, if you find no one closer that can
  16. oem shocks and springs back on, new nuts used where I could as I don't like re-using old stuff. It feels a bit stiffer but I haven't really pushed it much as I just wanted to get the car back on the road. Will get the geometry checked tomorrow if I get time just to make sure. The drivers side front shock was also just starting to leak. My plan was always to get them all rebuilt, but this may wait a month or so to limit my spending as I don't 'need' them yet as I don't think I will manage any track days just yet.
  17. My ep3 is being collected next weekend, its an honest car with good history for my ownership of 3 years but i took a gamble when i bought it as it had no real history, only that his mate serviced it. It drove nicely and i had no reason to doubt him. Its a 2005 with 100k on the clock now, i bought it on 72k. I has been the most reliable car i have ever owned. In my ownership i have replaced the ARB bushes and drops links which cost £40. I have recently had the clutch changed (£480) as it was harder to get a quicker change in 3rd gear at high revs, its a symptom of wear so i had it changed before it could do any possible damage. It uses a little oil, but doesn't drink it like some can do. The main issue i have had with the car is people causing damage to it. The front bumper got tapped twice over christmas when parked in a hospital car park, its not really noticeable but annoys me still. The drivers side rear quarter had a hit and run, i have never got it fixed because i worried about not getting it to the standard i wanted it to be so took a hit on the price. So 28k, 3 years and its cost me just over £500. The only reason it is going is because the wife wants a cheaper car as she is looking at jobs a little further away. The biggest killer is low oil and over revs but you cant really check that on a used vehicle, so do the normal checks, drive it and see how it feels.
  18. S2000 This afternoon we went to visit the parents in law, on the way home there was a horrible noise from the passenger side rear going over bumps, i figured it was something in the boot hitting. When i got home i had a look under the car and the passenger side was covered in fresh fluids which smelt like petrol. So out with the tools and jack to get the wheel off to investigate. When i started taking a closer look at the shock it appears that the seal has gone. The car has Nitron R1 suspension, but looking at the receipts they are nearly 3 years old and have done 16k. Luckily i have the original shocks and springs which i am going to get re-fitted for now and have a look into getting the Nitrons re-built. Looks like i will be using the 350z for a few days until i get the S2000 sorted, lucky i have another car to use until it gets sorted.
  19. Sorry, I will go double check the rules
  20. My first S2000 was a 2004 had 35k on the clock, full Honda history, i had it for 15 months and did 23k in my ownership. I had to replace a rear anti roll bar drop link, but that was because i hit a small pothole on an autosolo. My current one is a 2008 with 36k on the clock, full Honda history and also has warranty until 2017 as long as i use Honda for servicing. I've only had it a week so far. I have found with Jap cars as long as the car is serviced and you check the oil regularly they should be good for a long time. I will send you a PM about buying one
  21. I parked the 2 cars side by side and it shows just how much bigger the 350z is compared to the S2000
  22. Gave the car a clean, be rude not to take some photos of it
  23. I have seen it a couple of times but today i was next you at the set of traffic lights (in the Honda S2000) as you pulled onto the A331, Grey with the reg XX58 DGZ i think. The rear diffuser looks good as i followed you into Glebeland Road
  24. I have an HR, have done 3000miles and it's used no oil. I was worried about oil consumption when buying one as my old M5 used to use it a fair amount. I have no experience of other models though
  25. Yeah the previous owner was a bit ocd I also have the original shocks and springs. The grille was fitted because he was worried about stones hitting the radiator. The seats has little bits of soft material to stop the seat belts make any noise or wear. He had a full set of geo bolts ready just incase they needed changing when it was done, but none were needed. The roof was replaced by honda in 2011 I think it was and the VSA module was replaced in October 2014. It has warranty till 2017 which is transferable too.
